((We suck less than will.))
Kyle walks into the temple.
<Hey Nuriel, do demons get pregnant?>
<No, not really.>

Quote
((To be honest he probably would have been smote.))
((Why do you think he was hiding behind the other gods so much?))

Will heads to Anima and puts the healing amulet on her.
"Selina, can I have that back when she's better?"

JERKS I HATE YOU ALL

((you arsefaces always do the cool stuff while I'm at work. :(
I've often expressed the same problem.
LIKE NOW.

Yes, that Osiris.
There's another?

Aspirins don't stop heart attacks.
Actually, they do help with some. Specifically, ones resulting from clots drifting to the wrong place.

Will and Hai receive 20 xp; 70 left for Will, 80 for Hai.
Woulda gotten more if you hadn't kept running it when I was gone.

Then again, dragons wouldn't ever be evolutionary feasible seeing as it would require selection pressure to be applied in favor of a creature breathing fire.
If we're going to worry about that, we need to get into the mechanics of firebreath.

You know, I think so far the only person who hasn't done something to piss of Ra is Kyle and the gods.
Will hadn't pissed him off...

I will point out that everyone is just pissing him off and Kyle is the one being level headed here. Something is very wrong.
Indeed.

Permission to deus ex Aria?
If you don't manage to calm Ra down sufficiently that he stops threatening death by burning.
Would Will's solution using the fireproof tunic have worked?

If it is hyperfertility though, at least Selina can have children now.
With people other than Kyle, that is.
Not that she'd have much chance of having children of her own.

Said without reading ahead: If you guys blew through the whole Ra thing while I was at work you are so--

"There. Some of the oldest temples in Egypt are there."
"...Is there a reason we didn't check there earlier? I mean, I appreciate the amulets, but still..."

"Well, I'm down. If you don't mind, I will later claim I actually contributed, eventhough the chances of that happening...if that's cool with you, of course."
"Only if I can make up a semi-plausible way for you to have helped."
Will is grinning.

Cyrielle teleports in. She is still concealing her features with her cloak and mask.
Will offers the dagger to her, handle side pointed towards her.

Sen exists and has returned from hell. She finds her bracelet and teleports near will. She still looks 15.

"I miss anything?"
Will raises an eyebrow curiously. "Yes. As did I. Mind if I asked why you're imitating an adolescent? You fit in perfectly fine before."

Hainuwele resist the temptation of asking why anyone thinks the egyptian gods matter anymore anyway, with Egypt being islamic.
[To: Hai] <The answer to your question is probably either "You should have gone before we left" or "They're gods. Anything they do matters.">

"Nefris is a wall, she will still be here later. Of course, since you are likely to die, you should probably say good bye to her."
"We could always try gagging him. Or leave him here."

Maybe you should keep the fireproof one just in case
Rubbing against Will
"True. Still, there's a bit of a problem in that tunics are a wee bit out of style. Maybe if it was turned into...well, darn near anything else."
<Anyone good at tailoring? Good enough that they could, say, turn a tunic into a type of clothing I could wear without being mocked or mistaken for a cosplayer?>

When the party arrives, the area is typical; ruined temples, obelisks and tombs.
"Ooh. Scenic."

He sees two things. Firstly, Ra, the falcon-headed sun god, clutching a knife and a khopesh, looking nervously around and seeing Kyle. He looks fairly paranoid.
The second is Anima. She's kneeling, blood coming from her mouth, head bowed and limbs bound, and she seems to be sobbing silently. Her mouth itself is gagged, presumably magically.
"Oh, who are you, precisely?"
"I am William Wyrd Warren, son of Walter Owen Warren and Jennifer Anna Warren. I come from a distant world, a world of different rules and different magic. I am also the friend of Isis, and have a certain power that will allow me to make sure you regret crossing me if I choose to do so."
Will pauses, pales, then hurries to get behind the other gods.

