Why is it that everyone hates elves? I know it's a long running theme in the forums, but I never quite understood it. I never had any issues with the elves other than elf adventurers starting with wooden gear. lol.

I can't speak for anyone else, but for me it's simply because they're portrayed as annoying idiots in most other fantasy settings, like books I've read etc. Obviously trolls like elves!

Pff, I refuse to dual-wield on principle of how unrealistic it is in real life... Well, perhaps excepting rapier/dagger, like in 1600's spain. I use a shield or two-handed weapon... Why do you need a second blade when you have teeth, anyway?

Awesome... Well, I added the adventurer tag to goblins in the raw files, making them playable.
My first goblin started with the normal equipment, and had pretty crap skills. They died to bogeymen, which was only annoying because they had an awesome randomly-generated name, "Brainhate".
So I made a new one, Yalqxi Uluxstosbub. "Yalqxi Brainhate".
He's out to avenge his relative, and he brought along an iron spear and traditional goblin war-mask.
He camped out in the wilderness until the bogeymen showed themselves, then unleashed the full fury of WAAAAGH and killed them all. ALL OF THEM! Now he's gonna wander the lands and stuff, the lone goblin, slaughtering everything that isn't green that gets in his path.

Yeah... And one of my adventurers and their buddies got rolled by a bunch of elves.

Have you generated around 100 years of history? It was suggested by Toady that you generate around 100 years to let the beasts settle.

Hmm, maybe most of the mosters and baddies have been wiped out by the year 500, and you just finished off the rest?

Gah. Questing all across the land, searching for the evil imposter-lord, to kill him, Kalplan Lockbridged has earned a title... "The Mindful Freckle of Morals". YAAAAAAHH! What?! What happened to, I don't know... The eviscerator of evils? The crusher of adversions?

I got ambushed several times by kobolds on my old, sadly perished, character! They're great fun to kill!
