Einsteinian Roulette / Re: Einsteinian Roulette: Repair and Rescue
« on: January 19, 2014, 02:26:17 pm »
((Is the AM a badass bastard that hits people for fun or is she actually a person (ie she doesn't automatically shoot you if you annoy her)? ))
((She's a nice person by HMRC standards.))

((Someone should ask the AM on a proper date. Hilarity would ensue. Maceration shortly after.))
((For extra hilarity, have someone slick convince someone naive like Grate to ask her on a "date". Or, better yet, ask him to ask the AM for things that will end up coming out like bad pickup lines.))

((Someone should ask the AM on a proper date. Hilarity would ensue. Maceration shortly after.))
((All I got for definition of that was effectively "stew" (mix solids with liquids) so what do you mean exactly?))
((Put two and two together.))

((I like this battlechess. If anyone else wants to, I'm game for a game.))
((As am I. I'm not reading the rules so I can properly roleplay a kid who doesn't understand how the horse-shaped ones move.))

((I really fear the enemy will take one look at this thing, line up a gauss cannon, let 'er rip, and that'll be the end of Auron's junkbot (and possibly Auron himself.))
((Wait, Anton might survive that?))

(yeah, last time Anton did that it did soo much good... you could even say it made him the man he is today...
though I guess it's going to be hard for Artees to go as horribly right as that generator project.)
))
((That sounds like a story you should share with the noobs.))

Roll To Dodge / Re: Roll to Go Mad: Turn 29 - The Tines of Madness

((Glyphs appearing on the walls, closing the gates and whatnot, were about as predictable as, say, a bunch of demon-wolves or something investigating and attacking. Or some kind of tainted rain. Or a nearby river flooding, not a problem with the city walls. Really, if the GM wanted to screw us over, he would have had at least as many options outside as inside, and we wouldn't even be able to further investigate.))

Angel glares at him.

"Mister Pentagrowl, do you have anything you want me to carry?"
"Well, no. Not as such. And even if I did have something to carry, it would be shameful to ask a little girl to carry it when I have two perfectly good arms of my own! Positively unheroic, in fact. Also, it'd be unhealthy for your developing spine to carry the loot we intend to obtain. Finally, it's 'Pantagruel'. Pun-tah-groo-el. Remember the name, spread it around!"
"Okay, Mister Puntagrool."

Angel tries to think of something...then remembers something.
Try to levitate something.
(Let's see how badly this fails.)

...
I want to run a turn, but I'm not sure who's going where.
To be fair, I'm not sure where I'm going.

That was the morning after an all-night Harry Potter movie marathon, which is my excuse for mistaking the NPC Actions spoiler for the PC Actions one.

Determine what nourishment they require and provide it.
See if I can teach them how to talk.
Because while young dragons might have genius-level intellect, they're still kids.

8046
I'm confused. So confused.

Zzdwi commits treachery, writ large.
Boo! Boo!

Edit:  But seriously, everyone joining up against the Big Bad?  Far too hopeful.  ;P
Perfect world, I drive off the Wildlings and then help stop the end of the world.
More likely? When the Gears come to Paradise, I chat with him and join those in storage for the next world. Unless something goes wrong, of course.
I'm doomed, aren't I?

8048
Angry at one of them, the other was doing her best and... who else?
"The other was doing her best." Exactly.
And there was Shys'm Caes, and I think another person or two.

Quote
He has stated multiple times he cares more about his friend then his life.
Which friend? The friend that threatened to kill Richard, who horribly humiliated Selina whenever she got control, and who only existed because God went too far in a game of mental Truth or Dare?

I'm fine, but the skype chat is not. My skype pic was also a casualty. :P
This sounds hilarious! I mean, "horrible"!

<Also I don't have a penis but that can wait."
"Why are boobs like, so fucking nice?"
"Polygons."
Keith snuggles Bethany into her boobs.
Like, shut up Pagan Dad.
"I died."
"Like, what."
"I was put on my God bed."
"I don't know. I want to kill criminals."
"Mhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmm, you can be like, kinda dumb but your boobs are like, nice."
Keith goes to sleep smothering Bethany.
Bethany sleeps happily.
What. So much what.
I'm tempted to request a partial karma roll from Elf.

((Purposely trying to keep it out of NSFW Territory.))
It's uncomfortably close for me.
It sure ain't something I really want to read.

"Not much, Shut the fuck up yourself, you xenophobic cockgobbler, and I BUILT THIS SHIT." She gestures at the everything. "In order."
"NICE TO FUCKING MEET YOU! GO FUCKING SHOVE YOUR OWN FIST UP YOUR FUCKING DUSTY ASS COOCH AND RIP OUT YOUR FUCKING INTERNALS! AND DO I LOOK LIKE I GIVE SINGLE FUCKING SHIT!?"
*casts gate*
*removes popcorn from Xantalos's infinite stash*
*munch munch*

((Basically, a serial killer starts murdering magical people, possibly only ones that misuse their power, but not exactly discriminately and it's NOT helping their reputation since everyone assumes he's magic too.))
Hm...
Well, question one is how s/he is going to be killing the stronger magical people.
Question two is what the hell is s/he doing near one of the most famous clusters of magical people in the world, strong enough to drive off the effing Layar?

"Haven't had nearly enough olives yet I guess..."
That olive would probably be about the size of a good-sized watermelon, proportionally. How many whole watermelons can you eat in a sitting?
Hai would have a somewhat larger appetite, but I'd be surprised if you could even eat one whole watermelon in a sitting, and even more surprised if you were willing to do so.

((Okay, i'm unsure of whats going on. Because it was never restated that Luna got re-hand cuffed to Will... And it wasn't retconned that she failed to escape... I can't really continue my retcon without figuring this out.))
Cyrielle did, in fact, re-cuff them shortly after Luna slipped out.
As disappointed as Will is with this, I'm glad.

