I think I also have something like that, mason gets stone from stockpile and puts it into the masons shop then someone gets the stone and puts it back into the stockpile.

Maybe they're aiming for exposed areas or joints (Plate mail is always weakest at the joints).

The mechanisms aren't anything 'sublime', most are without quality modifiers, and the ones with quality modifiers are just -mechanisms-, no +mechanisms+ or better.  The floodgates are equally mediocre.

Keiseth, my dwarves are quite well fed, thank you.  All the syrup stew they can eat, and 12 to 1 ratio of rum to dwarves.
