Now i have to wait 5 seasons to for the lake to freeze to recover the dwarfs bodies  ::)

In my fortress defense mod game, I had 9 swords each with ~1000 notable kills, 9 spears each with ~300 notable kills and several other weapons with ~100 notable kills.
I quit cause of FPS issues  >:(

You can edit arena.txt in the init folder to change the arena.

I know my game crashes with segfault when the designated target of a squad leaves the location.

What did you do to break DF in this manner? Mine doesn't do that...

This seems specific to linux DF. I have the same problem on my Ubuntu machine, but its fine on my Windows one. 31.18 for both.

Get your world gen parameters (esc,export local images) and re-gen the world.

Ramps may or may not increase FPS. There is little evidence that suggests one is better than the other.

Also, doing a search for 'spiral ramp' turns out many more threads. Many.

In my previous fort, I got tired of hungry heads flying into my fort, so I tied a cow down there. The hungry heads almost always killed the cow  :'( and if they didn't the cow would have many red damages.
