Back in SA, Will successfully shot a supervillain who was basically incorporeal whenever she wasn't jumping (she turned corporeal to avoid sinking into the center of the earth), with basically every shot, crippling her.
Also, it would help him not get shot.
Besides, any lethal way to settle an argument is stupid, because it a) ends with someone dead and b) doesn't have anything to do with the subject of the argument. Unless they were arguing about their relative shooting skills, in which case see point a and a shooting range.
