<At least there is someone else in the house who think having an eye on a world famous serial killer doesn't become unneeded just because that serial killer happened to also kill off a few bad people along the line>
<"A few"? She's been killing criminals most of her life--the line of murders of the most heinous criminals trails back over a century. Of course, over a thousand murders might seem like a few given how little you seem to care about the forty you claim to have murdered.>

Stop predicting the future and using half truths?
The full truths are long and complex, and not exactly better.
Without predicting the future, how can we move forward any way but blindly? We are imperfect, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't bother trying to figure out what will happen if things go down their current path.

Quote
I never said kill all criminals I've specifically said I support you trying peaceful methods even if I doubt it works.
And your character came of to Carl as adding "And when you fail, I'll go back to shooting crime into submission." More or less.

Quote
I said they didn't agree to join for pay not that I wouldn't pay, I specifically said I'm working on funding options for that.
Regardless, you somehow managed to get them to agree to a job where they'd be getting shot at even more than normal cops without the promise of a single penny.

Quote
Me, Vic and the doc are co-operating fine. I gave doc men for his job and he agreed to get them into training, Vic is training people mine included and I got her the kit she wanted.
Congratulations. You're getting half the people to...rely on you and your superhuman abilities to get crap.

Quote
Hell KJ is even monitoring the Rebs safe house at my request and Super went scouting for me, we may not he best of friends or even like each other but were cooperating in a relatively civil manner which considering we've known each other less then a day ain't bad.
"Doing tasks related to the same goal" is not "cooperating". If it was, France and England were cooperating during colonial times.

Quote
The only one I'm not actively working to support at this point is you predominantly because your to busy being defeatist to actually do anything productive. It hasn't even been a day and your giving up.
I am not giving up. It's just that I don't support your methods because they're doomed to fail.

Will's power detected nothing, but just to be on the safe side he will be sleeping lightly and with his bracelet on.

Edit: Hey, 2k pages!

would be a shame, because re-reading what jack has said and done so far, she has done an absolutely brilliant job of playing her cards at the likes, dislikes, stereotypes and prejudices of the group. under the premise that it was her goal the entire time to infiltrate our group and possibly kill us, her execution of that plan has been flawless to the point where it actually seems believable that she as the most famous serial killer of all time succesfully evaded capture for over a century.

just think about how absolutely brilliant the rape lie (assuming it is a lie) is placed. even if you don't believe it, none of the chars would dare to accuse her of lying, for the sheer social backlash alone. and even if they did, all that is needed is her tearing up and doing that knee-hug fetal posture and immediatly 2d6 other characters will jump to her defence. on a side note, that would be a whole lot less grimdark than an actual rape victim.
Excellent theory. And if rag has forgotten that Will should have picked up on that, he should be ashamed of himself.
You see, Will's power is very good at detecting liars.
(And since when has grimdark stopped us, Ms. Mass Murderer and Proud Of It?)

Jack the Ripper is not Kratos. He specialized in killing prostitutes, who are known neither for their combat skills nor for ganging up in packs. Her more recent victims were killed in their sleep. Jac is more of an assassin than a front-line combatant...and anyone without significant combat magic is going to lose to a mob.
yes, an assassin that kills people in their sleep. it's as you said, her weapons are wile and cunning, and man, she got most characters utterly disarmed and could off nearly any of them now. sometimes, the stealthiest approach is not just the old-fashioned sneaking stuff, but making the enemy believe that he has the assassin all figured out.

for someone with 100 years of experience, it might not just only be easy to pull off, it might simply be a game. eventually even murder gets boring, and must be spiced up
Remarkable that you take a quote entirely out of context. I was responding to your claim that she should not have been able to resist the Black Vipers.

Now onto your argument. Yes, she could be just playing us, but...well, aside from your suspicions, there is no evidence for it, and given that Will's power is perfectly suited for detecting this kind of thing, it would be rather cheap of ragnarok to have it work anyways.

((...So the third set of things you have wanted her to make?))
...What? Selina hasn't made anything for Will that I can recall.

7611
<Ghost added the affect before turning back into Selina last. Takes about 75 mana per continent and or ocean, but you can teleport to other bracelet users with them now.>
<Useful.>
Will begins making changes to one of the blueprints he had made and recopied it for when Selina would actually remove them as repeatedly suggested.

