DF Modding / Re: Messing with Raw

Probably setting the ignition point to something rather low and leaving the melting point as-is would work. That's why graphite and lignite never go out, after all.

If I failed to embark with any fire-safe materials or a pick, can I make a kiln?

54708
1.) Can you make a creature inteligent, able to work, and butable on embark as a critter of some kind?

2.) Not knowing much about body plans, how would you change the size of the house elves' ears, eyes, and noses?

3.) Would someone whose HP-fu is greater than mine please tell me
 a. What size should they be?
 b. What ages do they grow up at?
 c. What house-elf magic can they have, and how?

Also, make sure that you meet with the diplomat before he leaves.
Please. I might actually be able to have good bedrooms without the DMs complaining about them!

If a vampire or werewolf or whatever can become a zombie, someone needs to make syndromes for ninja, pirate, and robot, apply them to a dwarf, and then make that into a zombie.

What would you propose for that ?

Robot: body made of iron, high intellectual and physical attributes but low social attributes
Ninja: Natural skill for stealth and fighting, notably dodging, wrestling and swordsdwarf
Pirate: Natural skill for fighting and swordsdwarf, automatic pet parrot, more preferences for booze, andrrr arrr tagrrr similarrr to LISPrrr thatrrr makes the pirrrate talk with lots of RRRR's
Or...it was .

Haha, i think we'll be seeing some new nice statues around my fortress if it gets running...

Goblin Siege Has Arrived.

Goblin Leader: "By Armok! The statues of long gone dwarves are movi-- Arrrghhhh!!"

The animated Urist Mclegendary SwordsDwarf slashes the Goblin Leader in the head, and the severed part sails off in an Arc!

Goblin: Derr....Retreat!
That.
Would be.
!!AWESOME!!!

Now, make a series of spheres of various colors and sizes, all connecting to each other in a laticework, with each sphere containing appropriate living space, farmland, and workshops.  Make your fort into a molecule.
Bonus points: Assign each element a stone, read up on relative atomic radii, and make your fort into a bunch of realistic molecules!

Also, what is the smallest sphere that can support a single dwarf until old age, without much unhappiness or any starvation/dehydration?

If your jail stockpiles are in a nice row, you just might be able to place a single stockpile over the whole thing and then cut it to ribbons with p-x after setting up the 'take from' stuff. Does that even work?  ???
p-x? I never noticed that!
You learn something new every day, whether it's how to play an action game or some little feature of DF.

Mod your badgers to be [WAR_TRAINABLE] or simply [TRAINABLE]. Train them for war, problem solved.
I thought it was [TRAINABLE_WAR]...Better check my mod!

Coincidentally, I had a miner's child (5 years old, tops) kill a steam HFS.

To be fair, steam HFS have to cry themselves to sleep at night already.

Steam HFSs tear hits Steam HFSs upper body.
The severed part sails off in an arc.
Steam HFS has been struck down.
The spinning -Butterfly Wing Breeze- strikes the Wimp of Steam in the lower body and the severed part flies off in an arc!
The Wimp of Steam has been struck down.

If Dwarven Children are the Dwarven equivalent of Bruce Lee... how do Snatchers get away with them so easily?

Just because they can punch the face off of tentacle demons doesn't mean they aren't still stupid dwarves.  They are probably told that they're going to get free socks.
I'm suddenly envisioning a truck sitting outside the fort with the words "FREE CANDY SOCKS" with happy music playing and a goblin sitting at the wheel.
That's ridiculous. If dwarves haven't made boats, goblins can't make trucks.

I was once modding a creature (swamp frog of death) to be able to shoot dust all over the place...but there was a problem. It had gaseous blood or something and it killed its self in the process of self defense. Now, that seems like crap because it is...but the real fun is what happened after it died. It literally cooked and prepared its self. It would be awesome to have a creature that your dwarves take with you that prepares its self after death. Thoughts?
Cave-in dust area attacks kill the creature. It's the equivalent of a cave-in ontop of the creature, minus the insta-vaporization effect.

Moving along, the creature would fling and injure your dwarves, likely killing them too.
I think he's refering to the creature self-butchering.

How far did it fall before !!death!!?

DF General Discussion / Re: What Would Urist Do?
« on: May 11, 2011, 07:11:22 pm »
"Slanderer!" he'd scream as he ravages his accuser.

What Would Urist Do if all his nerves were fried and felt no pain?
Nothing. Duh. He wouldn't even give in to pain.

What would Urist do if all of his nerves on the left side were "fried"?

With this mod, your pretty much unable to dig through stone.  If your real lucky, you might find some copper in a soil layer.  Last time I checked, you could still trade with the capital for the odd "iron bone armor".  But for the most part, your stuck with bone and wood weapons until the baddies drop something better.  I couldn't tell you about the tags in the raws though.
...Yeah, that's one of the things about this mod.

DF Gameplay Questions / Re: Barrels: did Pots make them obsolete?

Don't stone pots need to be glazed first?
If they don't, that'll change my game a lot.

Shapeshifting.
Spare a megabeast's life, and it'll teach you some of its powers--firebreath, regeneration (once hydras grow back their heads), bronzeflesh, flight (from rocs and maybe dragons), something having to do with syndromes (for titans/FBs), etc.
Exorcism.
Taming/Training undead.
As above, but with clowns.
Mind control (?).
Creating gold/steel/CC/etc from nothing. Or even infinite microcline.
Summoning magma into pits. Or water. Learning both would be awesome. Infinite obsidian!
Summon Meteor. Summon Oversized Icicle.
Turn common stone into *gold crafts*. Or at least -stone crafts- into +stone crafts+.
Turn water into *dwarven wine*.
Floods. This is one of many that would be awesome in worldgen.
Fire immunity. Cold immunity. Goblinite immunity. Copper immunity.
Immunity to some other syndrome that makes you immune to the first one, but both have negative effects and are contracted in similar ways that are available at the same time. A "lesser of two evils" thing.

I've had tantrums thrown by sleeping dwarves as well. Maybe they just move in their bed a lot ?
Or on a barrel, in my case.
