Calmed her down and talked it out.
Because that worked so well by everyone else who had tried it. Including Cyrielle, Richard, and others noted for being pretty good with people, as opposed to Kyle, whose most notable social trait is his Casanova-feigning tendencies.

I did openly state Kyle knew that. It didn't change a thing.
Which makes his action stupid, which was my point.

And I really need sleep.

Turns are usually around an hour, give or take, except in combat. GWG has some basic materials, but nothing fancy.
An hour? I had expected more like a day.
...
This is going to take forever. Not just building stuff. Hell, it would have been slow regardless--months, which would be several dozen turns at best--but with hours...this game is probably going to die before we can get through the week.

((Well, to be fair they are also usually better people afterwards. Which I also plan to do.))
((If this was PMs, I'd be listing counter-examples. Some Biblical.))

(( How? You didn't request anything and no money got used so you didn't buy anything.
((Then what the hell is a "workshop"?))

Quote
You can fortify it from the inside, add bulletproof glass or tinting to the windows, gets safes, set up a room to be used as a computer hub. Plenty of things you can do.
((Please elaborate, pretty unusual, definitely conspicuous, why don't we have those, why the hell don't we have that.))

Quote
Ok so yeah you do need to find a supplier to get more supplies. It'd get this turn sorted. ))
((Yeah.))

After concluding argument, begin locating supplier.

8058
No, I mean to fix Luna.

And seriously, murder's a bit far for any problem. Especially when, as noted, he has a number of powerful friends and a very strong, tough, and fire-breathing protective girlfriend.

8059
Will rolls his eyes.

8060
Blank is also going to try and recruit thugs and general mean sorts to the cult. Like the Christians.
((I'm usually first in line to make fun of organized religion, but seriously. Not cool.))

(( Uhm GWG, do you actually have the materials to do any of that yet? Don't you need to go find a supplier first? Otherwise you could just assess the building to work up ways to fortify it. That's going to need to be done whatever we do.

It's either that or just sit it out while the rest of us do stuff. ))
((Pretty sure I would have gotten that stuff when setting up my workshop, else I basically wasted my whole first turn pointing to a room and calling it my workshop.
And fortify the building? How, and wouldn't that make it rather conspicuous?))

8061
"Breaking" was simply a terrible word choice and you know that!

Also, what would Kyle have done?

8062
Will sighs. "I've been trying to fix my mistakes, Kyle, why can't you believe me? I'm not good at this, I'm just...it's hard to change. I've never been good with people, but since--" He glances at Luna. "Never mind."

8063
((Yeah, we need five intelligent people and a buffoon bumbling about making a cult.))
((Ideally, six intelligent people, but beggars can't be choosers...))

(( How? 1 guy is going spying, 1 is going shopping for a knife, I'm in meetings for the next while.

The group isn't going to be together to do any planning at the moment. Might be better to call for a meeting then do something this turn. ))
((How long are these turns, anyways?))

((For that matter, I'm off getting the hospital set up.  So GWG, you may as well declare your actions and we'll have a planning session in the in-game tomorrow))
((What part of "I can't give an action until I know what the hell our plan is, because it's kinda stupid if I start building weapons or something only to realize that the best route forward is 100% peaceful, or building some kind of combat vehicle when we're about to be starting a nice campaign of espionage" do you not understand?))

((Hey, the POTUS can probably still influence this... a lot ;) ))
((Governor would be the one with authority, though.))

"I am disturbed by your lack of care over the status of my hand."

For starters, I created this thread. Also, I frequently link to TV Tropes.

Seriously, when it's that obvious, pointing out how obvious it is is just kinda dumb.

My point is that Kyle's stupidity isn't an isolated incident here and there. Poor judgement is one of the core elements of his character.

And whenever it isn't screwing everything up, it's kinda endearing. More so than arrogance.
Arrogance? Also I like to think my writing him well is why he isn't stupid and annoying and instead just stupid.
Don't you think arrogance would be less endearing than stupidity?

Well, what do you define "stupid" as?