7612
well, shysm'caes is *the* god, and likely played part in the invention of death, so he doesn't really count into a statistic
1. She.
2. Even only counting lives she ended herself, with her own hand or magic.

Quote
as far as redemption goes, as I said, if Will believes in the law so much, there is plenty of resozialisation to be had in prison
Depends on the prison system. Most aren't so great.
Also, have I mentioned that she would die if we put her in prison? Prisons tend to look poorly on those who kill fellow prisoners. Any prison sentence is in reality a death sentence. If we're going to kill her, say that and don't just say we're locking her up without considering the consequences.

Quote
that being said, from an ingame perspective, Hack is doing an aweful lot of grinning, and clearly enjoys a bit fo cat and mouse. just look at how bored she was when we wanted to cut straight to the truth. there is a very real possibility that she is toying with us. I mean, she is basicaly telling us exactly what we wanted to hear - all of it unconfirmed.
Hack? I assume you mean Jack?
Well, without illustrations, it's hard to tell what kind of grin it is. It could be an "I'm glad to get this off my chest" grin as much as a "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy" grin--and the first seems likelier, because it would be kind of negligent to have her smiling the second way without any kind of hint at that by rag.

Quote
it would be a dangerous underestimation to assume that she is not able to put up a bit of opera, tucking at the heart strings of people that she thinks might be easy to manipulate. It may very easily be all a lie. I mean, the whole rape backstory, nice and shocking to immediatly harness a lot of sympathy and understanding for the latest murder, but [jedi voice]search your feelings, something here is odd[/jedi voice]. Even assuming that she doesn't want to kill people who are mind controled, that doesn't imply she would be unable to stop them. Beat them up, or simply run away - even with mindcontrole, they were ordinary humans. That jack the ripper is unable to escape from them...I have my doubts. Moreso I have my doubts that a serial killer would hold up her will for redemption so high that she would rather be raped than hurt those poor mind-controled gang members

Quote
I for one am convinced that ragnaroks plot is far from over. A character gets picked up on the street, while the TV basicaly just insta-solves the plot and bam, member of the group? Either Rag's "plot" is just another way to introduce his new side character, or this was just the prolouge
And if it is, we'll have to see what it is. It could as easily be an enemy of Jac's coming by as Jac herself turning on us.

You forget, Akroma, that this happens to be the anti-grimdark game by dint of being a magical girl game.
Wait, it is? We've been doing it wrong all along, then, what with child abuse, parental abandonment, almost-casual destruction, demonic possession, characters boasting about killing people who stumbled across the wrong area and being accepted without complaint from much of anyone...

I was just playing in the ooc thread. Nothing I say in it is overly serious. He mentioned attacking me so I mentioned what I would do in return.
If I was actually going to do something I wouldn't be giving advanced warning.
Still very threatening.

Quote
I discuss loyalty with all my recruits, primarily to check they aren't working for a gang or some other group. I don't wanna recruit a spy.
I also have 2 people doing oversight for my actions so that's 3/6.
How do you trust those people?
And is your character not only someone who magically makes crime vanish by killing all known criminals, and who can convince strangers to work indefinitely on a highly dangerous project for no pay at all, but also a mind reader/lie detector?

Quote
Lol you tried to end the game 2 turns in?
Dear Governor,

As much as I hate to admit it, this project is swiftly becoming a failure.
The Directors are unable to cooperate with each other and each seem to have their own intents. One plans to kill any criminals he can, another is starting a cult, and others are pursuing plans less absurd but equally unrelated.
Moreover, it seems that this organization is taking a dark turn. There are discussions of how best to abuse our secrecy, our immunity to legal prosecution. I fear that if this organization grows, it will fulfill these dark nightmares.
Police officers have been "hired," with the individual who hired them gleefully talking about how they don't need to be paid. It's hard to say, but I think there will be a great gain in misery if we hire many people.

Moreover, the original purpose of the group--to stop organized crime--is going to fail disastrously.

I advise immediate termination of the STING project.
Sincerely,
Carl Anderson.

Yes, Carl is trying to end STING. He doesn't see how it will cause anything but despair and destruction. What would you do?

