HEP is 1 shot per minute, so I doubt that. Would be fun though.
Assuming that terminal velocity remains constant (it won't), he'd need to shoot out three miles and almost two thousand feet (5.4 km) with every shot. But really, I think the bigger problem is that it gets really hot down there. Also, you'd be carving through the alien thingamabob.
