Sen's teleportation spell ranges from 1 person to as many people or objects as her mana can transport. She can even teleport people who aren't near here to a different location. Without a catalyst, She can only teleport herself and maybe 2 or 3 more people to the same location
That's still a damn good teleportation spell. And...well...look at my other point. In case you don't read Worm, Eidolon's power is basically being able to switch through a set of a few moderately-powerful powers at a time. He's considered the most powerful parahuman by far, up on the same level as indestructible superpowered kaiju, even though he has a number of drawbacks Sen lacks.

There was a robot from mission 7 that fought with a extremely hot club. It cut though metal like butter.
One, we don't know how hot it was. Two...wait, what effects did that have on the surroundings? It should have scorched any nearby exposed flesh basically instantly.

Firstly, im not expecting to actually use it against a battlesuit, i merely want the option. Its gonna be fine against the fleshy twats im generally gonna thwack with it.
Secondly, pyros example uses something with an initial temp not a constant temp, for all you know my tube might produce more heat than striking something takes away. Also battlesuits are designed to disperse lasers using refractive fibers which have no effect on pure heat.
Thirdly, minimum difference which i fully expect to be able to increase through overcharging.
Fourthly, You wound up on haphaestus because you wanted to be there and get free tinker prototypes, not because anyone said "hey go to haphestus because you know science".

And im not arguing with the GM about the light tube, he says itll work albiet slowly against some targets and i accept that.
Im aguing with him over my vibranium oscillation sword which i believe he is misinterpereting.
1. It's going to be extreme overkill, actually. And not very efficient overkill, either. Flesh tends to burn slowly rather than melt slowly.
2a. No, it doesn't affect it that much. Especially since no, it wouldn't, otherwise your tube would keep heating up.
2b. That doesn't actually affect things that much. The fibers are still heat-resistant, even if the heat is distributed over a slightly larger area.
3. If you're intending to make it reach higher temperatures, you should design it for that, instead of saying you want it to go to 3500 degrees Celsius and then hoping it can safely go higher.
4. Regardless, I do know science. So does Pyro. That's why we're going to be good at tinkering, and why we're able to explain this to you.
5. So, basically you agree with us.

Xan would win hands down.  Jim is a clone, and has pointed out many times that he has zero social skills, and zero non-killing skills.  Xan has the same problem, but can assimilate people prototype style, and if he pisses off the cops or whatever he can just turn into a different person.  Jim would have to live with his mistakes, and being a nice person isn't enough to get you through life.  Xan however, would have years to learn how to be a good liar and manipulator, and can just assimilate and impersonate a person with a high position.  Plus, Xan can probably live forever, while Jim might live for another few years depending on Spectrum Corps' (I think) design phlosophy.  In theory, Xan could eventually become the permanent president, imitating each new president of every new company.
Assuming that Xan has a couple of things he doesn't, like the ability to be nice to his bosses and/or basic spy skills. And assuming that the police in this New York are as incompetent as those in Prototype's.

Also, being a complete sociopathic jerk is actually really good for getting rich.  Did you know that there is a measurably higher amount of sociopaths in high positions, such as CEO, than in the general population?  Granted, they're all high-functioning, and Xan is anything but, but he would have an eternity to learn.
Nope, he only has ten years. Or less, since it would be unfair to continue the contest beyond Jim's natural lifespan.

Well, you have a bad feeling about the lady working the counter because she seems rather surprised and freaked out about the 3 heavily armed men in space suits with riot helmets jauntily balanced on their larger space helmets standing outside her door.
Your cover's basically blown. Unless maybe you want to pretend to be stand-up comedians.

The Lady working the register in the diner, as well as the waitress and a few of the customers are now screaming. The lady at the register runs into the kitchen and the waitress hides behind the counter. Several of the more...aggressive looking fellows have left their chairs and are heading for the door to confront Captain Obvious and his sidekicks.
You might not want to try, though.

((Who wants D'usse?))
Kyle will take her if Tadock doesn't object and no one else wants her.
I would have checked back to figure out what this was about, but this quote is too funny out of context.

You're missing several points.

