((Are you trying to see if Steve's giant penis ban applies here?))
((...No. I'm seeing if there's a limit to the absurdity we can make without Steve complaining. I'm planning to move from there to assorted impractical or inappropriate military thingies.
Inappropriate like broadswords and aircraft carriers, not like gargantuan genitalia.))

Krom watched with a grin.
"Impressive."

((Actually, yeah.

How the hell would she deal with Personae or superpowers? :P ))
((with stabbing you in the organs?))
We don't know that the organ-destroying knife is a thing

"I've done nothing wrong!"
"It is pretty...suspicious. Time and methods match up with you hypothetically being some sort of immortal reincarnation of Jack the Ripper or something, or possibly the original, genderflipped, if we assume your age claims could be wrong. I've found a trail of murders using the same method tracing back through the decades to your birthplace. You were known to have been near the Black Vipers last night. And your...soul data is corrupted, so we can't check. I'm not going to be betting good money, but the evidence isn't in your favor."

"Can you guys plese stop all the secret mind talk bullshit? I believe Jaqueline here has the right to hear about your judgements, and the right to defend herself."
"...Alright. Jac, some of us were considering the possibility that you might be the daughter of a serial killer with completely different powers despite the fact that she is, as far as we can tell, much younger and, again, has powers nothing like yours. Unless you're concealing the ability to absorb powers through cannibalism or somesuch."

<DA fuck, Richie? No one is all but certain. >:C>
>Fuck if I know! The way Will talks, she might well be!<
"<I have suspicions, and those are worth looking into because she might be a serial killer. Nothing more.>"

"I'll ask again Jaque. Is your mother called Amy Hart?"

Meme is confused, still next to Jaque.

"No. My mother was a Whitechapel whore. My father was probably one of her clients. My mother died when I was ten, and I was raised by her... associates. They were rather abusive."
"Told ya. Also, the prostitutes were abusive to you, presumably leading to a sort of...what's the word...not quite resentment, not quite distrust, perhaps hatred of them?"

<Wait, where did she get the knives from then? They don't sound like heirlooms...>
<Perhaps she brought them with when she came from England? I dunno.>

"I'll explain what whores are to you later Meme--"
"The Talk is for a parent or guardian to have with the child, not random acquaintances."

"What a whore?"

"Did you kill those people? And if so why?"

"I might have. That's what you're trying to figure out, isn't it? I shouldn't make it easy on you, should I?" she tilts her head, smiling.
"Making it hard on us will just make it take longer, and make it harder for you to get a lenient settlement."
Will walks forward and taps his forehead. "And, give me enough time, enough scattered clues...I will find out. So tell us. Especially if there's some mitigating factor."

((So many effing ninja! I got ninja'd by 4-5 new posts quite a few times.))

I'd go with the outside a goblin tower and scout around a bit. besides it woudn't be the first time a Demon has impersonated a goblin leader  :P
Or became one.

<Does it really matter how she does it? On the bottom line she sits on a hundred corpses. But below that even, is the amount of lives she potentialy saved by taking out all these murderers. In total, she has probably done more good than bad. Just pointing it out. I understand the decision of killing her to protect your kind from her fully.>
<Not sure how it is in your society, but here we have things called due process and whatnot that give criminals fair trials and such. Vigilante justice is kinda illegal.>

7659
>Gods, I think I know why Cyrielle doesn't want to be associated with magic, this is an absolute pain in the arse.<
<Imagine growing up with the expectation you'd be doing that from around age 7.>

<Naw, the grunt said she TRIED to bump him off, not she SUCCEEDED. She doesn't have anything capable of making him look alive and fine to a bunch of angry gang members. Unless you think so? Besides, wouldn't he have to be alive to activate their tattoos?>
<It's also possible that A. they were misinformed and B. the tattoos were enchantments. The speed with which they were all executed suggests the latter quite strongly.>

<We must also consider the possibility that whoever it is isn't working alone.>

<On a side note, I am pointing out that we are dealing with someone that has 100 years of experience in killing mages, and is capable of healing herself. We won't be able to simply subdue her and put her into prison, not if she has even a single second to realise what is going on. Whatever you decide, it must be done quickly. I could try and paralyse her, if you distract her, but I don't know if her self-healing abilities could counter-act the paralysis, so you will have to immediatly hold her down, so I can also attempt to seal or interfer with her magic.>
<Or, or, or...we could deal with the experienced mage-killer with non-magic.>

<Could it be that maybe shes the daughter of Amy Hart? And that she has been fighting with her bloodlust for years?>
<How old is Amy? The serial killer and Jacqualine both date back over a century--Hart being her daughter is likelier.>

Jack is once again confused at all the staring-into-space people. She fidgets.
Will isn't staring into space. He's examining her.

7660
<Do you have any suspects? I can look at their souls...>
<Jacqualine. Possibly alias Jack the Ripper.>

7661
((In all fairness, 'He deserved it' followed by a statement of uncertainty isn't much justification.))
Originally, it was supposed to actually be unambiguously deserved (I don't remember all the details). But then, well...

In between someone who razed an entire village along with most of a bloodline for existing, someone who massacred hell along with earth, someone who murdered, tortured and blackmailed along with someone who may or may not be a second Jack the Ripper, I'd say her actions are rather minor in comparison.
Yeah...it was a bigger deal at the time.

The time she, DR, and a few others were going to Japan and she set a village on fire by accident?
2, actually.
That killed people.
Oh. That. Now I remember.
Well, "collateral damage" isn't quite the same as "intentional murder"?

7662
((it's not really much of a horrible reveal. it's a fire demon afterall))

<Alright. Then, how do we get the killers attention on Nuriel though? I don't think he is aware, and making him aware also means making the entire nation aware.>
<Unless we could somehow get in touch with the killer...>
Will begins checking the crimes, looking for some sort of geographical locus, some place near the middle of where the murders were happening, where the serial killer might be.
They seem to happen all over Northsdale, currently, with no real focus. Whomever is doing this is either taking care to avoid just this sort of tracking, or is homeless and wanders around a lot. Many are in the more run-down, gang-ridden part of the city, but given the killer's choice of victim that may just be because there are many potential targets there.
<Yo, Will, should we expand the search? It might have happened elsewhere, and before. Ought to give us a few clues. And share any info you have. I'll do the same.>

Marie does that, looking to see if deaths matching the pattern of the current serial killer have happened elsewhere and elsewhen.
She finds that there is indeed a history of such killings, all with the same MO, scattered through newspapers and other such records back almost a hundred years, and before that the main issue is finding records of such things. Some things are consistent across cases: A sharp implement was used, the bodies had their throats cut and organs removed, though it seems that it's generally been slowing down over the years. The first reports have a body found almost every day, while the most recent cases seem to mostly come once a week or so. The victims have also changed, generally tending toward more violent types over time.
[To: All but Kyle and Jack] <...I hate to admit it, but I think Kyle was right about Jacqualine.>

<You could walk around town, commiting heinous crimes?>
<Don't do that.>

7663
I don't remember that. Sre you thinking of Sen?

7664

<Huh? Why would you do something like that and not tell anybody?>
<He deserved it! I think...>
