Meanwhile, Alistair is sitting down on a chair near the toilet, pondering what Meme meant.
"Ali!" Angel hugs him.
Perhaps this will help clear things up.

Kyle looks at Kelyn.
"You have some kind of grudge against them don't you? "
Kelyn grunts, "Of course I do. They're murders, pillagers and rapists, all of them." She spits. The head dog-man starts growling again.
Will sighs. "I'm sure that every one of them is a horrible person who takes pleasure in killing innocent people and that each has raped--um, in case you hadn't gathered that, I was not being honest there. Where I come from is a concept known as 'sarcasm' where you refute a point by pointing out how absurd it is. More or less."

Lyle runs he fuck over there.
Upon his arrival, he falls over, out of breath.
The lead dog-man grunts,

Oh...And say, GWG, will you be giving out the starting gear, or can I put Yuun's stuff under his "Other" tab? Non-magical, just clothing, gear and weaponry. Or are we supposed to wear uniforms, since we're in the army now?
Good point actually.
You will be given uniforms and weapons and stuff, but if you have any special personal possessions you might want to mention them.

If it's uniforms, I'd better be able ta keep my hat.
If you can wear it with your uniform and armor, you can wear it in the field. Just don't expect the CO to appreciate risks taken to recover it should it fall of your head.

If you want chryssalids to be more dangerous, just give their movement range and damage a large buff and give them that perk which allows them to dodge the first overwatch shot automatically.
Oh god.

Or, just give them stealth, Thin Man jumping, and maybe wall-crawling and/or -smashing. Then have them attack in large packs.
Maybe make them a bit frailer, though.

Better question, how were cattle and chikens so greatlly affected? They should have been in barns and coops.
For the most part, they weren't. However, some were caught in the fields when the blizzard hit (which didn't affect the big livestock much), and hay stores were damaged both by lowered production and a couple days extra of needing to feed their livestock. The setting is more or less based on the Scandinavian region, where people tend to be pretty close to the maximum herd size they could support through the winter, such that a bad summer would require culling a good portion of the herd.

Hey GWG, what stat does knife-fighting use?
Focus is used for aiming well, Strength is used for piercing deep (probably not much of a concern unless you critfail or fight someone in armor), Quickness is used for not getting stabbed in return, and Endurance is for not dying when Quickness screws up.

I am finished! Somebody call for a MEDIC! ...bad joke.
Goodie.

-snip-
Part of that has to do with magic not always following common sense, but a bigger part has to do with my explanation: "they prefer to develop on their own." Crystals are a lot harder for craftsmen, mundane or magical, to shape intricately because they maintain their crystalline structure more.
And, of course, the biggest problem is that I suck at explaining things.

Try to locate some kind of ally or easy victim.

Stuff.

It wasn't about that though. It was more lingering depression from sources other than that. And really good acting.
I'll believe it when I see proof.
And, again, why did he write "Will was right" in his depression if he knows he is only pretending to be stupid?

5677
"If they can understand us, they know why we are here, which increases their threat potential."
"ICARUS, disable paranoia unit."

"Alright. And you can speak?"
The lead one barks and starts speaking in its tongue again.
Will works on understanding the tongue, engaging the leader in conversation until he gets the hang of it.
(Shouldn't be hard; Germanic languages by definition have similar vocabularies and such as one another.)

Meme giggles happily and hugs back.
Angel lets go and runs to find Alistair.

5678
"Alright. And you can speak?"

5679
Well, he has done some pretty smart things, like decipher the wall straight off, and has built things Tony Stark would drool over.

More of a genius ditz.
Being knowledgeable or good with technology doesn't make one not stupid. Not doing stupid things makes one not stupid.
Exhibit A: Tony Stark. Iron Man 3. Tells a terrorist where he lives, doesn't take the slightest precaution. Or even the first movie, where he doesn't pay attention to the actions of his business partner. At all. Or really oversee the business.

And depressed people aren't really in their right minds most of the time.
Why would he be depressed about people calling him stupid if he was just pretending to be stupid? Especially if the person he fooled was the guy who has a power that makes him good at figuring things out?

5680
Meme carefully takes Momo back before answering.

"He wike wike yous."
Meme smiles happily!
Angel pauses, shocked, then hugs Meme joyfully!

"We can not retreat, the grail is in this direction. If Kelyn is correct, these creatures search for the grail too, thus are rivals. Options: Make them flee, kill them."
"Alternative option: Diplomacy. Or going around. But let's try diplomacy."

Will approaches the dog-men. "I am William Warren. Do this--" Will nods his head. "--if you can understand me."

People can act a certain way while not actually being that way, personality-wise .

Keep that in mind.
Well, Kyle hasn't shown any signs of this just being an act, so...for the present time, it's fair to operate on the assumption that Kyle is an idiot.
(Further evidence: When Will was criticizing Kyle's intellect, Kyle wrote "Will was right" as part of his crazy-room.)

I just realised, AlistairxAngel is one of the most tragic ships ever.
Alistair and Angel may or may not have crushes on each other, but while Alistair will age, Angel won't. When Alistair's a twenty-four year old man, Angel will still be five.
And woe betide either of them if they still retain feelings for each other after that long.
That is pretty sad.

5683
Meme then walks off to find Angel.
Angel is where Meme left her.
"Did you find Alistair? Did you ask him? What did he say?"

"Growling and barking are acts of intimidation. They would not try to intimidate us if they had the capabilities of defeating us.. I recommend we intimidate them back, and make them flee."
"Illogical deduction. Many intimidate in an attempt to dissuade combat even when they are in power, due to the exertions and dangers associated with combat. It's better for them to not fight us than to kill us all with a couple casualties."

5684
Then why did the snow affect the crops so much in a period of about 48 hours?
The same reasons people don't grow wheat in the winter:
1. The snow blocked light from the sun from reaching the crops. Now, for big plants like trees this isn't much of an issue, but grass and crops would have been devastated, especially since...
2. ...the temperature of the plants themselves was greatly lowered. Few organisms not specifically adapted for arctic/deep winter conditions can survive being buried in snow for even one day, let alone two.

Done!
Looks pretty good.

Kyle slowly draws and strings his bow.

"Kyle, tell ICARUS not to attack until someone else attacks."