First off, we're not saying it won't work, we're saying it won't work well.
Second off, take what Pyro said. High temperature difference between lead's melting point and the RHSN, and it's still slow. Slower than the much lower difference between the RHSN and the CDs, in fact. As Pyro noted, the battlesuit plate--designed to resist, among other things, lasers, which are all about transferring heat--would be even slower to melt.
Third off, the difference between the melting point of battlesuit plate and the heat of your sword is smaller still than the examples provided.
Fourth off, you're arguing with not only science but the GM. And two players who wound up on Hephaestus for a reason.

1/4 of a earthquake is a tremor.

1/4 of a teleportation spell sounds very painful.
25% of an earthquake is still effective. 25% of a teleportation is much less than what Sen's actually done with teleportation. Moreover...there's a reason that even with only moderately powerful powers, Eidolon is considered to be by far the most powerful parahuman in the Wormverse.

yeah, Poltifar is not really interested anymore
Wait, people are still interested in this?

She hands the key to Arthur, let that be his problem, and turns to the battle.
What?

668
But as I said, To use a spell at full strength, Sen needs a catalyst. Since she doesn't have one, Her spells are never at full strength.
Alright. What strength are all the spells cast since at?

It didn't say, but going by the color it's probably somewhere in the region of 900 degrees Celsius (~1200 K). CDs melt around 600 degrees Celsius (~900 K). That's a solid 33% temperature differential, while your 3500 C (?) to 3000 C would be less than half of that.

My point was more that it took a long time to burn through just a few inches of CDs. Even longer, since the heat differential between the heat source and the melting thing is smaller.

I cannot watch videos ever due to miniscule data limit.
It's a red-hot sphere of nickel slowly melting through a stack of CDs. It has to be reheated partway through.

What I'm getting at is that anyone with a strong utility power is to be considered OP.
Pretty much, aye. Well, if it's a sufficiently useful, ill-defined utility.

Sen however does gain the full understanding to use the magic. Once she absorbs a magic book, She has the abilitly to cast it at full strength.
And that's problematic.

672
Overpowered is not defined so narrowly by anyone with common sense. Overpowered is defined, simply, as how much one can disrupt a game with one's power. Kal-El would be overpowered in World of Warcraft, but not Phoenix Wright. Similarly, while Millenium Pegasus would probably be overpowered in Phoenix Wright, he wouldn't be a problem in World of Warcraft.

Quote from: screw actually quoting that longass post
Alright, Xan. Time for a contest. You and let's say Jim, given suits and identical fake resumes. See who can be more successful within ten years. My money's on the team player who doesn't trumpet about how superior he is to everyone.
This is actually kinda interesting. Can you elucidate about where we are?
I dunno. Let's say New York at the turn of the millennium.

So the Doktor is from this planet? Huh. Alrighty then.
Possibly. Or it could be a coincidence, with other worlds adopting similar speech patterns or the Doc just being more succinct than average.

If we're both dropped in Wall Street and told to advance up the ranks of a company, Jim may be the CEO after a couple years, but within a few months I'd be the entire company.
I doubt the latter. I'm having trouble imagining that happening, except perhaps by Xan either eating a bunch of people or becoming an entrepreneur.

"Also, why am I naked?"
On the bright side, Faith isn't anywhere close to Grate.
That is, indeed, a good thing.
Poor IronyOwl.

674
Oh.

...

Alright. Well, first I'd like to point out that I don't believe I was naked any of the previous times I respawned.

I don't actually think Selina's "Anything creation" power is all that OP. First off, doing anything that uses mana can cause her to become exhausted. Secondly, Kyle's tech is what his power pretty much is now. He has a personae, which prevents him from using his original power, thus making him an ordinary person. That means that Kyle's powers are his personae and any perks he gets from leveling up.
I do believe you're missing the point. The point isn't that this makes them good at fighting; the point is that they can make crap that makes various plot points irrelevant. The most prominent example is Selina's bracelets, but Kyle, Lunette, and the other major "crafters" have all made devices that have trivialized things that should take effort.
In the words of Taylor Herbert, "Fucking tinkers."

Quote
In fact, I think Will is more OP than Kyle, and Will is a normal person who happens to be a great tactician and good at swordplay and using true-word magic (granted he needs way more years of training to fully use them).
Wow. You're very very good at not understanding what makes someone OP.
What makes Will OP is not that he is good in combat, but that he trivializes the task of gathering information to some extent. He's less OP than Kyle and Selina because they trivialize more tasks, better.