Cyrielle teleports in and changes forms though due to her cloak and mask, it isn't noticeable.
"We are here to negotiate a peaceful resolution."
"Is that not what Anubis, the traitor, said before he invaded my palace? Do not be so cowardly of your true intentions, mortal. Not like her, mortal."
He motions to Anima.
"Ideal world, we get peaceful resolution. The way things are going..."
Will crouches a bit, making sure Ra can't actually see any part of him. Still getting used to the whole this-guy-can-slay-you-with-a-thought thing.

"Do not get so HIGH AND MIGHTY WITH ME, JOHNSON."
Ra glows with godly light, as he points his khopesh at Anima's head.
"Make one move, and I end her. Convince me that I shouldn't."
"Do, and we make you regret it. Bastard."
Will is almost crouching in the midst of the gods.
Shut up shut up shut up...

"So, why should I not take my enemy out with me? I may as well, no? If there is nothing else for me but the elimination of threats, then surely I should take Isis with me, right?"
Ra seems unsure.
Will stands up and pokes his head out to the side of the gods.
"Sure. Lose your life to kill someone you don't like. How petty. How far the mighty have fallen. And that's enough," Will concludes, retreating back behind the gods.

Sen stares at Ra, "I wonder, do you remember me?"
<Probably not.>

"When has it been so, that a mortal throws down a god and takes his place? It is simply not natural--"
"I believe Kronos said much the same about gods taking the place of titans. Care to chat with him about that? It was discussed as a possibility."

"And how do I know it isn't merely a ruse to get her to be able to?"
"Hey, now you're just insulting Isis's intelligence. That's completely unfair, you know? Who the hell would be stupid enough to not gain complete control over someone so they could do so at a later date without the target suspecting it, and fail so badly that you know about it anyways?"

"Ah! What are you, nightmare, that dare do such things to a god? Do such, and the serpent will be worth her life!"
He prepares to swing. If anyone has anything to say, say it now.
Another quip about pettiness would have been uttered if you hadn't RUN THROUGH THE WHOLE GODDAMN CLIMAX WHEN I WAS AT WORK YOU JERK.

[Ra] turns to Cyrielle.
"Allah? Do not LIE to me. I know her but by ONE name.
Shys'm Caes, the Creator, the Demonslayer, the Bloodmorpher, God, whatever you call her. Even SHE is as flawed as a god."
"Damn sight better than you. When the world was threatened by an alien force, she took the first opportunity she had to fight back. You? You sat here, Orcus on his throne, growing paranoid and petty."
It should be noted that Will is by now hiding behind the gods again.

Quote
"Oh, I suppose Isis decieved you too, with her talk of protecting the weak and poor? Hah! She's only out for herself and herself alone. She never changed."
"Actions speak louder than words. Anima has been protecting the weak and poor as long as I've known her, and as long as these people have known her. And you expect us to believe the ravings of a mad god above what we've seen of our friend?"

"So this was your plan, to help her usurp me? She did indeed deceive you with her acts of kindness, her talk of protection and forgiveness, all a facade of LIES."
"Damn convoluted plan, neh? Why bother with a facade of lies when you can seize control any day with but a word?"

The sun....suddenly seems to freeze. Right on Anima. Oh dear.

Calm him down, somehow, I dunno.
Will tosses the fireproof tunic on her.
"This did come on handy."

And so...she did not lie? Did not scheme?"
Ra seems....surprised. And calmer.
"Shocking, isn't it? Not everyone wants to be on top, not everyone wants power."

((P.S. You guys suck.))

I had a scenario built around the Imperial Guard fighting the Orks a while ago, but it was lost due to Internet issues and I never rewrote it.
I don't think a game ending on the third turn would be much fun.
Hey, it's not that bad. The Imperial Guard get a lot of dudes. And actually have better guns.
Wait, the flashlights are better at beong weaponry than something?
:P

Anyways, if we're doing sci-fi stuff...how about a version of the XCOM base defense mission? Four elite XCOM soldiers, fighting waves of thin men and sectoids at first, before moving onto floaters and mutons, crysallids and berserkers, cyberdisks and sectopods...
Or if we want to go fantasy, how about vikingar defending their homes against the fringes of Ragnarok?
For a fusion, we could be a little group of security guards defending an Aztechnology facility from an unexpected Ares army, with some shadowrunner mercenaries mixed in?