7614
you forgot that it was clearly stated that Jack is killing criminals *now*

she has been killing for a hundred years, and clearly stated that in the beginning, she killed out of sheer passion in killing. research on the topic indicated that in the beginning, she killed *daily*, and only begun slowing down over time. the 250 murders I mentioned earlier were the absolute minimum that she would have needed to stay eternaly young and vital, but 500 or more is very likely. And considering she only turned to a slow rythm of taking out horrible criminals only relatively recently it is safe to assume that at least more than half of these, if not 3/4rd have been killed for the joy of killing
And redemption isn't a thing?

Quote
note how she doesn't *just* kill them even, she then completely disassembles them in true psycho killer fashion.
Again, what she does with the bodies isn't my concern, especially given the implications that it's part of how the killing stops her from dying.

Quote
compare that to the 4 (or if will still believes the lies, 40) that hainuwele has killed, and there miiight be a bit of disparity here.
Again, redemption and regret. Hai has not tried to redeem herself and has not shown any regret.

Quote
there is a difference in motive too, because hainuwele was protecting her entire race from a danger that she perceived to be very real, after witnessing some really fucked up slaughter that man can bring upon her people. on top of that, she is a soldier, and carried out orders.
1. Her people wouldn't have to kill much of anyone if they took basic steps to keep people away. You'd better believe that most people going through a national park would stay away from anywhere marked "Danger! Do Not Enter!"
2. The "I was just following orders!" defense is so lame...especially when one considers the pride and joy Hai got from "following orders".

Quote
then there is jack the ripper, who kills soley for the single reason of being and staying immortal. "I killed half a thousand people and will continue to do so until the end of time so I can live forever" is usualy prime material for villain backgrounds.
Who wants to die? And...look at the future.
She will continue killing rapists, murderers, and so forth. There will be fewer such individuals. This is generally considered good, especially since she focuses on ones who can't or won't be caught by the police.

Quote
trying to make hainuwele seem as a worse killer than jack the fucking ripper is simply impossible. the overwhelming number of deaths alone is just staggering.
Jack the Ripper? Yes.
Jacqualine, who has shown regret and is trying to redeem herself, and who will only be helping the world in the future? Nope.

Really, going by pure bodycount, Shys'm Caes is the most despicable bastard in the entire party by a long shot.

[To: Elf] <Can't we just assume that she has an acceptable magic input because Cado and never talk of this again?>
((Uh... yeah... I assumed it was D&D esque Cleric powers...
No! Don't!
Clerics are the second- or third-most-powerful class in D&D, and most classes are already at a higher power level than what we have.

How am I forcing? I've been asking you first and going with your ideasBesides my bonus doesn't allow me to do it I got lucky on my recruiting rolls.
Actually, I seem to recall your character resisting the idea of anything except killing the bad guys until they go away and that you have OOC threatened Blank with the threat of dozens of officers who would, semiquote, kill him before he got within 50 yards.

Quote
And the cops are loyal to me because I specifically worked to make them loyal to me during my recruitment because everyone is so scattered.
Mm-hm.

I think we should reserve judgement on that until we see the behavior of NPCs that aren't John. We're only on Turn 3 after all, I'm sure there's still a lot going on in the backgrounds that we don't know of yet.
There sure is.
Dear Carl,

It is noble of you, but I'm afraid I cannot shut down STING.
Sincerely,
The Governor.

I'd do the same. And yes, the governor did basically just say "No." with no explanation of any sort. For reasons that may come into light later on.

Ever heard of a joke?
Ever heard of "threats of homicide are never to be taken as jokes"?

I want to make it into a "turn anything with an atomic structure into a potential mushroom cloud"))
((Sounds dangerously close to Dr. Device.))
((Nah, the Doctor Device was a hell of a lot more destructive than that. That's just complete fission (which actually takes energy for anything above iron, and considering most things that you could target with such a device (other than anything armor-plated) are made of elements lighter than iron, it's kinda pointless). The MD just broke molecular bonds, but it used the energy released from doing so to expand the field.))
((I know, but the possibility of--spoiler alert--blowing up a whole planet still seems to be there.
Of course, not having anything but BFEL's brief description of the intended effects, I can't say how likely it will be that something like this will actually be a concern.))

...it's really the reason nobody tries making fission generators on iron fuel.
((Doesn't fission of iron also take more energy than it releases?))
