General Discussion / Re: Happy New Year!

Twenty minutes until 2013, twenty minutes to get drunk*! Happy New Year to everyone!

*(too late)

First game for me was the original Zelda on my friends NES. I remember being constantly over at his house playing it or watching him play it :D

We didn't get our first computer - or any other device capable of gaming - until I was on my first year at school; that is year 2000. I remember that the computer came with Midtown Madness 2 and Crimson Skies. Ah... Good times.

EDIT:
C&C were how me and my Dad bonded.  I would sit on the computer, and he would teach me how to crush m enemy with a legion of tanks.
I also had similar experiences with my dad playing Commandos 2, possibly the only game he has ever bought for himself. That game kicked my ass when I was 7. Nowdays I can beat the game without any kills or alarms. (Knocking the enemies out and tying them.) That game always has a special place in my heart as well as my hard drive.

Urist_McDrowner started up a shooting thread. Someone's going to get banned this time, I know it.  :'(
Tries to find a shooting thread. Nope. Checks moderation log. Yup...

Terrible Lawnmower Carnage (this goes with out saying)
Reminded me of this.

Yeah, that was poorly phrased. What I meant is that the nicotine withdrawal is gone. That is; no more headache or any other such effects.

277
Now it has been three days without a cigarette. I think it's safe to say that I've kicked the habit. Yay!

278
On another note: I've been two days without a cigarette now.

Hmmm, that's even more interesting, and gives more sense to some of the stuff I've found. I think it probably means the watch model, since the watchmaker isn't listed anywhere, something I've seen on other watches as well as the place the prize was given. But honestly the age is what's bugging me the most, maybe it's relatively new but wasn't handled with any care whatsoever, or it could be a hundred years old and changed a lot of hands. Something that I'll probably never know, damnable history.
Here's two watches I found with similiar inscriptions:
One
Two

Quote from the second one: "The dust cover with medals won by Invicta". Meaning the medal was won by the company, which most likely is the same company as the modern Invicta, since according to Wikipedia, it was founded in 1837.

Well the discussion is on colledges, not collages. This is not about art right now.
Yeah... I still think it's about colleges.

Stopped smoking, been without a cigarette for 24 hours now. Slight headache, but no other ill effects. (Except craving a cigarette of course.)
Shouldn't that be in the happy thread?
Yeah, I guess that would fit too.  :P

I agree. Even 24 hours is a bitch. You should be proud, dude. Only 48 more and the hard part is over.
Thanks for the encouragement.

Here in Finland all males pretty much have to take a gap year, due to military conscription. Of course you can postpone it until you have graduated from university, but most just get it out of the way as soon as possible.

"Lulz" was a corruption of the phrase "Lol" prevalent during /b/'s (The random board on 4chan.) glory days. It's rarely used nowadays, usually someone who uses it is just getting acquainted with the whole trolling subculture on the internet. Lulz was first a way to say lol in a plural form, but evolved into a phrase that described entertaining content.
"Trolling for lulz" = "Trolling for laughs" (ie. trolling because it is fun.) It has nothing to do with using the word "lulz".

The temple sits atop the seven thousand steps to the Throat of the World
There aren't nearly that many steps in the game though.
Steps according to lore: 7000.
Steps in game according Elder Scrolls Wikia: 748.

Dunno why she would need the number of in-game steps for fanfic though.