You mean, I dunno, modern gangsters? Who love purchasing hats and suits and dress shoes and fancy watches all the time?
The upper levels, sure. The street folks? Can't imagine that would be practical.
...Probably applies to the Mafia too, though.

He didn't have an Italian accent, so he knew he had no chance at true class.
Please. Italian accent? English accents show true class.
French ain't bad, either. A bit more classical than class, though.

Yeah, no, that doesn't make any sense.

And I've already signed the no-unnecessary-trauma pact, so I couldn't agree with that even if I wanted to.

((We already control the world though. But building a laser on the moon is possible. It's on my to-do list, actually, right after "Build giant engines to fly Hephaestus", and "Make the Paracelsus' Sword transform into a samurai robot".))
((Ha. Ha. Ha.))

((We don't have any British people in the UWM, do we?
*raises hand*
((UWM, not ARM..))
((If they got sent to the HMRC, they were in the UWM. If they were in the UWM, others like them would be as well.))

Should I wait for bsnott?
Bsnott's most recent post in this thread:
In, human.
Due to his inactivity, I'd assume he's out until he says otherwise. I'd PM him but wouldn't delay turns for him.

<I would recommend that no one gets too attached to that assortment of amulets, weapons and whatnot, if this is resolved diplomatically, Ra would presumably want those back.>
<Well, duh. Thankfully, from a certain point of view, nothing was particularly neat. Kinda useful, I guess...I'd like to test it out later.>

Horus emerges from the hoard, looking tired.
"I know where to go next."
"Neat. Where?"

7434
...except due to their temperament, others are utterly convinced that they are a tsundere.
...Um, "Tsundere" is a description of temperment. They'd be right.

-snipped setting stuff-
Neat, but...with that low of a reproductive rate, dragons should have gone extinct long ago.
Except the protagonist isn't in love with anyone. A for the dragons, they don't have many threats to their lives seeing as they're essentially living WMDs.
In that case, it would have more to do with the fact that every other character sucks at reading people.
What about the babies? And really, every time one dies before reproducing it's one less dragon in existence, forever. Not to mention that they couldn't have evolved in the first place. Unless they were created pretty recently, they would have gone extinct long ago.

((Odd, @Elf's profile indicates that he is still active...))
Don't trust that. AFAIK, it goes based on whether any computers have them logged in.

((It's a miracle! When has Will ever resisted the opportunity to snark?))
Often. Usually to avoid hurting Kyle's feelings more.

7435
((NOW I can post for about a couple of minutes.))
One has a healing enchant, another shields its owner, and the third makes its wielder's attacks burn.

The dagger....well, the dagger's blade is eternally poisoned.
Will takes the first two amulets, pocketing the healing one and putting on the shielding one.
"Anyone want an eternally poisoned dagger? Or feel tough enough to see what the poison does?" Even as he says this, Will looks for a nice, non-sentient test subject. Maybe a rat?
[To: Will] <I would. The former not the latter.>
<Glad you clarified.> Will is not serious.
"Cyrielle wants the dagger; any other takers? First priority to those who actually made it through the gauntlet of traps, followed by those who helped with the manticores or some part of the subsequent investigation."

"Are you like, Egyptian or something?!
Will resists the urge to snark.
Successfully!

Hainuwele also takes the burning-attack amulette, unless grabbing dual-loot is bad
I'd worry more about using both at once.

((Too busy to answer one part of my post but not too busy to answer the rest?))

"...Useful." Will seems to be disappointed.

He starts inventorying and identifying the amulets.

7440
And no Will you can take the dagger its much more your style.
You say that like we know what either of them does.
And Will isn't exactly a close-combat specialist. Despite what D&D has taught us, daggers are not always balanced throwing knives.

But I already have three. I think the limit should be revoked just for the possibility of an army though.
you misspelled *harem* there
...His harem including a manticore and Merlin?
Ew.
