Roll To Dodge / Re: Tribulations in Magic: a Perplexicon Game.
« on: January 21, 2014, 11:33:56 pm »
With magma, it is almost completely focused on the part it hits, only burning other parts if the exposure is too much and context allows to do so.
Convection schmonvection.
Actually, heat from mere proximity to lava isn't all that dangerous.  It's like being near a fire- hot, but just uncomfortably so.  The real danger is the toxic gas that it releases.
It depends on how hot the lava is (of course), how much lava, how close, and what direction (3 feet above is more dangerous than 3 feet to the side, since heated air tends to rise). Other factors, too, but they're a bit harder to pin down in exact numbers.

[To: Ester] <Kyle: Can impregnate people he logically shouldn't be capable of. Don't sleep with him without protection and you should be fine.>
FTFY.
And that's just an overview of the biggest threats, remember.

Every ship is possible. Even CharacterIHaven'tIntroducedYetxAnyone
False if I ever make a character.
Prove it.
Protip: Kyle hits on basically every girl who at least started puberty. And also gets shipped with any guys he decides to prank by kissing.

I still support SenXAlbrecht. But it be weird due to age gap of 4400 years >.>
Technically at that point SenxAnyone is creepy.
SenxNuriel?

"Okay. Do your parent ever leave the house for anything? Because it seems like they just constantly are around."
<Work and stuff...>
((When was the last time we went to school? Before the manticore attack, I mean. Assume that stuff happens offscreen.))

Will, I know it's different, but what if she is wrong about their guilt, which is the main reason I am opposed to the death sentence
"Ninety-odd percent sure she makes sure they deserve it before they die. Like her latest victim, who raped her first."

"But thats like, bad! Good people don't like, kill people!"
"Ideal people don't kill people. Good people sometimes have to. And you don't have to be good to not be bad. Overall, she's better than some people..."
Will gives a significant look towards Hai.

[To:Cyrielle]<Then for now I'll jut keep following pestilence and group. I think when this is over I will head to hell and get me a nice title. I may even go for Marquis, I do love flaunting my power to poor weakling demons.> Sen makes a cheerful mind laugh at the last part.
Nuriel twitches.
"That was odd."

"So, Ghost, can I have Selina for a while."
Will smirks. Nuriel snickers.
"Can I join, too?"

Kyle sighs and takes her up to her room.
Nuriel follows.
<...What do you think they're thinking of doing?>
<What do you think I think Kyle's thinking of doing?>
<Do you really think Kyle would do that?>
<Maybe, and I don't want to miss it!>

Kyle starts lightly hugging Selina.
"Nothing is going to happen yet. Just calm down."
Selina just focuses on breathing to try and calm down.
Nuriel picks her up and cuddles her until she calms down. Or until Kyle expresses a desire to give her a back rub.

Kyle starts moving upwards continuing with the pattern. As he approaches her wings he changes to deep kneading around the bases although he stops on occasion to comment on how pretty her wings are while stroking them.
"And when was the last time you complimented my wings?"

Kyle goes downstairs to relax some more.
Nuriel follows, glaring at Kyle.

Finish comforting.
Ask name.

7640
Why not give each of us a civ?

Name: RUSSIAN TERRORIST SQUAD
Starting Biome: Destroyed city

These are those a-holes from all the Battlefield and CoD games.
And to a lesser extent:
Name: The Doomed Failings
I think he wants some more serious stuff.

Name: The proper name of our mighty empire will become clear in time.
Starting Biome: Floodplains, with a mighty river running through, near the ocean. On the warm side of temperate; dry winter freezes are just a bit over a month by Earth reckoning (what are lunar cycles in this world?), and summers are sweltering and drenched with terrible thunderstorms and the occasional hurricane.

Teutonic Plates
If that's what Teutonic Plates are, what would Tectonic Knights be like?
(The joke being based on the Teutonic Knights.)

Also, you're a bit late to have the first mountains.

7643
((...are we SERIOUSLY shipping Jack the Ripper with Kyle? Wasn't Pestilence bad enough?))
Kyle ships KylexEveryone and does everything he can to make that ship come true.

7644
Horus is unconscious on the couch. And doesn't wave back.
Nuriel does not care.

"Ah, look at Will suddenly defending murder."
"Yes, because serial killers and rapists are clearly on the same scale of evil as people who accidentally walk into a random unmarked section of forest."

Quote
"That's already well over 250 people not *just* killed for food, but then also slowly dissected for some sort of twisted pleasure. No body does that kind of weird shit to their food."
"Yes, how horrible of people to chop up animals they intend to eat rather than swallowing them whole!"

Quote
Hainuwele walks off, mostly because @Akroma needs sleep. cya tomorrow
See you then, enjoy the sarcasm!

((Quick! Pair her with Kyle and everyone can be happy!))

"Isn't Angel grounded? Why are you out of the house?"
<Not my idea.>
"Planning to help you all kill the serial killer."

7645
"You don't bloody GET it, do you!? I stop, I die! And if you're gonna condemn me to a slow, painful bloody death, then ya might as well just bury me now an' be bloody done with it!" She growls, eyes narrowing, flashing with anger. "If I don' kill someone, I die within about a month. Those are the rules. And even before that, it gets harder and harder to control myself, to keep followin' my rules. Only those that deserve it, only those the authorities can't catch or can't handle. If you all can't deal with that, then either get ta lockin' me up, kill me somehow, or let me the bloody hell go."
"Bloody jolly wo'ld, ain't it?"

"Nuriel. You should know by now that being rough with me will only get me going. Oh, and Horus is on the couch."
"You deserved it."
Nuriel half-heartedly waves at Horus.

