I guess I'll be working on the turn soon, huh? Also Gain Control is only for neutral provinces. Conquering other people's provinces is as easy as putting some grunts in the province (gameplay and story segregation, I know).
Can we conquer neutral provinces?

The EDL requests that the Terran Empire ceases all hostilities immediately. Failing this, the EDL requests aid from any who will give it, on the basis that allowing such an empire to expand would be a grave mistake. The Empire has broken it's treaty so quickly and so indifferently, and proved it cannot be trusted.
NERIELS agrees almost immediately, though this came as a surprise to perhaps half a dozen individuals in the entire system.

((In other words..... bloody hell, that was earlier than expected Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!))
((FTFY.))

While GWG had not made the same mistake, I doubt any of us can dispute that, once I moved preemptively against sjm, GWG would pitch in for his side.
Well, duh. I kinda like laws.

On a serious note, you could always try, you know, explaining yourself. Not everyone feels exactly like you do. And in the long term, it's better for all of us if we don't go to war right now.

Except the couch potatoes, of course.
But yeah. Humans have a lot of remarkable characteristics that are never thought about. Stamina, breath-holding, near-hairlessness, concealed ovulation (well, half of us, at least)...

The first five elves enter the arena, unwrapping their gifts.

[3] Twink unwraps some kind of weird metal thing. It seems to be...ears? With spiky metal bits? They spring at his face, ripping off and replacing his current set.
GREETINGS, TWINK.

[4+2] Raron unwrapped a paper airplane memo thing, tipped with a nail, which promptly began flying about quickly.

[4+1] Rom's gift is...a bottle of eggnog. Ooh.

[1-1] FedUps's gift seems to be chainmail made of candy corn. Tasty, if no one wears it first of course. It has a number of longer, slenderer points sticking inwards. I wonder why...

[3-2] Markland discovers a nice helping of pudding. Figgy pudding. Made with figs. Which were made into pudding. Seems safe enough!

Spoiler: Combatants (click to show/hide)

P.S.

That's not a rhetorical question. I'm open to suggestions on powers and such, as well as other such things.

That's why I love playing germany. It may seem like a really disadvantageous position, but germany pulls all the levers. If done right, germany should always end the first year with 3 builds. 2 builds is only a compromise for those without confidence.
Or those who got bounced a bunch.

Lets start the paranoia train going, shall we?
About time.

REALLY.

REA--wait, reality?

Um...condition for what?

There are many "brain dead" former HMRC members, still born or mindless since soon after they awoke. They're not listed as dead, but they don't seem to be around. I wonder if they might come back?
So, you're basically going to find in-game justifications for quirks of how the game works? Neat.

I wonder if there are any long term effects of Amp usage?
Yes. Overshots.

I wonder what ever happen to that serial killer The team failed to kill?  Wasn't there something about people disappearing into the woods on the television some time ago?
Wouldn't centuries have passed since that mission?

I wonder, what will the UWM if ARM becomes a true threat? To what lengths will they go?
Eh, not so paranoia-inducing as the others.

Oh, and on an unrelated note, which of these seems the most interesting:

A Game based on Pacific Rim where Players partake in an XCOM like mix of base management and combat?

A Game where players hunt great monsters, using their bodies as materials for crafting weapons, armor and advancements for their little nomadic society.

A pretty hard sci-fi game about being a crew transporting things around the solar system through the use of a Dangerous pseudo-FTL system and in which the rolls are kept to a very minimum, since the navigation and piloting of the ship are done through the use of actual modeled cockpits and systems, complete with rather thick and complex manuals.
I'd say the second. The third sounds more like a video game than a forum game, while the first is a bit...meh.

Keith begins the customary mind reading of the new people.
She gets greeted by Moriko. [1] OW! Headaches hurt.
She does the scanning thing, and looks confused. She knocks on Chihu's door, and he takes the form. "Hm. Interesting."
Chihu comes out.
[5] Ew. Oh god.
"I'd prefer you not read my mind. I kinda like my privacy. Now then, miss...Keith?"

edit: except for that Austria, not even I can turn that around.
Oh? Is it really that bad?

