Rule Of Cool, GWG. I thought you knew tropes better than this.
So? Why are tropes a good thing?

I disagree. In several years we sacrifice Zeus to the god of science and atheism then one year after that we sacrifice him to Grate.
There is no God of Science and Atheism!

Continue Mad Science experiments to bring Hecate back to life as a playdate partner/adoptive sister to Grate.

((Bad press like enough to get the governor to shut it down. I'd call that a Game Over. And, of course, some people care about that kind of stuff. And Corran going on a two-year murder spree, wiping out crime, and getting lauded for it is really, really bugging me. That's not how police work. That's not how the law works.

You can't remove greed, but you can make sure it's being directed towards non-criminal ways. Greed is, after all, nothing more than wanting to get stuff. If the path to get stuff by ways other than crime is open and offers the same or better rewards, why wouldn't a greedy person take it?

And you don't get it, do you? Crime can change in more ways than you're going to be able to expect and prepare for. It's analogous to the evolution of species. Freeze everything, and things grow to resist the cold. Throw in a disease, and their immune systems get advanced. They'll survive and persevere no matter what.))

Krom watches, continuing to idly doodle half-runes.

((I've gone over this before. If you wipe out the ones you find, they find ways to not be found. If you can't address the root causes of crime, it will still keep happening no matter what you do. Those root causes are what Carl's been trying to get at this whole time.
And nonviolent means have one advantage: We don't get the bad PR from gunning down people with not so much as a trial. Legal issues are going to come up when we get noticed.))

Well, if we can't sacrifice science, we just sacrifice the scientists....

SACRIFICE STEPHEN HAWKING TO GRATE and possibly other scientists and/or business tycoons.
That comes later. Religion first, then science.
Dammit, we can't sacrifice science! That doesn't make any sense!

7688
Which reminds me to work on my planned plot.

It seems that we may have an Egyptian divine civil war on our hands. One side seems to have Horus, probably as the leader. So--
*shot before he could complete the Horus Heresy joke*
...That stung a bit. Who did that?
*shot with a large artillery piece*
I think that one drew blood. Seriously, what the hell?

7690
((Well, yes, but "due process" is that thing that stops people from being imprisoned/executed without a chance to defend themselves in court. I'd say that it stops the rich and powerful from being more powerful...not to mention that that bit has more to do with issues outside the general form of the legal system. Shooting criminals won't help that.
Not to mention that very very few of the criminals would have death sentences, especially as this seems to be set in Illinois, which doesn't have a death penalty.))

7691
>Think about it. Egyptian god shows up, manticores found in Nile water and papyrus. Apart from the manticores, what reason do we have to believe that Hermes or Pan were involved?<
<Any Egyptian gods associated with travel?>

<Unless I'm mistaken, Anima is our only link to the gods.>
Shys'm Caes whisltes in everyone's minds.
<Yes, we have a link to a god.>

<Are you guys ignoring me out of spite or are you just trying to annoy me?>
<We're not responding to you because you're not saying anything of note. What're you offended about?>

7692
<Unless I'm mistaken, Anima is our only link to the gods.>

7693
>Think more Egyptian. The way this went, maybe Sobek and Anima were forced to surrender by this newcomer, hence why she took her bracelet off.

Knowing her, she probably did it to keep us out of her business, or to keep her friends safe. Whatever the case, this isn't good.<

<Thank you for that complete lack of insight.>

<If she sacrificed herself for the good of the whole, we should honor her wish, rather than make her sacrifice in vain>
<Or, or, we could save her. Because I'm kinda doubtful that we can't find some way to do so.>

Oh, well in that case lucky break, the MO is almost identical to Jack's, though it's likely a copycat killer or he's moved on to bigger game and somehow immortal.
Interesting. Will files this in his mind.

7694
Corran watches him go in amusement.

"Due process? If due process was enough to get justice they wouldn't have needed us to begin. One day that naive little builder is going to have to grow and accept the world doesn't work that way.

These scum respect nothing but force.

((...Do you actually believe this, or is this just an IC view? Because either way that's a horrible thing to believe.))

7695
((I know. :P))
Will does find some more evidence. Namely, the prints of a crocodile were found, a large than normal one, presumably Sobek, as he concluded.

However, there are also sandal prints,  standing opposite where the bracelet and the manticore were. They are absolutely CHARGED with magical energy.
<Interesting. Definitely Sobek, definitely not alone. Sandal prints, charged with magical energy. Hermes, perhaps?>

((Well, they can hear anyone who's holding one.))
>The concept that the serial killer in the news here's a vigilante.<
<That mage-killer? Doubtful, but...>
Will looks up the mage-killer using his smartphone to see if the mage-killer was executing all mages or just criminals. And to see if he can find other connections between the victims.
I'll just go ahead and do it without a roll, since he's... him.

All the victims were criminals in a big way (murderers, rapists, things like that), usually ones that are known magic users, though there are one or two who aren't, at least not openly. How familiar is he with earth serial killers, since he isn't from there?
[/quote]
Not very. Some, like Jack the Ripper, would have existed in both worlds, and others, like Amy Hart, are big enough that he's heard of them, but...
