"Paper-demon, I know many enchantments I can curse you with. I fear neither you, nor the desert-god, nor the many-killer you bring to intimidate me."
"How about me?"
Will steps forward.
"They say that what you fear is the unknown. Not quite true. That which you know can also frighten you...and, equally notable, one who knows you can be absolutely terrifying.
"What do I know? Everything, dear deity, everything. Shall I begin?"

(Plan: If I must, begin revealing secrets about him, starting with fairly inoffensive ones and moving onto more dark and terrible ones. Presumably a Mind roll?)

if the power can't be turned off, then maybe a bit of focus and mana is what's needed to actually filter the useful information from the useless ones? He could be permanently drowned in so much information and conclusions that filtering out just one would be difficult
1. His power helps him sort through large amounts of information and find the relevant bits already.
2. If you just need to focus, that's not much restriction, is it?
3. I prefer the idea that use of the power causes headaches. Keeps Will closer to his roots.

which reminds me, is that game dead?
Which game?

Feel free to ignore and continue with your debate. I just wanted to share this thing for some reason.
I much approve of Hai playing with dolls.

"I said I was sorry for almost eating you. I swaer if I ever do it a gain I'll eat the other end."
You charmer.

7593
Camille may or may not grab Horus and bring him, along with Jacque (because an immortal killer is good for gunboat diplomacy) and whoever else is interested, over to Sen. I'm not really sure how Bracelet Teleportation works exactly.  :-\
Will also goes.
I think we've teleported there?

((I will not describe a thing. Everything that comes to mind is just your own mind filling the chaos, which is more of a reflection upon your own mind. With that in mind, it's whatever you think it is, not that I know what you think))
What does it say about my mind if I can't think of much of anything worse than the underwear? Certainly nothing she would have more than one of.

His touch phobia could come from all the horrible things he has seen when he turns his powers on, rather than seeing them all the time
The cause has been quite clearly noted, as has his inability to turn off his power. This latter has also been shown in internal conversations with himself, where he gripes about his power pointing out the obvious.

Convenient uses: cooking, torches, flaming arrows, etc.

Best one being setting Hai's needle on fire to burn things. Or sterilise objects.
How often does cooking come up?
Torches are similar, with the additional caveat that others *cough*Conny*cough* would be much better-suited for dealing with that problem.
Flaming arrows require a bow, and are just a different way to burn things. Especially since burning arrows suck at normal arrow stuff.
How do you set a needle on fire?
Why would we ever need to sterilize something?

Did Kyle actually manage to shut Will up by talking about forming hard lasers?
He's learning to pick his battles. Also, Kyle was running off.

considering nuriels tendencies, I figure the chance of the pan melting may be higher than the food being done properly
I wasn't saying that she could do that, I was saying that he doesn't get to complain about Nuriel not being as versatile when the whole reason for it is that he decided that she didn't have very good control of her flames.
Less "can't control," more "doesn't bother to control".
And yes, there are some niche uses of Nuriel's power, but they almost never come up. And in the case of cooking, I'd be less worried about the fire than the...anything else. Demons don't have to eat, so Nuriel never learned to cook.

it's versatile enough, you wouldn't believe what being basicaly a sentinent inferno can do to your diplomacy rolls, if used right
anyone here can do gunboat diplomacy.

7595
Bad example, because Nuriel's basically limited to blasting things in various ways. And jet-propelled flight.

Those are the largest ones, yes. Along with how absurd the game is overall.

7597
Kyle yells something about the formation of a hard laser as he rides off.
"..."

((How has she read his mind here? Waiting until jack makes the next move is what *she* is doing, wether will is going to do the same, well, good for him))
<If you agree that her body count is way too big for her to just sleep soundly on the couch...>
The only indication that this might be the case is my note that Will was planning to sleep lightly and with his bracelet on.

((Yes, curse you permanent guests and fridge raiders))
Yeah, that's getting silly by now. Two admitted serial killers have entered in the past half-week, we might need to revamp this thing.