"YOUR A FUCKING SPACE ELF CULTISTS OF SELINA! WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS BULLSHIT!"
Not an entirely unreasonable reaction.

Quote
"ALSO GO STICK A FUCKING TREE UP YOUR SHIT YOU FUCK!"
An entirely unreasonable reaction.

8049
"... You make me feel unclean when you speak."
"You're not alone."

Will then looks for Abraxas, or someone else interesting to talk to.
((Is Elf online? Or Cado, maybe?))

"reet Beheend hyoo~ eend hwee ceeld puut ah 'neshie coorse on theem!"
"I'd prefer you didn't. And you don't want to annoy me."

"EXPECT SHIS'M BITCH, FUCK HER! SHE CAN GO SUCK A FUCKING BAG OF ORK DICKS!"
"Brilliant idea, Angus. Anger th' creator 'f th'ntire universe. It'll end well."

"EXPECT SHIS'M BITCH, FUCK HER! SHE CAN GO SUCK A FUCKING BAG OF ORK DICKS!"
"Oi. Can still hear you, by the way."
"As c'n passesrby on the street. D'you understand the concept of an 'indoor voice'?"

"Well, just chill out, these are good people. Even Satan is pretty cool."
"Which wouldn't be no surprise 'tall if you read Dante's Inferno."
Yes, Will likes making obscure puns.

"Chill out you say? This isn't some benefice dinner to get sponsors to save the endangered Hawksbill turtle, where nobody really is bothered even if it goes badly. This is a one in a century opportunity."
((I'll assume we got Hai a mind girdle or something.))
<Hai, don't worry. There's more than one solute to your problem. You have found friends...well, people willing to put with you and help shoulder your burden. You don't need to have the weight of the world on your shoulders.>
((Tyops intentional.))

"BECAUSE WE ARE NOT ANIMALS FOR GIANTS TO TOY WITH! I WILL NOT SUBJECT MY PEOPLE TO A LIFE AS SLAVES, UNTIL GENERATIONS OF SELECTIVE BREEDING HAVE FORMED THEIR BODIES AND MIND SO MUCH THAT THEY HAVE FORGOTTEN WHAT THEY ONCE WERE! TURNING WOLVES INTO PUGS!"
<I'd point out the problem with that, but you seem to be drunk enough to not understand the meaning of the word 'starman'.>

Hainuwele is holding back tears now

"It's because we are worth something...we are not just rodents...we matter...*sniff*"
<That's we're trying to save you. If you weren't worth suffering, we'd probably just "relocate" you a mile above the Pathetic Ocean.>

Luna mutters about how unfair this is.
"Says th'girl who threatened to kill my kids. Then me."

Quote
"Yeah, I doubt we'll ever be on good terms. EVER."
[/quote]
"Why d'you think I'm not telling you about some of the worse experiences in m'life?"

"Mmm. If you're going to fuck me, you ought to do it with far more refinement. I would demonstrate, but honestly a lowlife like you hardly seems worthy."
"WHY THE FUCK DOES EVERYONE ASSUME I WANT TO FUCKING FUCK THEM!"
"'Cuz you alws say fuck?"

Angerus finds himself uncontrollably reality warping according to his subconscious in the about...five feet around him.
Will is confused. He pokes the warped reality with his demon hand. (Long story, mcclay. Okay, it was just a telefrag combined with healing magic.)
He recoils, clasping it and swearing.

Will starts on his third glass of the weird orange stuff and tries to locate Abraxas.

Interesting.

8052
...microseconds?

That must be incredibly inconvenient for any humans trying to log in.

8053
...Well, you know what I bet would help?
The rest of the riddle. Because, right now, it looks like the old St. Ives riddle without the twist.
The end of the riddle is just the warning about what happens if you get it wrong.
GWG.
Its not supposed to be hard.
I wasn't trying to make up a super hard riddle.
Its ripped straight from a like a fifth-grade level book I read that was recommended to me.
I'm using it as a plot device.
So lighten up.
Plz? X_X
I was at first annoyed because of how simple it was.
Then I was annoyed because I was sure that ending would include some subtle hint about how to interpret the rest.
Now I am annoyed because you're insulting me.

It's a really simple riddle. Without knowing what the sorceress, her children, and so forth symbolize, it's impossible to figure out what the Hidden Message is, and we don't know enough about the lore of the world to figure out what that might be.

But.. that wasn't the case in the book I read. It's not the same riddle. The twist is different in the book but requires context for you to understand, so I just omitted it. So it's just a math problem really. It could end up being challenging if someone asked you on the street and you didn't have a computer or something to write on.
...So...it is 105?
But didn't you say earlier that it wasn't just a math problem?

I always imagined Bradford as being a huge dick to all the personnel whenever the Commander Dr. Shen or the German lady weren't around. Cutting off fingers for stealing rations and handing out lashes whenever someone forgot to put the box of Scopes on the Skyranger.
Those power plants? Man-sized hamster wheels. Thousands of them.
And the mechanical arms on that assembly line are actually just real people sticking their arms inside an empty shell.
The workshops are actually just rooms filled with orphans making Niké tennis shoes.
Hey! No wonder everything costs like 10$ to make! Good work Bradford! ;D
Why do you think any of this?'
The Armed Forces have much worse punishments than removing digits and whipping.
That's horribly inefficient.
Ditto.
What the hell do we need tennis shoes for?
And it's not ten dollars, it's ten credits.

You just wait you'll turn on EU tomorrow and there'll be a big fat update and you'll be all "WTF" but then you'll go to the base screen and see the Hamster gene mod and you'll be all "yuss."
Gene mods are in EW.
