Begin terrorist actions.
You begin terrorist actions. [17] It has no effect on gameplay!
Neh.
Out of curiosity, what size die was that?

Nah, nah. You optionally denounce the radicals, but then tell them to read the Bible/scriptures and see for themselves that violence isn't advocated.
But it is. Even in the New Testament! Hell, Jesus told his disciples to sell their cloak and buy a sword if they didn't have one.
Fucking hell.
Context: They are at the Last Supper, and about to make their escape from the city as fugitives. He is speaking only to the disciples at the time, and only in the context of them running.
Whoops, my bad.
1. This is truth. Jesus did say that, but He also removed the need for sacrifices (as a sacrifice Himself) and later the requirements regarding clean/unclean food were repealed.
By whom?

A lot of it comes down to whether you parse the Bible as entirely absolute instruction, or as containing large segments of laws that made quite a lot of sense at the time and kept a nation from destroying themselves prior to more sophisticated laws, healthcare, etc.
2. Not sure where you're going here. To be honest, not entirely sure where you were going with 1 either, but I think I've made a relevant point.
To be blunt, as long as people take the Bible seriously what the Bible says is important. If nothing else, you can (try to) shut down stupider arguments by pointing this out; "If you hate homosexuals/etc because the Bible says so, do you also not eat shellfish, not wear mixed fabrics, etc?"

I did add a disclaimer at the end of my post. That's my opinion; but I put it to you, can one be a Christian if one does not read about Christ?
Regardless of if one "can," a lot of people sure as heck try.
(And, really, what is a Christian?)

So which religion produces more violence, do you think?
Obviously, the most violent religion is Old Norse, where you go to heaven for waging bloody warfare and then dying in battle (or in childbirth, interestingly enough) :P

Maybe Aztec?
Neither of them had a terribly large following compared to major modern religions.

Most of the reasonably committed Christians I know read their bibles regularly.
Cover to cover, or selected passages?
Also, I have exactly the opposite observation, and since several of those Christians were my immediate family...
There is more to Christianity then your experience. I don't read the bible regularly, and my sister reads it every night (although not all in one sitting). There is more room in heaven and earth then is dreamt of in your philosophy, GWG.
Strangely, I had much the same point. Just because everyone Arx knows reads their Bibles regularly does NOT make that the paradigm for Christianity.

Again, one church of a religion of literally billions. With three separate main sects I might add, let alone the hundreds (maybe thousands) of little sub-divisions in Protestantism; some of which believe things almost resolutely opposed to each other. I for one know my homelands specific religious figures better then those of the Old testament; Of what households are you referring to?
The households that recognize names like Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Elijah, Samson...

And, as Wikipedia says: "The books included in the Old Testament (the Old Testament canon) varies markedly between Christian denominations; Protestants accept only the books of the official Jewish Hebrew Bible canon as their Old Testament but divide it into 39 books, while Catholics, the Eastern Orthodox, Coptic and Ethiopian churches accept a considerably larger collection of writings in their Old Testament canon." Which Old Testament are you referring to?
The general tones that people claim to follow. I suppose the King James Bible or variations thereof, since that seems to be the one considered "standard" from what I hear.

((He presumably has a squeaky little kid-voice.
Also he's pretty annoying, but then that a applies to a lot of characters, my current one probably included.))
((I think those fall more into "petty excuse for expressing omnicidal tendencies".))

CYOA: An acronym for Choose Your Own Adventure, a gimmicky genre of books (typically intended for children) which allows them to direct the actions of the protagonists.

The Bay12 CYOAuthorship So Far

You may be familiar with the concept of a Choose Your Own Adventure book. Have you ever considered writing one? So have I! And now we have a chance to work on one all together!

Concept
Obviously, before we can make a CYOA book, we need a pitch. It requires a title, a concept, and ideally the starting scenario. Example (based on a real CYOA book):
The Genie in the Bottle
You find a genie! What will you do? The protagonist finds a bottle containing a genie while walking along the beach, and the genie begins granting wishes to him.

Ideally, you'd provide a bit more detail, but hey, I won't judge if you only want to provide a few sentences. Just keep a few guidelines in mind...
1. Interesting: The concept should be, you know, interesting. At the very least, a science fair gone wrong or something.
2. AFGNCAAP: The identity of the protagonist should not be a major component of the story.
3. Open-Ended: Lots of potential things need to happen.

System
Everyone gets to submit Actions, much like a Suggestion Game. Also like some suggestion games, general success is determined by rolling a d20. Unlike a suggestion game, everyone takes their own path (more or less).
The Coauthors (y'all) start with 5 Writer Points (WP). You spend WP to either guide the story or occasionally make new options. They can earn WP as well.
The book is currently estimated to end with 75 action pages; once we get to 40-50 I will adjust costs and possibly page goals depending on the state of the book.

Coauthorship
The final order of "Coauthors" in the official list will be based on the following formula:
WP*(Pages Written+(Endings Written^1.5)) (minimum [Pages+Endings])
Whoever has the highest score will be first, followed by the one with the second-highest and so on. This formula may be tweaked without warning (on that note, please provide criticism), but in general the importance of saving WP for the end (eg, not spending too many), getting pages written, AND finding endings will be important. Think of this as a crude "High Score" list.

Cognition? Concepts? Condemnation?

((Plenty of IC reasons to kill Grate, last I checked. I'm sure a murder-y character could pick and choose. :P
((Name one. That applies specifically to Grate--"A desire to kill all living things" or something doesn't count.))

((PS. Whistling innocently is an in character action.))
((Really? 'Cause I've been doing my best to make it clear that that specific whistling was OOC.))

Powers gained by: An extremely strange group of events, beginning with him slipping and falling off a bridge, then him meeting an incredibly strange spectral humanoid, then being possessed by said specter until he had completed a task the specter had to complete on this world- during the possession, he had many superhuman abilities, but when the specter abandoned him, only one had remained.

Name: Rune (The ghost referred to him as "Rune", but he has no recollection of what his name was before it, or anything before the possession.

Description: A tall, slim man, usually wearing a fedora that hides his eyes in shadows. When his eyes are visible, they are haunted by past memories he will never forget.

Bio: Has no memories of past since possession. Before being called up by the beings, he usually hid from humanity, and never used his abilities.
((Remarkably...generic.))

((I'm gonna consume Grate if you whitle innocently one more time, man :P))
((Pretty OOC to me.
And franky...what else can I do? If Jim doesn't scare them, a proper appeal to authority won't, and Grate is about as much of a non-combat character as you can get.))

6942
I hope it works out that way.

A knife lands just in front of Calvin.
"Mister Calvin. No name calling."
It was the fairy. One may now notice that the pair are wearing prefect armbands. And the fairy speaks with an Australian accent.
"Huh?"
((A. He was referring to the fact that Noam's stomach was talking, not Noam itself.
B. Seriously, can you NOT make obvious expies of characters from RotMG? Seriously, I expect the Big Bad to be a Thinker named Bill.))