Oohhhh damn.

She finds....a cave. Specifically, one marked with the seal of Thoth. Set looks pissed.
".. Bastard broke into my armoury!"
((... He actually marked the cave with... Nevermind.))
If he's in the cave and can tell it's marked, the markings are inside. Which makes sense.

"So on a scale of one to demon how nutty is Ra now?"
Says the demon.

that's...not so much of an exchange, is it?

if my power was apple, and I exchanged that for an apple AND a bananna, I'd more call it *expanded*
Only if the apple was the same size as the original. Kj's complaints about the air powers pretty clearly indicate they aren't.

but why?
*throws up hands*
Because Persona.
It makes as much sense as shooting yourself in the head with a fake gun to summon mythological figures.

not the occasion to which the resistance applies, I mean where and how he got it
I mean, he didn't start with it, or did he?
He got it upon level up, after acquiring a Persona. I roll every time Richard, Yuri or Kyle level up to see if they get a new move.
...They're going to be getting more abilities? While everyone else only gets stats? Geez.

One thing that occurred to me about Will's power: Tattletale had problems with headaches when she overused her powers. Perhaps the MP represents how close he is to that?
The problem is that Will is stated to have even less ability to turn off his power than Tattletale; he would logically be leaking MP all the time. Remember how part of his touch-phobia has to do with his powers informing him how filthy and germy everything is? This change quite easily has the possibility to make him worse than useless if done wrong.
Another possibility is much like what wildbow did with Worm to keep Tattletale from being OP: Don't give her access to all the information. Him, if we're applying this to Will. This requires a little more ingenuity with developing the plots, though--having the object of the plot just walk up to the door and start chatting with Will and the others wouldn't work.

<It's hardly a paranoid thought that a serial killer might lie to us to avoid consequences of being revealed. I doubt she could have been able to take all of us on at once, she literaly had no choice but to tell us her stories about redemention just to avoid being killed on the spot. I'd never trust a statement that is made in a situation where said statement is the only way to survive.>
<I'm picking nothing suspicious up at all from her, that's enough for me. And besides, we don't all sleep here, and the ones that don't include some of our toughest, like Kyle, Nuriel, and currently Ms. "I have contracts with the gods". Oh, and one god staying here who doesn't sleep, unlike Jac. Killing us would be remarkably short-sighted, especially as A. you're the only one to have shown suspicion to her and B. the screams of the first person she killed would alert the rest of us.>
<And...well, remember how it was not too long ago? An admitted serial killer walked to the house, admitted to killing immense numbers of people, and was invited to stay despite one person's objections.>

<See that's why you murder in bulk. Kill less than a hundred and you sleep in the back yard. Kill around 250 and you sleep on the couch. Kill an entire village and you get your own room.>
<Hilarious. Almost as funny as a joke about dead babies.>

[Horus] speaks a bit in Ancient Egyptian, then Coptic. He seems to be semi-lucid.
"Do you speak English? [Do you talk Italy?] {Do you speak Latin?} (Do you [wrong honorific] word Japan's?)"
"I'm out of languages I know even bits of. Help?"

Spider Jokey Tiny Kyle rides by.
"Anima is Isis!"
Will facepalms.
"Go away, Kyle, the grown-ups are talking. When you're back to normal size, you can rejoin us; a brain as small as your current one is incapable of advanced thought."

So your problem is that my character who's skill in being a negotiator is being a negotiator? The rolls rule and they e gone my way especially in the recruitment phase.
Player even commented on how lucky I'd been.
I didn't expect the +1 to law enforcement at all I gave him injuries to fit his back story of going into lots of fights. I made him a bit paranoid to fit his families death because a cop sold him out. The +1 wasn't my idea I didn't even know it existed until he told me once we started.
Which part of this makes your character come off as less of a Mary Sue? The only change is who is supposedly to blame.

Quote
I have no problems with you going after the root of the problem.
Your character sure seems to be implying otherwise, with how he keeps saying that the only way we can stop crime is to kill it all.

