Normal students. Who happen to be squishy. And not at all capable of fighting off large tiger-sized things with poison stingers for tails.

The school wasn't called because they attacked when everyone was there. The other magic folks are handling crime like Kyle is, and the police...well....police being police, they've probably been called.

I mean, leaving out wings and scorpion tale, the base is still a standard vertebrate, so there are paralells to work with. especialy with the base being a big cat, fingerling kinds second best known enemy

...Did anyone IRL ever even think of meridian lines for non-humanoids?

And let's face it, manticores are magical creatures. The scorpion tail and the wings heavily suggest that there isn't any reason to believe they have internal anatomy significantly paralleling that of mundane creatures.

Fine, but I think Really Big Guns should at least give me 20 additional damage instead of 15.

Consider this:
A person with no Energy spent on powers, spending all his Energy on a suicidal attack, would be dealing 100 damage.
More typically...a 60-health-starting person with that RBGs power might spend 20 on attacking one person, 15 on another, and 25 on defense.
Also, the way your power is worded, it would be easy for said 60-health-person to mostly tank, spreading 5-Energy attacks of 20-25 damage to everyone whole spending nearly all their Energy on defense.

It's a bit of a game-breaker power, much like Gom Jabbar and such can be. and I don't think we have enough game-breaking powers to go around...
