Angel crashes into Alistair.
"I'm sorry! I'm terrible at this game!" Angel tosses the controller aside and starts crying.

Meanwhile, her unattended car bounces off a wall and manages to slip ahead of a few AI cars, completely unattended.

Oh, religion. Don't get me started on that.

What was the Round 3 gym? And whose was it?

<BE NICE NURIEL!> Meme keeps patting Angel's back gently.
<What? I was being encouraging!>

...if my character dies there's a decent chance the whole party will, even with two clerics.
All my undead stop being controlled as soon as I die. And I made them badass.
Turn undead! TURN UNDEAD!!
It's based on HD. My Unkillable Half-Dragon Zombie Minotaur(I'd actually like it to be Dragonkin, but the HD there is too high for me to animate) is 12 HD. Too high for you guys to Turn/Rebuke. Although you might be able to Command(I don't think you'd want to destroy them, nor would I want you to with how expensive they were to make) the skeletons, and turn/rebuke the lesser zombies.
I would have taken Spontaneous Cure and Rebuke/Command Undead if I could. It's a neat mix of good and evil which fits with both the nigh-apathetic nature of Io and the somewhat aloof, pragmatic personality of Drakruldus. But the rules don't allow it, so I can only turn undead.
You could have asked for homeruling.
Although the way you put it sounds like Inflicting and Turning would fit better.
Eh.
I don't see why, and besides, what use is Inflict compared to Cure?

Edited the tropes page to point out that distortions bones wouldn't have actually made the body that strong when factoring in that they make it easier to cleave through it.
...It doesn't work like that. The indestructible bones would stop the blow there, not somehow let it go through the indestructible bone.
Between that and natter, I'm removing it.
That's how I established regular consolidated distortions to work (the force skips past them, a sword slice at a distortion plate would not disperse or otherwise attenuate at all), otherwise Cyrielle could just walk around in a suit of armor made from it.
Distortions are confusing. And if that's the case, how do weapons made out of distortions work?
And it's still natter. And there was still the lack of vital organs, blood, or anything else to kill Luna's body.

Kyle hugs Ester.
"Hey, it's okay. Have you ever thought of trying to sway your dad to believe that magic isn't bad? Because either he starts thinking better of magic people or... you have a reason to not go back."
Cue Ester's dad and Angel's mom forming Parents Against Magic.
...Actually, that sounds like a great group. *scribble scribble*

P.S. Is Alistair going to give Maria or Selian the mail he stole?

Sen wrecks her car multiple times but laughs while doing so.
"So much destruction. How fun~" Sen enjoys the game. But hands the control back to Ashley and begins to wander to outside the house.
<You might have made it 50 feet if Sen hadn't crashed into you.>
"Shut up."

8573
I'll freely admit to being a noob.

Much racing...very....
[1v1v1v1]
...HOW.

EVERYONE LOST TO THE AI.
Angel is too busy getting out of the stands to notice.

Meme comes in and pats Angel's back gently, trying to comfort her.
"Thanks."

The new game starts up. It doesn't take long before...
<Wow. You smashed a hole in that wall.>
"Yeah, but I wrecked my car."
After respawning, Angel accidentally drives through the hole.
<So that's why there was a wall.>

Well, I'm not sure my actions would be any different. My protocol for combat is as follows.

1. Identify Things.
2. Determine Whether to Shoot the Things or Smash the Things.
3a. Shoot the Things.
3b. Determine Which Smasher to Smash With.
4. Smash the Things.
5. Rinse and Repeat.
That step has you smashing things after shooting them.

Einsteinian Roulette / Re: Einsteinian Roulette: Repair and Rescue
« on: January 12, 2014, 05:02:39 pm »
((The way I look at it, science fiction and fantasy are more settings than stories. If it has golems and magic, it's fantasy. If it has robots and psionics, it's science fiction. If it has a weird mix of both, it's not a justification to lump the two together.))

((Like I said, Star Wars is one of the precursors of modern sci-fi. And by your logic, Einsteinian Roulette is even more firmly in the category of fantasy than Star Wars, because it calls its magic magic and never really tries to explain it.))
((Actually, that is something that occurred to me. It's got magic (space magic and STEPHEN HAWKING'S shamanic rituals), evil spirits, prophetic hallucinations, it's even got its own version of cessation of progress. Though I do believe the name of space magic is something that came from the players and piecewise just rolled with it. I don't think anybody in the actual setting who isn't a PC calls it that. And it's not that it doesn't try to explain it, it merely makes it very difficult to find out anything about it. So, without knowing the underlying knowledge of the matter, it's hard to gauge how fantastic ER actually is.))
((So, wait. You're saying that if there could be an explanation for the "magic," we can't call it fantasy?))
((No, he's saying there explicitly IS an explanation, but we aren't high enough on the chain of knowing things to know what it is. What you're saying is like going "oh the government won't tell me the codes to the nuclear missles, so clearly they don't exist" :P))
((There's always an explanation, it's just a question of:
A. how deep it is
B. if the readers are ever told
C. if the author knows
Hence, your current argument places all fantasy under sci-fi because magic has an explanation that a nice Renaissance and a couple centuries would find.))
((So you're saying fantasy becomes sci-fi once it receives an explanation? There are plenty of "fantasy" settings where magic is well understood by the masses. Are those settings immediately reclassified as sci-fi?))
((I'm not saying that, Baldman is (see the bolded text in the pyramid). I'm merely dissecting his logic to point out the flaws.))

8580
((Of course not. Alistair is the Maria, who was the one complaining about Selina not spending time with her.))

"Hi, Ali!" Angel hugs him.
((Maria didn't complain either. She wondered once why. Mainly Cado. :P ))
Alistair is hugged? Maria smirks and....kills Alistair's character in game.
"GO GO KITTY RENGAR."
"No fair! Angel was hugging me!"
Maria sticks her tongue out.
"Sorry. It's just been a while since I've even seen you..."

Eh.

Maria and Alistair race with her because why not.
Angel joins.
<Wow. I had no idea you could actually land in the stands. Nice job.>
"I wasn't trying to do that."
<This game's really advanced. You can almost see the squished-->
"SHUT UP!"
Yeah, Angel's not very good at this.
