Background:Altrius typically spends his time meditating alone, though recent events has brought him into the public. He has managed to keep calm, but it was not easy, as he expected. Many people openly tried to anger him. He knows his luck may run out eventually.

What was he? A monk or a priest? A farmer? A craftsman or scribe? A lesser noble, or a younger son of a noble family?
(Remember, this is before the magic.)

Curse: When Altrius was a child his father made a pact with a demon. In exchange for bountiful harvests, Altrius was made to be a vessel for the demon. The demon inhabited Altrius, but by some miracle he suppressed the demon.

Doesn't quite fit. A better version might be something like "Altrius's father sold his child to a sorcerer in exchange for bountiful harvests and the sorcerer gave him magic in hopes of him becoming his apprentice".
And then the sorcerer died later because a well-established sorcerer's apprentice isn't someone the army would be looking to recruit.

It's not very wrong, either. Almost all of the plot and setting has been developed by players.
Like, adventures and entire realms are up to the players to devise.
