"By the way, did you guys know there's a beach in this school?"

6872
((Wait a sec. Hai's people ignored Will knocking over the first building, but freaked out at when he threatened to knock over a second? What the hell?))

"THEN YOU GO TO ME AND TALK TO ME ABOUT IT. This is what you should have done. Not knocking over buildings. I seriously do not understand why that wasn#t your first reaction upon being ignored. "Hey Hainuwele, your people are ignoring me, why is that? Is that really so hard to think off?" Instead, you went "Well, they aren't paying attention to me, lets threathen with a rampage.""
"Yes, because knocking over a couple of sticks and putting my foot over a few more is such a rampage. And if anything, you've been even less willing to reason with me than your people were being."

to Arya:
"This is where the contract with Amaterasu has been signed, and there was already a functioning keep that could house nearly 100 people. It made sense as the first choice, seeing as this is holy land. The majority of the buildings will be built right up to the wall of the keep, or inside the tree. The farmland is just a temporary solution, until we can be sure to have established a proper income from working for giants, so we can buy our food."
"...And what part of this justifies taking over her whole yard, without even asking? And if your keep, that you built yourself, can house half your population...why didn't you just build another?"

6873
"Fuckin' creepy..." Calvin mutters, still trying to find something interesting.

6874
((THAT WASN'T SUPPOSED TO BE WHAT WILL DID. But whatever.))

<Calling that one a building is kinda generous. It was just some sticks stuck in the ground and some blueprints. I think it was going to be a big outhouse.>

6875
1. "Inconsequential" and "Least Important" do NOT mean most important.

2. Sorry for being vague. I was trying to say that Will was working on doing what I said he would do earlier.

6876
<It doesn't have walls, let alone soap. If I'm not mistaken, they haven't even finished with the main support structure.>

6877
If we're going to metagame, let's not half-arse it. Anyone know how to make gunpowder?

6878
She's not really there much either. Really, if you thought that Arya was just there on occasion to make it seem like she owns the place and it wasn't just a base for the Northsdale Five you wouldn't be that far off.
You'd at least ask Maria, who is there. Or hell, Selina, who's practically a Ryan by now.
Neither of them own the house, or the yard. Arya would still need to be contacted about this.

But... Maria isn't. She's out jogging.

On that note someone should tell her what's happened when she gets back.
Bracelets?
We should definitely give one to her.

"People around here implied you were smart, a good problem solver, but I am not sure why. These are people who have lived their entire life fearing the threats of the giants. Now they see one for the first time, and just because they wouldn't immediatly jump up and have a talk with him he threathens to crush one of their buildings?"
"If you'll notice, I started by trying talking. Again, what else would I do? Do you have some kind of hotline I could call to direct me to the proper authority? Perhaps an Ambassador-Signal?"

Quote
"On the side, you were adressing political matters, these are *farmers*. They don't even have the authority to adress that topic with you, why would any of them step forward if clearly I am the one to discuss this with? Had you just patiently asked again, surely someone would have told you to ask me, but no, you immediatly start threathening to crush a building."[/size]
"You ordered them specifically to ignore me, as they did. Again, what other choice did I have?"

Quote
No matter how unimportant that building may look to you, it houses a mother, a father and 5 children, all their belongings and all their food. Excuse me if I make the comparison, but destroying buildings to gain political attention is the approach a terrorist would choose.
((I'm going to ignore any references to Will threatening a house because THAT DID NOT EFFING HAPPEN (he chose some unimportant building, as I clearly effing stated).))

"What, exactly is going on?"
Arya is standing in the doorway of her backyard. Something tells you she is NOT happy.
"Hai brought hundreds of her people to take over your backyard, and ordered them to ignore me. She then accused me of trying to destroy a family's livelihood when I put my foot over this." Will gestures to the half-completed soaper's building or whatever.

On a side note, historically, dictatorships were all but terrible. It's just that the meaning has changed over time. Technically, it means nothing more than a leader who rules through non democratic means, but nowadays the term has degenerated to petty warmongering menace to the world.
You have to admit, most recent dictators have been jerks. Maybe because all the nice leaders try democratic methods?

Quote
Anyway, Athenian democracy. For now, we get a simple direct democratic system were people vote on laws. We can later subdivide and specialize it.
I think we can stick to what we've probably been doing* for now.
*Which is basically the same, but without formalized laws.

I did put start and leaning in one sentence, which pretty much implied that this kind of shit will take off in like 15 turns at best.
Go ahead and make your peaceful settlement of exploration and agriculture. It doesn't matter what you do right now. In the end, it all comes down to a war.
And how the hell would we realize this? And why would we start leaning towards something we have no idea will hit some several centuries off?

