Forum Games and Roleplaying / Re: Dawn of Worlds IC
« on: January 14, 2014, 11:36:54 pm »
Didn't you already take your turn?

Anyways...

The Earth was once featureless. Then, out of the ocean rose a great continent and a lesser one. The Ancients began shaping it, but the Earth did not appreciate the shaping. It reacted poorly, with storms building up. The storms gathered across land and sea, drawing towards a point in the southeastern part of the great continent. The storms gained more than mere winds, picking up the spirits of any animals killed by the storm. The storms gathered in a permanent scar of wind, filled with death-screams and spirits of animals, sometimes taking elemental forms of wind, rain, lightning, and hail.
The Elemental Scar was formed.

Catastrophe?: -10? Power
(I figure this goes a bit beyond "Shape Land," neh? Still, I'll let sjm decide what it counts as. He probably appreciates having something to do.)

And look at the time, I needs sleepies.

All fine. ideally it wouldn't have been the AoE map, but i can live with it as is, and i'll probably move the AoE indicator into the sea on the next round so it's still there but out of the way.
I'm busy justifying it.

Head to whatever room I'll be sleeping in. Remove a piece of paper, prick my finger, and sketch the rune:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
on it before my finger heals. Then, clean my finger, set the paper near me, and sleep.

((dual characters?))
Some of us have multiple characters. I started with Angel, whose alternate form Nuriel developed into a seperate character, then Will came in as a character of mine from another game, and I sometimes play wolfchild's character Stella when wolf isn't around.
And I have the second-fewest characters, if I'm not mistaken.

((damn thread is so fast, can't even manage to get a post through with so many new replies every time. this post was blocked 5 times in a row))
That's life here.

((I doubt Meme, even with the size of a toddler, would fit into a fortress designed to be manned by 10 cm tall creatures))
Not inside, but the courtyard...

"Stop yelwing! You scarwing the butterfwies."
She said an 'l'. Her accent's slipping.

((wait, did anyone remember to bring back DR' body?))
((Albrecht. And if not, someone probably did because nobody would be that stupid to leave God's body out there.))
Wanna bet?
People have done much stupider things.

Hm, I'll look into Sen's powers, they do seem fairly broken, although I'm interpreting them as her absorbing the powers from books rather than having them natively, in which case I might start giving her higher mana costs to compensate, as well as nerfing her power absorption.
That does seem to be what she is doing. That is why I'm saying she'll be getting more and more. Regardless, she'll become the Eidolon of the group before long, and Kyle ain't Hero, nor is Nuriel Legend.
We don't have any bruisers comparable to Alexandria, sadly.

I'm 20 pages behind IC and five behind OOC, but I'll catch up.

((This didn't get posted. Let me fix that!))

Keeper Moretti turns around. "Oh hello Angel, I'm afraid I didn't see you there."  His tone is facetious, but good natured as he looks up at the billowing smoke clouds collecting on the ceiling and being sucked into the air vents.  "A number of my old friends have come out to play, and they aren't playing fair."  He nods his head seriously,  "But cheaters never prosper, do they Angel?"
"N-no, sir..."

Did he vanish from Angel at some point?

"Yes, let's inspect the house, and get away from these depraved ones."
"Do you want to see how far I can throw you out the second story window? It won't hurt her, Meme, small animals don't get hurt as much from long falls."

Quote
Upon further inspection....

"Hmm...no electricity...no running water or sanitation...the windows are empty, and there are no fireplaces or heating for winter...the entire eastern wall is missing...is this part of a shanty town?"
"No. It's a toy for children."

"You never know, Ester; maybe she's got dietary needs that are different from normal-sized people? I dunno."
"Like food that can fit down her throat?"

>Is Maria's house a weirdness magnet or something?<
<No. The inhabitants are.>

>...then why isn't Cyrielle's house getting swarmed? That's probably the second biggest magical place around.<
<There's barely anyone there. Compare that to Murder Night's court. Half a dozen magic-users at times.>

"I'd like to have a walled perimeter of about one square meter, walls 40 cm or higher, with a main fortified tower in the north east corner, bordering the keep. The dungeon should go at least 1 meter underground, and provide 2 seperate retreat routes. If possible the main tower should host a trebuchet, the smaller one can go with ballistae. I'd also like several square meters of pastures, to raise mice as lifestock. If possible, have it built close to running water, but if there is none, still water will do. No need to worry about servants yet, once needed, I will employ some by my own pay."
"How do you know metric if you didn't know there were people taller than a few inches?"

"This will do...so, why are there what, 50 appearantly highly unusual beings in this house? What's the purpose of your...organisation."
Ester gasps, "Do you really not know about Maria and Selina and everyone else?"
"She doesn't know about humans that are taller than a foot. Or, presumably, that the world is round."
(Will mocks! He's a mocker.)

"How boring. We have an army of uniquely powerful entities gathered to fight the evil in the world, and they are all just sitting here, fucking eachother? You can not be serious."
"Stuff comes up. It's just that none of the current stuff is nearby or, as they as, in our pay grade."