Quote
I can train some negotiators for you if you want to help you with it and do the same for the others if they want to be free of me so they can do negotiating for themselves.my e Bern pretty free with all my skills and resources.
1. Negotiators aren't what I need. Lobbyists, maybe.
2. Remember what I said earlier about everyone being reliant on you, and how that's bad for balance and whatnot?

You're failing to realize what Carl's intended methods are.

Violence when violence is needed, yes, but violence can't solve the problem. He intends for STING to also work at the root, not just gunning away the worst of the leaves.

The problem with them relying on you is that it concentrates the power of the Directors into you, because the others wouldn't be willing to risk losing your support. Moreover, your character is increasingly coming off as a Mary Sue; having half the council rely on you just emphasizes this.

Patrick Hunt, I am honestly considering having Carl leave STING at the first opportunity, and this is entirely due to your character. Consider this for a sec.

has confessed to being jack the ripper and that she spent the last 100 years murdering her way through the world. she is plenty guilty. hainuwele simply lacks proof that she can't be trusted, while jack lacks proof that she can be trusted.
Isn't the subject at heart if she should be trusted or not?
And if we're going to put Jack on trial, we're going to put Hainawule on trial. You can't have double standards just because one was supposedly in self-defense. After all...
1. Hai's problem was easily solved with simple signage, and she killed innocents.
2. Jack's been killing criminals for over a century, and she has to do it to survive.

as for elf not working out with you how the stuff works, well, it might be for the best to get that discussion going then. GMs and players alike benefit from knowing the limitations of an ability beforehand. eventually, there will be a misunderstanding at a crucial juncture. it makes the GMs job significantly easier if the game is not disrupted mid-play by long discussions
Yeah.

I am not argueing, for the plot I have in mind, I really have to know where Wills limits are, beforehand. I don't wanna have to arbitrarily somehow keep Will away from it, should he express interest, nor do I want discussions with GWG when he does what he thinks should be no problem, while I think that this shouldn't be possible. It's in a GMs duty to try and spot disruptions like this *before* they become relevant.
Yes, because that's all you were arguing abour.

what's kyle power anyway?

I only got that he is super sturdy
Way back when, it was air magic. He's exchanged that for a persona with air and healing powers.

7603
<At least there is someone else in the house who think having an eye on a world famous serial killer doesn't become unneeded just because that serial killer happened to also kill off a few bad people along the line>
<"A few"? She's been killing criminals most of her life--the line of murders of the most heinous criminals trails back over a century. Of course, over a thousand murders might seem like a few given how little you seem to care about the forty you claim to have murdered.>
<The god of stories himself made sure to point out that the number was much lower than I initialy made it out so be, thank you for your selective memory.>
<I was saying that you were blase about supposedly killing forty people.>

<Anyway, just a while ago you were very much defending her. If you agree that her body count is way too big for her to just sleep soundly on the couch, then you should have voiced that concern when we still were deciding on it. Now it seems we will have to content with waiting until she makes her next move. Leaving her the time to plan and the innitiative on when to act is very dangerous.>[/size]
(Um...Hai doesn't have mind reading. How the hell does she know Will's plans for the night? But hell, let's roll with it, because you hate retcons.)
<There's caution, and then there's paranoia.>

7604
of course Hainuwele has no proof - neither has Jack.
Isn't it innocent until proven guilty, not the other way around?

Quote
anyway, I would not rely too much on Will's power of figuring things out making him always aware of anything at all times.

because frankly, if it is a constantly active passive that requires neither roll nor mana, it's more overpowered than anima, that would burst any plot that is not focused on fighting.
You know, Elf and I never really worked out how it worked for the most part. A few specific examples, sure, but not in general. Guess that's what happens when you import a character wholesale from one RP to another.

:3
Akroma? No comment.
Gold? Nope, truth. immortal serial killer or not, get shot enough and you're gonna pass out. She didn't know what exactly would happen until she was tied up in a room with her knives taken.
