If I recall correctly, there's a button-press that takes an isolated snapshot of the active window (alt+printscreen I believe). From there, you just 'Paste' it in MS Paint like any other screenshot and save.

Oh, crap, I just remembered I can't figure out screenshots! I can put them in a word document and upload that to the DFFD, but it's not the same...

I just use image shack.
Which doesn't take word documents. How do you get a screenshot into a jpeg of whatever?

Badgers shouldnt be an issue for training on.  they are a threat when they enrage on lone haulers and weak hunters.  The giant versions are pretty fun vs leather armor.  Capybaras are basically badger clones in this respect
Not much experience with capybaras, but they don' seem to get angry because of your existence.

Artifact cotton candy ring, mencacing with spikes of cotton candy, studded with cotton caandy, etc. It only wastes cotton candy and raises fort value.
It narrowly edges out an arifact cotton candy warhammer.

Lungfish, they attempt to siege your fortress only to suffocate. Not only are they useless, but they're stupid as well.
Actually, the only lungfish deaths I've seen have been cat-related.

I noticed today that Lead is listed in the economic stone list as "Sharp Weapon Useable" (or something very similar).


Hmmm.  I have no lead on my map, so I'll have to wait til I can buy some to see if that means what i think it means.

But every metal has this description? Maybe it means these metals can be use to make blades sharp. Iron sharpener menacing with spikes of gold and adorned with hanging rings of lead.
I think it means that you can tell workshops or the job manager to make X Y, where X is a metal and Y is an object.

I am sad at how little you guys are being creative. Training, bins for reclaim, useless, random side discussions about the Romans.

While clay has, for me, replaced glass as the infinite-resources industry, I'd like to be able to find sand easily when I want to make glass. Would it be hard to add an option to the site finder for sand?

If the migrants are already dying, why do you need to limit population?

On a more serious note...If there is such a high death rate, why do so many migrants keep coming?
Finally, if you have 18 or 19 pop, the waves will keep rolling in until a baby is born or a migrant makes it to the fort...and for two waves after that.

Seriously, I'm fine with it. In fact, I'll just say it now: I'm fine with any labor that is not likely to be dangerous, especially if it is not laborious or it involves some creative expression. Just be sure to mention it.

The problem with you guys who are watching this thread closely is that most of you already have tasks that are also vital to the fort.  So taking you off of whatever it is you guys are already doing is just as bad.

What I once considered a minor inconvenience, is now turning into a major problem. We have no fresh water and our stockpile of drinks is dwindling fast. There are some seeds laying around though. Our farmer says he knows how to grow, so we may have to rely on alcoholic drinks like those bearded midgets.

If there are still spots open, I'd like a kobold. Draknoiss is his name; he likes dragons and wants to catch and/or tame one, depending on his profession 9mechanic or animal trainer, respectively).
Also, I think I would like to take a turn. If I don't respond for, say, three days after you say it's my turn assume I missed it and you can proceed without me.

What is, in your opinion, the best item for trade that you can make out of clay? Statues are the most valuable, but are heavy, so are craft goods better?

I generated a cavernless world with only two civs. They were dwarves and kobolds. 7500 (typo) years later, the world was empty for 7,495 or 7,496 years.

Taking out the creature tags from goblin, elf, and human civs (or at least elf and human civs) leaves dwarves as the only farming civ. Take out caverns, and everyone starves.
