The BioMass mod does it.
Would that be the one that alway said was "broken" and "crap"?

992
Because it's really not needed to be included. Especially since one of the simpler water-extraction methods leaves it no longer icy.

On the subject of life support mods...is it possible, with TAC Life Support, to make your own food in space with hydroponics or something, or are fully self-sustaining space stations/colonies/etc impossible?

Athena is definitely associated with war, even now. Also wisdom, but definitely war. She's also associated with the forge, so naming the AI managing a forge world ATHENA makes a lot of sense to me. So that it was named ARES? Suggests to me that ATHENA is the name of something much scarier :P
(She also has issues with Hephaestus, but honestly *all* the greek gods have issues with all the other greek gods. Almost without exception.)
I said Athena is more often remembered as being a goddess of wisdom.
And of course they did. If I spent time with folks who did as nasty of stuff as your typical Greek deity, I would also have issues with them, however hypocritical that might be if I was one too.

I for one, do not want little Xanlings hopped up on magic space pills. Violently opposed to it in fact.
Looks like I've got a volunteer for human testing!
Seriously, unless I can get a clone bank or something it's random animals I can find, Xanlings, or other inmates.

I was thinking we could name a security AI for Hephaestus TALOS, by the way.
I support this idea in lack of a better name. Although Talos would probably be better suited for a Titan. Talos being a giant robot and all.
Then again, we could name our Titans after actual Titans. Cronus, Hyperion, Iapetus, Atlas...
EDIT: Oh, and Uranus. That's got pun written all over it.
Oo...ran...us...I don't see it.
Anyways, given the number of things we have named after gods of various sorts...that works well, actually.

You could rename one of the three moons of Hephaestus Europa or Crete and put TALOS there.
Europa is already a big-name moon. And we wouldn't want to put a vital part of our security system light-seconds away from everything we want secure. (Plus, then we'd have to secure the moon, too.)

Seriously, is there a way to use plug.dj without something that identifies my RL name? I know some of you know mine already stupid Google but I'd like to keep that stuff private.

Why on earth are green page words for me harder to say than red page words?!
Possibly luck. Possibly...something deeper.

You just voted me without any reason behind it but to return a vote :v
It's as good a reason as anyone's gonna have at this stage.
Uh, no it isn't.
Really.
None of us have any evidence whatsoever, except for stuff they try to interpret from stray "suspicious" words or how they vote, which only matters if you know what they know about other players, which relies on interpreting stray words.
Tell me again why these reasons are in any way "good".

What purpose were you forwarding?
Hm?
I believe the question is understandably legible that something more than an expression can satisfy it, yes?
No. No, it isn't. If it was, I would have answered. You're asking...something about an ulterior motive, maybe? If you were, why'd you phrase it like that? Is there some specific type of purpose or "forwarding" method I would be using?

1. Why do you think that I'm referring specifically to your roles?
2. Nicely said.
3. Can you be more specific?
4. I agree.
5. Rolefishing = trying to find out people's roles.
1. I don't.
3. No. That's the problem.
5. Ah. At this stage? Pretty much nothing to go on. Later stages? A little better.

I just reread the thread, and oh...  Sorry GWG, but my last post wasn't actually pointed at you, although it may seem like it.
Amusing how that ended up, huh?

GreatWyrmGold:  What are the most pertinent scumtells to you?
Votes. Anything else is something the person wants to have posted, so any tells you read from them are as likely to be meaningless as not.

GWG:  How will you be making your decisions in this game?  Gut, logic, deductive analysis, fact...???
I intend to be trying to do this logically. That's part of why it's going to be tough at first. Once we've got some deaths in the tents, and some past voting records, it'll be easier.

GreatWyrmGold: Your current experience of Mafia seems downright poor.  Just for this game's sake, what things should I avoid behavior-wise, and why?
Berating me for the reasons I use for choosing my actions, because that's just mean.
Using logical fallacies, because I will deconstruct them so hard...um...your argument will self-destruct, I guess.
Accusing people for stupid reasons, because I'll vote to have you lynched if there's no one better.
That's about all that immediately comes to mind.

I dunno, man. I don't even really want to play Mafia after getting a taste.

GreatWyrmGold for that reason.

Please do not do quote pyramids. It's not funny and it detracts from the time Toady One have to code DF.

Wait.

Um.. Now I have a question on the thermite charges. Is it Iron II oxide, Copper I Oxide, Copper II oxide, or is it thermate?
Yes.
Does it matter? The planes we intend to use them on are about as aerodynamic as a brick and yet have the range of an advanced transoceanic jet, and have plating made from an alloy that negates nearby demonic magics. The precise chemical nature of the burny charges isn't important.

((Wait. Did anyone post a turn where they saved Sen, Alucard, and Hilda from crashing into the Ocean?))
Nomad wrote a turn where HILDA crashed into the "ground".

I'll take a helmet and a ballista, please.

Watch our backs, yes. Dak see if there's anything useful in the crashed ship? No. It's not his purpose, and it might look like we're just looting the ship.

...Rikrin needs a purpose. Maybe he could be a loot-searcher/gatherer? You could convince me to send him to check.

1003
A road, eh? Ten bucks says this is actually the future.
I'll take that bet.

I love how we're still using Greek names to identify things. Probably because PW is a big fan of 'foreshadow by reference', but still :P
The Roman gods already have big-name planets.

Quote
Glancing at the wiki article, you're probably right, but honestly Greek / Roman mythology is a mess if you want to chart out the relationships... The most enduring thing about them seems to be their domains, so I can believe that the names were chosen just based on that. Though Athena seems like a much better choice of name... which makes me terrified about where that name *was* used.
Athena is more often remembered as being associated with wisdom than war. Ares was more focused on being a war god, IIRC.

A favor to be called in at a later date.
Grate's staying on Hephaestus, so unless you want to sit around, making test subjects, watching people build stuff, and eventually helping deal with any invasions, it can't be much later.
Also, what level of favor? Fetch a coffee? Sponsor a new line of cereal? Assassinate an Archduke?

Of course!
For an unspecified price of course
I'd prefer we discuss price ahead of time. What were you thinking?

It's not exactly in his possesion right now though, so... Yeah. Might want to work on that before making other plans.
Didn't you say Miya would let him have it back before he left Hephaestus?
