Two questions.

1. What am I doing wrong? I have water running into a hole, which leads through my entrance, through a floor grate, through a well in the dining room, and into a tunnel that has fortifications that lead off screen. My fort is flooding at the floor grate and the well, and the water hasn't reached the fortifications!

I don't know enough from that description to know for sure, but it sounds to me that the design doesn't take into account the mass of water. In other words, the water in DF is quite thick, it'll "pile" on top of each other if the input if more than it can spread out or flow away.
Possible, but then why is my entrance flooding, too?

Maybe it would help if someone told me how to work the DFFD like I asked in the first post...Just sayin'.
I can't figure out how to uplod the whole region folder, so either I
m doing something wrong or I don't upload the region folder. Help?

heck, just build a outpost in that area, run it two years, produce basic adventurer equipment/supplies, then abandon it. Use it as a base of operations. With luck, perhaps you can find some coal/ ore veins for a more permanent fortress
Make sure to:
A. Build your forgrs, etc, on a road. They'll be easier to find.
B. Leave theear in the workshops; they'll get scattered otherwise.

You could always use the Lofn's mod to get crafting, and sew yourself your own backpack.

My legal stuff is technically over.  It's the reason why I haven't had time to update, but it's over now that I've lost.  I'm in the middle of trying to find a new home and job, so updates will be sporadic at best, but I have Candy Fortress on my flash drive so I can technically work on it at any computer.
RL before DF. I understand if you don't update for months but really hope it doesn't come to that.

No; cavies are, if I recall, guinea pigs. Guinea pigs are not hamsters.
Or capybaras. If you confuse a non-pygmy capybara with a non-giant guinea pig, I...I just don't know.

What has worked for me, just before I die (And I know I will) I drop EVERYTHING important, and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt
I've had a few adventurers give in to pain and get killed when I thought they were going to escape--one by a dwarf in an abandoned fort, the other by bandits. (I don't even play adventure mode all that much!.) Even more embarrassing when they're flyers.
...Which, come to think of, both of those were. Not that this has anything to do with it; they were both goners once they gave in to pain.

5 to a side, yes. It's 5 floors, each 5x5 tiles. And I did design one...I just haven't built it yet.
One dorm floor, one dining room floor, a farm floor, a kitchen floor, a brewer floor, and space around those last two, or what?

Track down the gobbo leader at his desert outpost, then send a squad of your best trained marksdwarfs to take him out.  Designate the sea as the appropriate dumping point for his corpse.  Instant satisfaction.

It took my fort ten years from the first Gobbo siege to track down their leader.  The civ screen indicated he was either already dead, or holed up in a cave somewhere.  My mayor stepped down and a new, even more unlikable one took his place.  He completely bungled our healthcare system, crashed our Dwarven economy, tanked our relationship with England the Elves, but by Armok - he got that gobbo bastard.  Urist McGeraldo covered the whole thing on Fox Cave Spider News.  It happened right around the time the Elvish prince had a huge marriage ceremony...  Does any of this register?

I don't believe any of this unless you show me his birth certificate.
The sad thing is that I only now got this... :(