"She clearly has left her humanity behind a long time ago. If she really cared about it in any way, she can at least die as a human, but continueing as a human? I hope history will look back at this day and don't judge us too harshly for not ending it here. But sure, do with her as you will, I am not going to interfer.
"Who are you to judge what is human, little missy?"

Quote
On a different topic, I assume killing animals has been completely ruled out?"
"If it wasn't, she'd probably get the quota on accident by squashing bugs and whatnot."

7646
((what did I miss, who was killing people?))
For once, Kyle was right. Just for the wrong reasons.

((Kyle, Camille, unconscious Horus, Hai, Alice, Jaq and Bismuth, and Ghost.))
Also Will.
((Did she? -_-
Very well, exception accepted. Though how she added it without Alex knowing...))
Alex needs to make sure he doesn't accidentally give administrator privileges to random people.

((That is literaly the biggest and most commonly named downside of being immortal that gets mentioned in fiction. *forever* is a damn long time. A mind can only handle that much))
Insanity does not automatically follow immortality. It's more of boredom/loneliness caused by immortality, and there are ways around this.
Besides, when did we enslave ourselves to tropes?

why does everyone have to be old as hell while still looking 16
In my case, it's because Nuriel wants to look like an older teenager. (Also, she looks more like 18.)
And going by your logic...well, magical girl alternate forms always look young.

7647
"Also, relax, I'm showing them to you. Trust me, if I was wantin' to kill you, there'd be none o' ya left."
"Hubris. Amusing."

<I propose a manouver, those who have understood the manouver and agree, please give me confirmation. I will count to 10. Not the slow 10...9...8....but I will be swift, so be attentive. Before I count, Bismuth and Kyle, you are the most durable of us, get position left and right in front of her. On 3, just make a suspicious movement. Not enough to cause an attack, but enough to focus all attention on you. On 2, I will stab her in the feet, in a point that will temporarily paralyze her legs ((or only one leg, if elf decides?)). One 1, the suprise and the pain should divert her attention towards me, and Bismuth and Kyle will immediatly jump and try to neutralize her hands, and thus her daggers, in whatever way you perceive is fastest and best. One 0, they will jump to the side and everyone else just...blasts her with whatever they have. I will then try seal her magic, but that may or may not work, so from there, fire at will. Is that an agreeable option?>
<If we need to kill her, sure.>
<Coming.>
<No! ...Aw.>

<Such an indesisive bunch. Alright then. Teamwork only works when everyone can trust everyone blindly. I won't put my life on the line with a bunch of undisciplined ragtag group without even a common purpose, let alone synergy.>
<More like we don't all want to kill a vigilante.>

"In which case make it look like Nuriel did it."
Nuriel arrives in time to punch Kyle in the back of the head.
"So. We still killing the bitch?"
Cue facepalm from Will.
"No. We are not."
"...Oh."

"I can sympathise with her development into a vigilante, but killing to extend your own life well beyond the natural span? That's a step too far. Everything has a time to die. If you aren't already, your mind will eventually sink into madness, and not putting an end to it will be a decision history books will not look upon kindly. You said you enjoy feeling human? It's not too late. Continue your life where you left off, and begin aging normaly."
"Well...judging from this group alone, I can think of two or three people who are counter to your claim. One's arguable, since I only have my power as proof that nothing's going to go wrong, but still. Especially since one of them has been going at this for millennia."

7648
given the usualy reaction an organ has to being stabbed, I'd say that is usualy enough
Ah.
Well, without good aim, it wouldn't be very fast, so we could get a healer on it...and her MO is slashing throats, which incidentally also implies stealth more than martial skill.

You mean kill the person who auto-revives?

Also, please don't say "I", it sounds like you're projecting onto your character.
+1

I think she only auto revives when *she* makes the kill
What?

7649
She chuckles, one hand moving to pat Alice's head, the other reaching up to brush back her hair. "Bloody hell, you all are boring. No sense of sport at all. Alright, alright, the truth. First off, I don't really like the new name they've stuck me with. I prefer my first one, really." She grins. "An' as for my age, I said I was about a hundred and twenty five, and I am. Difference of sixteen years or so at that point ain't much. To answer your question, little thing, yes, yes they were. Those... those were a crime of passion. And a ritual, of sorts." She grins. "That's why I'm stuck at this age, body keeps restoring to the point in time where I killed that first woman. Found that out after I killed the last one, and tried to off myself... that was uncomfortable, egg on my face and all. I don't know what it is about these beauties..."
Here she flicks her wrists in a practiced motion, the two knives from earlier shooting out of her sleeves and into her hands. "But I've found they're really good at killing anything supernatural, and seem ta give me a few perks for doing it... Immortality, for one." She shrugs. "So, I decided to make the most of it. Not like I can stop without dying, so I clean up the streets of the ones the authorities can't, or won't, catch."

((She slipped into an English accent when she admitted to being evil?))
"Thank you for cooperating. Have a chat with Kyle. He's in the superhero business too, and he probably has some pointers on how to do it without coming off as a villain."

Bismuth sighs, grabbing for her blade.

"I may be alright with such actions, but that's not important if you try to stab my friends. So please don't do that, 'k? Or we'll have to say bye bye Jackie."
"You might have killed some strong magic folks, but there's enough of them here, strong and whatnot, that you'd have a damn hard time of it."
Incidentally, Will's still studying her, and will shout a warning if it looks like she's going to attack.

HK-47 pops in with tea.
"You kill others instead of leave them to the law like you should. That's not public service, that's being exactly the same as those you would kill."
"Well-put, 47."

((Au contraire, it's interesting characterization and development, as well as setting up drama.))
