2. Put the character's element on the scales of Solid, Simple and Serene (or not), each from 0-3, trying to be generous.
3. Appropriateness of Catalyst Emotion, 1-10. Again, trying to be generous.
4. Work that seems to have been put into the character, 1-10.
5. Creativity in the character, 1-10.
6. How well the character will fit with the campaign and other characters.

Once we have the characters graded on the 50-point scale, I'll see where we are and work on selecting a party that should go well together.

Kyle Johnson (kj)
His element and C.E. work well, but much of the rest is a lot like other Kyles. Could be an interesting dynamic with female PCs and NPCs, but potentially disruptive. He didn't answer stuff with more than a sentence or two, though. And while I'm here:

Altrius Dathion (Sanure)
While the physical description of Altrius was lacking, he went all-out with the backstory and described his proposed abilities in depth. Pretty neat character. Now, how will he fit into the campaign? Potentially a bit more of a loose cannon than a Training of 4 suggests, but eh. Hard to tell, what with the lack of personality given. A bit of a Spock, I guess. And since I mocked kj about it:

Kuroe Emiya (scapheap)
Neat name. I'm imagining some taiga-ey mountains up north, full of a vaguely Japanese culture. Ninja versus Viking invaders. It's awesome. No idea if that's what you were going for, though.
Aside from that...while you show wit and creativity in your character, you did write fairly little. (Plus, metal seems a bit on the strong side; this is okay, but I feel obligated to ding you somewhere.) And how would Kuroe fit in? Well, probably dry comic relief, but I dunno. I'll say she'd fit well into most groups. And you did explain how your character got recruited, so...
I suppose I could poke fun at the "spoiler:writing" thing, but eh.

Alvar Anu (PowderMiner)
Another neat name.
Anyways. Interesting character, interesting concept. Problem is, it's hard to fit a character from a hidden village into a military recruitment...especially since there's every chance that Alvar's village would not have the knee-jerk reaction to sorcery that so damned the queen.

"Mage-Pirate Captain" seems to be the min part of your character's description. Nice finding the picture, though. Shouldn't be hard to get your character in.

Aside from issues with catalyst emotion, the character seems to have been made by throwing together a few tropes. On the other hand, I suppose I can find ways to get you into the military.

Ah, Selina. Said character is always fun. I'll try not to let my familiarity with the character cloud my judgement.
As you seem to enjoy doing, this Selina is different than the others. Sure, her parents are dead like the Name Pending one, but that's about the only link that springs to mind. Nice to see the girl. Selina's personality seems like it would be interesting in a military environment...

Lenglon's Characters
Oh my. I kinda skimmed over this the first time, thinking that Lenglon statted out siblings for a previous application. As they say, d'oh.
After a quick scan...Ahrian is out for being nonhuman (sorry, but this campaign is humans-only), and Maryne has by far too specific of an element. Thankfully, Lirian lacks big flaws!

Damn, that is a lot of background. Neat character, too, although perhaps a bit tough to fit in. Partly...well, he's already been through so much, what does it matter that he's through a little more? It's like writing a dragonslaying into the background of a 1st-level character who's going to be fighting orc hordes and clearing kobold caves for a while.

First off, seriously? "Rune"? That sounds more like a name a wannabe-magigangsta would give himself than what any sensible parents might call their kid. Unless it means "Hope" in his language...wait, Hope is a guy, that would still be embarrassing.
Alright, seriously now. A bit cliche, a bit...off. But you certainly put your work into it. And working him into the story shouldn't be hard.

Do these numbers smell funny? Yeah, there's a reason for that. I improvised them, trying to keep things even and consistent. If you object to scores in some way, or to the weighting of categories, please articulate things (and please don't just say "Number X is unfair," explain why; someone the text implied was worse than you but got the same/a better score is a good example, or if the same thing got a different score), and if this affects the results I'll be sure to compensate you. Ideally, I'd add you to the squad, but at the least I'd let you control some antagonist or something.
Yet, these should help me narrow down the field. First, let's look at the distribution, taking away the characters the numbers represent for a sec:
