Hey. Hey guys. This thread? It exists. Use it for OOC chatter.

Oh yes, I also found out about a thing that exists and expands on the bullet proof fancy clothes. Biosteel. It's made by a sheep that has spider DNA apparently and is stronger than kevlar. Would that be an appropriate thing to make a suit out of? Or maybe make a bunch of sweaters and wear those?
It's basically spider silk. Probably.

((...I'm nerfing Diarama.))
Kyle is now back to full health.
How much nerf? Will Kyle be added to the list of healers no one ever remembers to use?

((Can you tell I'm starting to run out of interesting moves to use in battle?))
"Only using one move? That's poor taste."

I think I'll call it Lucifer now.
((So Kyle has a katana far darker than even black which he has given a name that means "shining one"?))
He probably doesn't know what it means.

((Could it be enchanted to act as a credit card then? Is Adam Smith a viable persona?))
((...no and no.))
Why not? It's all in the engineering.
Why not? He's pretty legendary.

She's part italian and he doesn't speak Japanese as far as I know >____>
So?

Hey, kj, is Keith transgender like The First Magic Girls Keith is, or just lesbian and pretending to be male for some reason?

9272
Keith wanders up stairs looking for people to talk to. Or Will.
Will exists if she needs someone to talk to.

"Reverently, I am but a vessel for my masters will. Hail Satan 666!"
Will grabs the robot with his demonic arm. He starts to lift it before grabbing his shoulder in pain; he settles for pinning it against a wall.
"I'm going to keep you here until I have convincing evidence that that was just a joke."
We really need to get your arm klooked at Will
"To figure what out? It's a regenerating, strong arm imbued with demonic essence that--" He releases HK. "--is affecting my judgement and may have other effects. Now, solving? That would be nice."

Izzy sits, fuming.
"Why am I-I so worried about that K-Keith going out with that...i-idiot? It's n-not like I care.."
If her phone is smart, it beeps with a text. The text is merely a link.

<Hey, Selina, glad you're back. Could you pull out some stuff for me?>

Uh...not sure if that counts as safe or not...because the rock vanished.
(("Survey says...*ding* No!"
Maybe doing Who Wants to Be a Millionaire would have worked better, but I don't know the audience-surveying line.))

((That's...comforting?))

((More like feed ourselves to the thing.))

Into the belly of the beast!
You Promptly turn around and leap down the hole, falling several stories before landing in a fleshy mass of what appears to be intestinal tissue and stomach acid at the bottom of the hole. Around you are slowly beating, throbbing and churning organs and arteries that crisscross the room and hang from the ceiling to floor like vines. Your boots seem to be dissolving in the acid.
((That was typical.))

((Called it!))
((Same, more or less.))

((So if this is our biohorror, and it's essentially a nonharmful... sitting... thing... What do we do?
((I'd call it pretty harmful. It just needs to be contained.
Or asploded, I guess.))

((Yes? When I said "Into the belly of the beast", I was making a clever pun.))
((And it was very accurate.))

Creatures need to be stated. I was thinking making them have stats equal to 2x the potency score needed to make them. That way creatures with more stuff pumped into them are naturally stronger as well.
That sounds like a pretty good way to state them.

Not yet, I'm catching up on the backstory-ey elements.

Spoiler: X-Com (click to show/hide)

...?

Go down the line, telling them of how proud I am of my son, even though he just got ripped to shreds in a reactor accident.....he got better though.
"Um...thanks?"
Ignore him. He's crazy.
He did give us our immortality, though.
Probably, yeah, but that doesn't quote make sense...

Angel sighs. "Great. I bet if I hadn't died, I could have helped them..."

Continue being all sad and depressed. Depressad, which is the most morose portmateau I've ever seen. Also watch the mission and try out the buttons.

((Well technically, "might" was right. If you hadn't so spectacularly failed your first Will save, as well as the third and last one, you may have actually gotten the stuff under control, or perhaps fizzled out in a more controllable manner.

This is the same as saying that playing football with a nuclear bomb might be dangerous.))
((See, if someone was asking sweetly if they could play football with a nuclear bomb and asked me if it would be safe, I would have said no. Because, sooner or later, you are going to fail a Will save, and you can't stop playing without getting killed by the referee. Okay, that metaphor kinda got bent out of shape, but you get my point.))
((Okay. So now, imagine you don't rightly know how the bomb works. You might know it would take an effort to get it to detonate, but now imagine that, on top of that, the person asking had just disassembled and reassembled the bomb using a device that you know even less about. All you know is that it was still a nuclear bomb, and something going wrong with it will make a mess, but you don't rightly know what would happen.

So the Doktor was in the same situation. Quoth the Doktor,:
Quote
Such things may be dangerous, Manipulator batteries do not carry electrical charges.
Evidently he knows more of the manipulators than the average person, but he is far from an expert (that would be the AM). Both the pill machine and the battery itself are essentially blackbox. Combining a known unknown danger with a known unknown beneficiary (as the pill effects were, so far, mostly not immediately harmful to the user), from a knowledgeable but out-of-depth Doktor's standpoint, results in a collective *shrug*. He doesn't know what will happen. The pill would change you, and the manipulator batteries change the universe, but the end result is less two plus two and more logbattlecruiser(turquoise). So you got what you got. A statement of possible danger and a nebulous warning.
((I'm pretty sure that "Don't do it, you dumb kid!" would have been a better warning. Regardless of what the Doctor admits to knowing, he seems to know enough that he should realize what a bad idea it was.))

Quote
In retrospect, you really should have asked the AM.))
((That seems to be the conclusion, yes.))

9283
Well, if they do enconter her, I'm pretty sure that Cyrielle won't get a persona out of it since her shadow will just refuse to turn into one and point out that people need shadows and that you can't really interchange them with personae because that would be like trading your id for a super-ego.
Which is roughly like exchanging your colon for another heart: It sounds pretty good, until you realize how stupid it is.

Kyle gives Yuri an annoyed look.
"Yuri, you seem to be ignoring me. I asked what you think this is made of."
So tactful.

((I'm working on (ab)using snipers, but still working on Step 3: Locate Good Ground. Ie, ground where Squadsight helps, because it doesn't seem to grant LOS if there is a wall/statue/car/etc in the way.))
((Rockets and excess grenades are your best friends in that regard.
((Noted.))

Quote
Also, if you have Enemy Within, play with some Second Wave options enabled. Namely, Training Roulette. It shuffles the non-weapon-specific skills in the soldiers' skill trees, so you could, for instance, have a Sniper with Sentinel. And Covering Fire, which, in EW, grants a reaction before the enemy fires. Sure, you'd need to be lucky to get a single soldier with that, but it's possible.))
((So that's what that button does...))