6881
No. Hainawele is inflating Will's actions to demonize Will. You're the one not understanding here.
When Akroma (and all of his characters) are complaining about an action Will would not have taken, as is clear from how it was stated...it's his fault, not his character's fault.

the city is not even fully build yet, they started with the important ones.
Then, wouldn't the least important building be one that isn't even complete yet?

Quote
just one family. excuse me, but I do not quite believe that it's okay to destroy the house and belongings of *just one* family just to force them to talk to you is quite in proportion
I mean, even if it's the smallest and poorest and least important family, it's still all their belongings
Several things.
1. Again, Will would not have chosen a house if there was a perfectly good half-completed soaper's workshop or something around.
2. Will would not have carried through on his threat, especially not on a house...
3. ...and if for some Shys'm-Caes-forsaken reason he had to, he would carefully put a hole in the roof rather than smash the whole house to the ground and grind it to dust.
4. Since the fingerlings are about 4 inches tall, the house would either be pretty puny or not one he could easily do the grind-to-dust thing on anyways. He's not quite Godzilla; King Kong with muscle strain and anger-management courses at absolute most.

Well, Will shouldn't be crushing buildings.
He also wasn't. He also had no intention of crushing buildings.

6882
A letter lands on Will's head.

The envelope says 'Will are you being a dick?'.
Will snatches the letter from the air and puts it in his pocket without looking at it.

I'm not liking GWG's point of view here, while IC it would be indeed pointless to build any sort of walls or defences, we are out in open plains, by a a river, near the sea. After some time we're gonna get
ridiculous warpainted men on horses, screaming spears at us
even more hilarious blonde horn helmet raiders from the sea
optionally just boring old bandits from the forest or upstream
So it would only make sense to not completely focus on defences, but start leaning towards warfare, physical training, militia etc... surely with a population of 800 there are some crimes to be taken care of and laws to be enforced.
Well, some of us don't want to metagame...
Oh, and let me rephrase the only IC argument you have:
"We have a few ruffians. Therefore, we must start leaning towards warfare, physical training, militia etc, unlike literally every society of this kind!" Hell, we don't even have a formalized government!

I say no defenses yet. Instead, make fishing boats large enough to send up and down the coast.
+1

6884
Seriously, Akroma, you keep complaining about how Will's threat, if carried through, would have devastated the life of a whole zillion fingerlings, but I SAID IT WAS THE LEAST IMPORTANT BUILDING WHAT THE HELL. You're inflating Will's actions past what I clearly said they were to fit Hainawule demonizing Will.

6885
"Why you all sads? Wiwl no hurts you!" Meme is confused.

<No hurt tiny peoples! You scarwy to dem! You want talk, go be smally!>
Meme sounds very grown-up.
<I'm a bit worried about what their weapons would do to me if I was on their scale, Meme. And given how...unkind Hainawule was to me, and how abusive to "big people," I can only imagine what the more extreme members of her society would be like...>
<Besides, they probably still wouldn't listen!>

"It is Maria and Aryas concern, not yours. Since when are you her official proxy to talk in their stead?. And threathening to crush our homestead just because they weren't paying attention to you, do you have any idea how out of proportion your reaction is? If that is how you adress us *peacefully*, then by god, you are crazy. That's a *house*, people *live* in there. All their belongings are inside it. Do you have some sort of god complex that you would destroy an entire families lifelihood just to get some attention? Even the layar had better reasons for their actions than you."
((Again: I SPECIFIED HE WAS THREATENING THE LEAST IMPORTANT BUILDING. DO YOU KNOW WHAT LEAST MEANS?!? IT DOES NOT MEAN MOST!))
"I was addressing you peacefully. That failed. I took what means I had to get your attention. What would you suggest doing? Anyways, if you were listening, you would have discovered that I had every intent of not harming a hair on any of your swollen little heads. And how would I ruin their livelihood? I'd offer my help in rebuilding it, and you managed to build the house in a matter of minutes! Not to mention that I A, would have done my best to avoid damaging anything important--and my best is quite good--and B, I had no intention of actually carrying through with the implicit threat. I was only trying to get the attention of people who you, in your spite, specifically told to ignore me."

"And while I am not their proxy, you must be made aware of the courtesies you are ignoring, and no one else seems willing to stand up to your tiny tyranny. Seriously, have you given two seconds of thought as to what your settling here does to Arya and her family?"

Conny comes out and looks at Will.

"You sir, need to come over here and have a talk with me."
"Once Hai's done complaining about my threatening to crush a building."