The group heads back to town.
"We'll be in touch if we have need of you, alright?"

Kyle arrives at...well, the same place everyone else was at.

((Huh? No, by 'true' fate I meant what would've really happened in that fight if I were the AS.
Which is my headcanon because seriously they don't know how the dodge.))
((Also, it's a hilarious mental image.))

((Huh? No, by 'true' fate I meant what would've really happened in that fight if I were the AS.
Which is my headcanon because seriously they don't know how the dodge.
Also bundle of reasons why IG stopping because of Hogarth isn't being beaten that I won't go into here because seriously this is going on too long.))
((Eh, not like anyone else is posting :P
And your headcanon isn't the actual canon. Plus it doesn't take into account that the way spiral energy works, dodging makes you WEAKER. GL is an awesome universe :P))
((Wait, isn't this a mecha show? Wouldn't it be easier to justify an inability to dodge with real physics?
Also, what's spiral energy?))

((Ok so I guess that means rats in this world are dumb enough to attack something that can kill them just from contact (to say nothing of convection).))
((You know what they say about cornered rats. Or rats in RPGs*.))

((*You know, this works for either "Role-Playing Game"** or "Rocket-Propelled Grenade launcher".))
((**[insert digression about applicability of the term to video games here]))

Sorry about not starting yet. I've been sick and/or busy with holiday-related stuff and hence haven't finished the loot gift generator. As compensation, you can see what I have so far here.

<Ow. Ow. OW! Okay, okay!
That was weird. There was a UAV in the house. On the other hand I now want to raid a military base for spare parts.>
((FTFY.))

Quote
((Hey what are the odds of me being able to steal spare UAVs from a military base?))
((I'd say slim to felony.))

<No just in general. Actually I think we could steal from a military base if we planned it out. Get Will to make the plan and then the rest of us on different jobs... We could steal a jet! Or we could just rob a bank.>
<Not unless we had a really good reason. My criminal record's clean so far, I'm not interested in risking that for no reason.>

<Being a really good guy doesn't pay bills and my only marketable skill is my ability to make things most people wouldn't dream of. Can anyone give me a reason not to plan a bank robbery and be set for life?>
<You could just as easily get a contract for a few dozen units of powered armor with some government or another and be set for life. If you want to be villainous, you could sell them to a terrorist organization instead. Besides, banks only have 40 to 50 grand cash, tops, at any given time.>

<She's just in a surprisingly uneventful crossover. She should be back soon.>
((I'm out of ideas for what to happen on the ship right now and waiting for night to come before the next idea I've had can be implemented. Or maybe just a timeskip to when the ship arrives in Australia in a couple days.))

<Iris headquarters in a massive vault made to withstand a nuclear impact that's buried under the very bottom most level of the compound locked with a combination and key only members of my family have access to. And in their safety deposit box.>
<You know, all this talk of robberies makes me want to try breaking into that...Kyle, would you say that you are representative of your family?>

<You aren't understanding this. Not even Void himself is allowed in. That's how protected it is. It even has a nuclear explosive device in it that's triggered upon a person that isn't allowed in stepping on the ground. It has as much money in there as it cost to build.>
<That is impractical on so many levels.>

<I suppose all those systems are deterrence measures to ensure that rather than true protection mechanisms.>
<Not very effective deterrence...Finding out about all of them makes me want to break in more.>

I find out of all the groups that we can play the Romans are most screwed if they fight alone. There are records of more than one battle where the troops got separated (conveniently against various groups of barbarians) and were pretty much slaughtered to the last man within five or so minutes due to the fact that while barbarians know how to fight on their own Romans never learned how to. Their entire battle style is stand next to people and stab from behind your shield until there are no more people. Honestly it would make more sense if we were the barbarians fighting the massive Roman army. They're better fit to attack us with wave after wave of unending troops while the barbarians are built to have a few guys fighting on their own against larger forces. And yes I am aware barbarians versus Romans is a choice. I just didn't think about how ridiculous single Romans fighting would be.
I'd say more "pathetic" than "ridiculous," but yeah. Roman military doctrine works a lot better when they aren't outnumbered.