"Ohh, what a haul, what a haul. Where I come from they are almost hunted to extinction because they are so delicious. I call dibs on the wings, Meme, care for the eyes? they are very juicy, like small berries."
"Firstly, how are there enough of you to hunt insects, not one species but a whole scad of them, near extinction, but not enough of you to notice the seven-point-whatever billion humans swarming across the surface of this planet? Secondly, what is there in the wings to eat?"

"Come on, give the butterfly a try. I'll poach it in a bit of butter (nudge nudge, get it, nudge nudge), and it'll be much better than some lame candy. Because they soak up sugar from the flowers all day, they taste super sweet."
"They also digest the sugar until it becomes normal bug. And she appreciates the aesthetic value of butterflies over the potential taste of such a small morsel."

"You are really missing out then."
"You know, I was wondering how sentient life could exist with such a small brain. You are constantly giving me hints to the answer of this dilemma."

"A whole leg for just 4 people? You giants are ravenous."
"Pound for pound, you're the ravenous one."

"Who are you calling midget, beanstalk? I'll have you know, I am quite big for my kind"
"And I'm the king of Siam. Besides, you're smaller than everyone else here. That makes you the odd one out, hence midget. Although 'mouse' might be better."

"Who are you calling midget, beanstalk? I'll have you know, I am quite big for my kind"
"I thought you said you weren't a glutton," she teases.
"Ooh, good one!" Will offers a high-five.

"Who're you calling telephone pole, Thimbelina?"
"Who are you calling Thimbelina, Giraffe?"
"You know about Thimbelina and giraffes, but not humans our size?"

"Anyone have any pretzels and whiskey, I have the craving for a piknik"
"Our pretzels are like the size of your head. Want Cheerios or something?"

"Lilly has the better H-scenes anyway. The Hanako route is only depressing."
"Okay, this is...I can't even criticize your claimed lack of knowledge about humans our size for that comment. It would be like kicking a baby."

((I have 20 more pages to go. I'll catch up later.))

He's using the 2d8 base damage for it, which is a Large-sized weapon (essentially a Large bastard sword), which would incur a -4 penalty to attack due to being offsized. The Fullblade is wonky anyways, because IIRC it was never updated for 3.5 and the stats are a bit unclear. Unless we're houseruling that the weapon proficiency removes the offsize penalty.

e: At least, I think that's how the size would play out. Might be something weird like Large creatures using it as a 1H weapon and Medium creatures using it as a 2H, IDK.
We've been over this. In 3.0, Large meant "Two-handed for a Medium creature".

Exactly. So why does it say +28?
It's a two-hander. +7 extra strength bonus.
You only increase your effective Strength bonus for damage.

Quote
I charged for a +2 to hit and damage.
Charging only gives +2 to hit. Wonky, but them's the rules.
Welp, I've been doing this wrong for all time.
+28 to damage, and +17 to hit.

As far as the fullblade goes, though, it's a large greatsword fitted to be used by a medium creature. According to the Arms and Equipment Guide, there's no size penalty as long as I'm proficient.
Are you accounting for the fact that, when they say "Large weapon," they mean "two-handed weapon for Medium creatures"?

I, Insert Username Here, promise to abide by the rules of this game, for the sake of both myself and others. I realize that while there is nothing physically keeping me from breaking these rules, I will follow them for the sake of my word and honor towards a fair game, and realize that this is simply that, a game. I will not look in the spoilers of the other team, either those of the turn, or the submitted actions of those players. The Star Wars prequels were pretty good. I will spoiler my own actions so as to keep them secret from the other team, and realize that they are bound by their honor to not view them, as I am bound by mine to not view theirs.

Give myself movement-based powers, then use them to descend the slope and go over to the shadow guy. Greet him.
"Hi! I'm Angel. What's your name?"

You can use your telepathy at will, but that doesn't mean you should.
You can use your telepathy at will, but that doesn't mean you'll succeed.
Short bit is, ones are terrible for anyone.

((Blarg. Just let me know when something interesting happens to Kimiko or her treatment finishes, okay?))
((Will do. I'd just Time Skip, but some people are doing things. And another hasn't acted since she went to sleep at 4 in the afternoon.))

"Babysitter I guess..." Mimu seems sad still.

((I assumed they were heavily damaged or stained in someway after getting hit by a meteor and run over/ hit by a car.))
((Point.))
"Alright, then."
Hogosha heads to the other room and makes a call.

"h-hello... U-um... I-if you don't mind me asking... Um... W-What's your name?"
"Yanagi Bairel. Didn't I tell you?"

Blargh. Wander until we meet SOME other PC.
[4] You get a call.
"Hello. This is Hogosha Aiko. We met yesterday. I was wondering if you would be willing to keep an eye on Mimu? We're hoping that someone with magic would be able to help avoid any...accidents occurring."

Try to lose the stranger danger in a crowd.
[4][4v5] He catches up to you.

Well, at least their newspaper comics are funnier, Claudia guesses.

Wonder if those dudes from that magical agency or whatever left any contact information. Also, read up on cult.
They did. They also left an agent of some kind to keep an eye on you.
"Cult"?