I define it as consistently making stupid choices despite the fact that he should, by all rights, know better.
Okay, I probably shouldn't be in this discussion because I've read like, one tenth of RotMG but from what I've seen Kyle just has a lack of common sense. I haven't seen him make any colossally stupid decisions.
How are you measuring the colossalness of the stupidity? However you count it, deciding to kill Will--who has a half-dragon girlfriend and is liked fairly well by most of the cast--due to protesting giving a psychopath (who threatened to, in order, kill Will's children in front of him, lock him in a room with their corpses in it, and have him starve to death) a superhuman, extremely durable body, probably qualifies.

8067
Well, for starters, its made out of distortions, so yes, the katana cuts through it, sort of, it displaces part of it which then snaps back into place.
"...That counts."

Kyle frowns.
"I like technology better. I mean, if I made this I would have made the end blow up if the chain was cut."
"Considering that this is my hand that wouldn't grow back, I'm kinda glad you didn't."

[To:Will]<Want me to crash the party?> Sen ponders about doing so.
<I'm hoping to get a chance to chat with Abraxas, and ideally some others, tonight. Please don't.>

(( It depends on the records, his only has status, some of my friends it includes name as well for next of kin details. A name is more then enough to go on. ))
((I meant marital status as the only family thing. Of course name is a dead giveaway.))

"I specifically said I would share all information with him, was that unclear? Besides my office is on the top floor here and my room is right next door to it. I will not be taking it outside the building."
"Are you also going to be sharing the date of your daughter's wedding with him? And as to the other point...fair. Still, I would feel rather more secure if there was a copy on the computers we are supposed to be keeping official records and whatnot in."

Quote
"As for why I don't trust you? Well that's simple, I know what I did to get this job and I haven't read your files yet so I know nothing about you but what you chose to tell me which may or may not be accurate. I'm not taking risks with something this important. I'm not refusing to co-operate I'm simply stating that I will share information on a need to know basis not a want to know basis."
"I don't care where you came from and I don't feel the need to share my past with you.

Quote
"If it's important you will know, if you have suspicions I'll help you sort it out and give you the information."
"I am a Director as much as you. We have six directors and not one because the six are supposed to provide checks and balances for the others. How can we do that if you are unwilling to show any details about your work to the others?"

Quote
"But until I see through actions that you can be trusted that's as far as I'm willing to go. Once I can trust you I'll give you the information on anyone working for you. Minus names of course."
"What security risk is there from me reading files on potential recruits that don't even record the recruit's name?!?"

Blank pokes his head in on the argument. When he's speaks there is a noticable rasp and lisp.
"I think that you would make a good sacrifice to the gods if you aren't going to play nice and share with everyone."
"Try. I'd appreciate the practice."

"QUIET YOU ASSHOLES, GODDAMN DISTURBING MY NAP, I CAN HEAR YOU FROM FUCKING OVER THE BUILDING."(Meaning I didn't actually read all of it). "Now listen here, Corran, I don't give a shit who you hire, as long as I don't have to work with him, and he doesn't fuck me up. However, I fucking want to know who the hell these people are, if I have to work with him. Either in the field, or back here at base. Now that means all of you assholes. I barely know more than your name and what you can do. If you guys go into this screaming fest again. You can bet I'll get the POTUS to get me some new people here."
"This is a state-level program, you buffoon!"

(So, people, turn in actions if you want. I'll wait for conversations to end, of course, but it would be nice to get a chance to write things up ahead of time.)
((Which reminds me: Please don't post the turn until I've posted an action other than providing percussive discipline. I fully intend to do other things, but I'm not going to select them until after we've had a planning session, which will hopefully start when this argument ceases.
And we need a cohesive plan, not six idiots bumbling about and not sharing any information. That's a recipe for disaster. Seriously, we need a plan.
And I need a plan most of all, because what I'm going to build depends heavily on that.))

8069
Well, what do you define "stupid" as?

I define it as consistently making stupid choices despite the fact that he should, by all rights, know better.

8070
...Well, you know what I bet would help?
The rest of the riddle. Because, right now, it looks like the old St. Ives riddle without the twist.
