Sota Gulfocean the Blue Blue Seas of Seas, a human goddess associated with salt. "Sota" is "Ocean" in human. So, Ocean Gulfocean the Blue Blue Seas of Seas. Probably the head of the Divine Department of Redundancy Department.
Also, same world, another human goddess in the same pantheon, Oneth Agesold. (Ages-old, I think.) Associated with longevity. Rislu the Shock of Violence, the god of revenge, and Kemus (no titles), the god of day, revelry, AND festivals, add to my theory that these people see many titles as the mark of someone without much authority.

DF Gameplay Questions / Weaponsmith! Forge that ^%&*? pick already!

Why won't my weaponsmith forge the copper pick I have told the forge to have done? There's copper bars, charcoal, and a forge made of iron anvil and ash. Said weaponsmith has been idling for a while. I'm thinking about drafting him to show him how hard his life could be.

Help?

I really don't want future elf kings driven off into the wilderness by suspicious dwarves. Unless the elf king is a necromancer, of course.

Maybe mithril can be made by forging steel in a magical manner, but the reaction can only be learned via secret. If the mithril-makers are not dwarves, this will spark trade.

from my limited understanding, all changing the slavery ethic does is change how that entity interacts with other entities during world gen and at war status in fortress mode. There are a few methods of getting non-dwarf immigrants, but they escape me at the moment and did not sound like a simple endeavor.
I think that if dwarves conquer elves or humans or something and then all actual dwarves die out, you will get dwarvish migrants. I'm not sure, though.

Well, you could always start over and just pretend the stuff you recorded still happened (editing certain bits for accuracy). Shouldn't take too long to get back to where you was.

I believe in the kobold camp with the critter kitchen, one of the reactions uses live vermin. Might want to look at that.
