Those were times of scarce resources.
So's this one.
Hm, now what's one of the scarcest, most-desired resources in the West today...?

I'd say the violence in these religions inspired the people to survive and start a new era. Whether or not they were divinely inspired, they were what the people wanted and needed.
And thus religion is explained.

Those were times of scarce resources.
Some people will just make up any reason to beat up the anglo saxons...  :P
No, it's aliens, I thought we established this guys; come on, work with me here.
You guys are weird. Laughably so.

The fingerlings ignore Will, as Hainuwele advised them to
Will locates the least important building and puts his foot over it, threatening to crush it. If they keep ignoring him...
"Is anyone in this building?"
If not, he crushes it.

TA!Lyle was less of a wuss.
Sure. Sure.

Hainuwele has returned from China.
That was fast.

6904
Hainuwele has returned from China.

Alongside her come 200 fingerlings and their belongings, as well as food and livestock, to found the fingerling city-state of Yardistan. And what an industrious bunch they are. Half of them begin building field for various crops and miniature lifestock, using up most of the space in the yard, while the other half begins building cottages alongside the farms, as well as dozens of small houses in the tree in the yard. Meanwhile they will mostly sleep within the keep, and who knows how far they will be extending the catacombs below it.

Hainuwele watches over the whole thing with a satisfied smile, a gem signifying royalty now sitting in her sake-cup-helmet.
Will comes out back.
"A-hem!" If this doesn't get all their attention, he stomps his foot; if that, too, fails, he knocks over some inconsequential building.
"This is NOT your land. You need to ask Arya's permission before building things. She was fine with the keep, but that doesn't mean she'll be fine with you guys taking over her entire yard. Idiots."

"You come at a good time btw, we need to establish an income and a trade base for this city to flourish, so many of my people will soon go out and seek employment among the giants. Surely you can make sure they get a fair payment and proper working conditions, right?"
"Not nearly as effectively as the Australian government, which established laws for that a while back. What do you expect to be able to do, anyways? It would probably take two or three of you to efficiently operate a keyboard."

And at this point I'm genuinely surprised we still haven't run into anyone else throughout the 150 years of our history.
Maybe we should consider at least some rudimentary defensive palisades around the villages, the two camps in particular?
Why would we build defenses?

Also, we have five turns to do this, so we don't have to do it all at once.
Is there any reason not to?

I'd suggest waiting to hire staff until the last turn before prisoners arrive.

What would I have needed to roll to affect the game?
100. :P
...Then why did you roll?

"No, I mean what did us doing the mission do?"

I hardly even notice ER, but sure, have a subforum if you want to. It all boils down to whenever subforums are going to be handled like candy now, because that's what I fear might happen after the nth one gets made and dislike the idea thereof.
Slippery slope fallacy. Insert amusing and facetious comment here.

You're not thinking ahead though. Of course, nothing matches ER in its scope now. I'm saying that it should be a general-purpose subforum because eventually there will be other games like ER, and I can guarantee you, that some troll or another GM's gonna get mad and say that their game is as great as ER. This is a little bit of forethought to prevent unnecessary feuding.
Whatever subboardy rules we decide on (either general guidelines for getting a new subboard or specific ones for being moved to the more general "Epic Games" one), we need to make sure they're clear.

you would have to court martial xan first because actively tried to murder someone, i only tried to cripple you.))
((And you did so in a way that lead to death. Incompetence at attempted crippling should bump up your sentence.
Also, what murder are you thinking of?))
Yes it did lead to death, my death. Suicide is punishment enough for incompetance.
((Suicide isn't a puinishment at all. If you get a robody, it's a reward.))

Also, that guy was an acceptable murder by Doctor death match standards.

((Oh yeah, him. That. Also, it wasn't a CO and was back when murder was no biggie.))
((Pyros character is no more important than fishman was. we are all expendable and simus can be easily replaced if necessary.))
((Wrong.
A. Fishman was no longer active.
B. He was killed under previous laws which may no longer apply; has anyone checked that the murder-is-fine thing still applies?
C. In addition, he was killed under a sponsored program of killing!
D. Simus was your CO!
In short...your claims are something like if there was an Ancient Rome game, and you just killed the captain of the guard, then argued that the gladiatorial arena justified your killing of him. Only that only covered half the points.))

((And simus put herself in a position to be assaulted by being an insufferable arrogant twat.
((Yes, that's such an excellent defense. "He annoyed me, your honor! I had no choice!"
Especially since the annoyance was A. completely justified and B. agreed with by Steve.))

((Also i may be traitorous but simus is the ones with delusions of grandeur.))
((How, by exercising the rank Steve gave her? And then contacting Steve to confirm his approval?))

John leans over, hearing Angel.  He frowns, and places his hand on Angel's shoulder.
"Look, kid, think of it this way.  We didn't kill people- we hitched a ride on other people who did. They would have killed anyway- we just mucked around a bit.  Kinda... you ever played a video game?  It's like that."
"A little...not the shooty ones..."

"No, look, Angel. There was nothing you, or I, or anyone else could have done. Those people were looking out to kill you. You did what was right, trust me." Even Zechariah wasn't convinced by his own words. He himself didn't believe there was a justification for murder.
"This is a test. If we pass this together, we can help other people live. We can help other people be happy. We just have to make it through, despite whatever may happen."
Say what you will about children, they can be insightful. This half-hearted justification doesn't help Angel any.

"What Zechariah said sounds good.  And it is okay to feel bad about what you did.  What you have to realize is that you have saved many more people then those that died.  Think about those people, and what you did for them."
((I'm probably a horrible child therapist.))
((And I'm not a great child.))
Angel nods.
"...What did we do?"

((Simple practical power. Might want to change the minimum temperature to −273.15°C though. Anything below that is physically impossible.))
((You forgetting that there magic, physically impossible is a guideline. True that AZ is one of the more solid guideline.))

Eria watches Angel before offering her two labors(no form of currency) "When I first took a life, I also felt horrible. I will admit that your is worse for a first kill since in my case it was only one and I did hate the guy. What matter is what you feel. Feeling bad is good and as long as you remember that, you won't become something truly bad."
Angel nods.

Don't listen to GWG, he doesn't understand constructive criticism. Only criticism.))
((Go me.))

6913
Second deck, towards what I think is the back.
((Not going to spoiler because this is getting amusing out of context.))

That should be the supply room, I'm sure there's something in there you could bake a pizza with.
((It sure is.))
That's good to know.

6914
((Where's twelve coming from? Eight hours and three miles per hour would be twenty four.))
((A single square takes maybe half an hour or so to cross.
...Which I misread as half a day. So I halved it.

6915
"Being pale isn't so bad, unless you eventually turn invisible or something.
...
That would be soooo cool."
Interesting.

2)RotMG!Lyle is a wuss.))
And what, TA!Lyle wasn't?

Not much. Just waiting for the next terror that needs killing, especially if its a  WYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYRM!
You called?
...Wait. Hey!

((Actually, it's based on the concept of false vacuum metastability events which are hypothetically possible. The only real variations are that it possesses some sort of will of its own like the other concepts and that the cosmology automatically prevents such events from wiping the entire universe clean of life.
