Balance and Ruin is just it's own boatload of differing opinions and tastes rolled into a giant album the likes of which maybe never be seen again.
Couldn't agree more. I found that especially many of the more electronic music-style songs were very jarring after something with "real" instruments.

To be honest I  found the joke not-very-funny to begin with, but I don't really think rape jokes are inherently worse than any other horrible-event jokes. Still, freedom of speech obviously involves freedom to criticise as well. By lashing against their critics in such a way with their media muscle, the Penny Arcade bunch were trying to quell freedom of speech in the name of freedom of speech, which I don't know if it's ironic or just moronic.
Except that freedom of speech also involves freedom to lash out against your critics.

I mostly drink the cheaper market-grade stuff (beer and long drinks mostly) due to price, but on the more expensive department I like toffee/coffee liqueur with milk. Don't really like much of the stronger drinks, but I drink 'em occasionally. Both red and white wine are kinda meh to me and I absolutely despise champagne and sangria.

First day in uni was a lot more fun than first day in any previous school I've been in. As in, it involved drinking from 14:00 to ??:??, first in a park and then in a bar.

Someone has already received a windpipe made by similar method. Here is a video about it. (The windpipe part comes at the end.)

Here it's definitely faster to take the elevator than the stairs - at least on my walking pace - but I guess the exercise won't hurt.

Last night, I had an unusual version of deja vu. Usually it is just a vague feeling of familiarity, but last night I had what I am now dubbing a "independent repeat thought". I immediately realized that a thought I had in a daydream was exactly, down to my mental wording and imagery, identical to one I had months before. I call it independent because I came up with it separately instead of remembering the first thought.
Related; I have this "mind game" I used to play a lot when I was younger - that is I used to imagine a continuous maze pattern of sorts and mentally went trough it - especially when lying in bed before falling asleep. The pattern was always the same and nowdays I occasionally have an urge to "play" it, but I can no longer recall the pattern. It's like I can almost remember it, but I can never quite recall it. It's definitely a weird feeling.

I hope not. Common sense would have given the 'researchers' the same answer.
Except that Common Sense Is Neither Common nor Sense. I would much rather questions that are obvious according Common sense be researched, rather than to just assuming you know the answer.

Now I've finally moved to the city where my school starts next week. I also have Internet access for the first time in about two weeks. It is also way faster than the one I had before.

Please note that I was impatient and voted after just reading the title and the question "Should I?" and answered no, you shouldn't ask Bay12 to make your decisions for you.

For the matter of asking her out, you shouldn't ask Bay12 to make your decisions for you. That being said, go for it.

Just got rid off my lush hair in favor of buzz cut.

Well, I found the Finnish version of this pretty good, so the English one(linked) should be decent as well. If you want to, you can just read the material and do the exercises, or if you are using Netbeans-IDE and get a plugin (requires registration), you can take advantage of automatic code-testing. (Just follow the instructions on the page.)
