I think we need to do the opposite of what we would normally do to each sibling; i.e., kill the ones we would normally save and save the ones we would normally kill.

However, Oric's reaction to us teaming up with Proxxy makes me think he has a plan in place that will make teaming up with all siblings very, very difficult.

I think Oric's reaction was annoyed but disconnected... sort of like how a GM will treat a rookie player's bullshit. I still think in the long run Oric doesn't feel that we'd ever beat him... but when we leave the Mechanic (Proxxy) alive it means we've created another player in the game with their own agenda plus if we've completely convinced her to leave Oric it means he's out of a Mechanic.

I say Mechanic because Proxxy's Soul Star apparently has some sort of maintenance function and when she dies, she'll be regenerated as another but will still be the Mechanic due to her Soul Star. So we can say the role Proxxy fills is the Mechanic. That said if we had killed her then Oric would have regened her and he'd have a perfectly compliant 100% loyal Mechanic.

I took as meaning that ????'s plan has six contingencies.

Like you said to derail ????'s plan we need to cause no less than seven major problems and they have to be problems that effect the plan. That said we might have already deviated more than expected, but the plan is still in motion.

I think the seven is just a significant number in general like the world being created in seven days, seven deadly sins, ect.

The thing here is whether we want to stop ????.

Though I should point out that ???? was hoping Ciro would suffer defeat, so the whole idea of Ciro being a vessel and the fact that the LSS didn't revive Ciro like it normally should could be a result of everything going as planned.

258
Why only this cycle?

It's part of the plan...

This cycle in particular has something going on. Seems the angels were hoping that Ciro would be placed into an LSS.

Cherish's color is orange-ish.

But the one image where there are two blue lights is problematic to that theory. While one might be the Blue Chick... who's the other one?
Here's a thought I've been having... is the Blue Chick one of the Siblings? Her color matches one of the unseen siblings... but...

Granted this might simply be that she's gone three cycles without being killed, but she might also be a pawn that the Angels are using.

I think the Brown lights are definitely Angels as every Angel we've seen is wearing that shade of brown.

Spoiler: I drew a thing (click to show/hide)

Yeah... I wasn't going to sleep tonight anyway.

FFS' notes?
No idea.

But, even if there isn't a magic-based DL, DL3 will still be the level in which we have a bigger advantage against Cain in case bad things happen.

Unless Cain's abilities are not considered magic for some reason.

Which for some reason I expect might be the case judging from his apparent power in the Sinful intermission.

I feel like I've hit the enter button a few too many time while writing this
Basically all of this was confirmed by Cain; but
Except the fact that the Target is used to prison the OS/LS, as well as provide power to the Underworld/Warrens'
THOERYCRAFTING GET!

Edit:AND WHAT ELEPHANT SAID

I think we still are missing Oric's key motive. Considering Ciro's quote about the Warrens being sterile... No one is supposed to get in and those who do are drained of Soul Charge and go on to become Illborn. Warrens is connected to more than one world and we've seen several Illborn from other worlds like our two mercenaries.

...

Hm.

Between... as in between two things.  Ford, as in what you do to cross a river.

Does this make Betweenford a link between... something?  Perhaps he is akin to Death, and leads the wayward souls into the Warrens?

Betweenford might be a reference to Charon. The guy who sails the boat on the River Stix.

263
Well now.

This is a lot of information.

And I think a lot of the theory crafting has its gaps.

So the Warrens was intended to power the underworld, but Oric wrangled control and now uses it for his own devices.

The idea he's using the Siblings and the Target as a generator is correct, but apparently he is trying to accomplish something else. Which we know at least partly it is being used to keep Oric and his Siblings alive indefinitely. It also continues the process of the Underworld growing and consuming more...

The Angel's Lord is the Devil which is naturally the she that was mentioned a few times here and there as well as the Last Seraph (her siblings were all killed).
The King is Oric and now we know why the Angels follow him, his Soul Star. Or at least I guess it is his Soul Star... perhaps it is the Devil's Soul Star (which would explain the control over the Devil herself). But the Angels are apparently waiting for their Lord to rise again.

We also know Soul Charge can be used to restore a body and that the Soul is more important. Perhaps the Devil has been slowly hoarding Soul Charge to restore herself, but still Oric must be taken care of for her to be released. As long as Oric lives he can always restore order either by using the Soul Star or by being Awesome.

Now I understand why Oric doesn't really care much about the proceedings... Ciro can't kill Oric because if he does all hell will break loose... literally. So as part of the cycle if Ciro manages to beat Oric's game... Ciro will end up giving up in order to keep the Devil chained. This leaves Oric to continue his game.

Edit: Also the Angels we know are Cherubs... the Seraphs were all killed save for one.

Why is this named Bay12Games?

Aliens

Should have done an image link with the History Channel guy.

Something feels wrong...

I really don't trust Cain to tell us anything useful. He's a troll remember...
Then he's going all Hannibal on us with the quid-pro-quot thing.

I think for dealing with Cain we might need to take an unorthodox approach. We should attempt to tip our hand a bit.
We know a couple things he might be curious about and if we can hint that we might know something about it, we might
have better progress. Plus he's bored and nuts at least the story about one our companions becoming a nightmare beast and causing the
earlier blackout might interest him enough to pull some info out of him.

Also, I'm assuming pure nightmare fuel lies behind the Cain's Claw option.

Finally, why does Oric have Cain bound in such a small area if he is still intended to be a boss? We also know that Cain has seen multiple cycles and that he's met the Target before. I assume that we don't actually need to fight him at all, but Oric is hoping we try. On the other hand, perhaps the fact we know about this prison isn't a good thing. Maybe there's a trick or trap that allows Cain to fight us. We need to be cautious about any assumptions we make here.

Out of curiosity, has anyone figured out how the Asynchrony Catalyst works yet?

Considering Asynchrony means the state of being not synchronized and Catalyst means cause... it causes two things to become unsynchronized...

Considering Visited is set to true and its using X,Y coordinates... I think it is used to cause some kind desync between two rooms that have been visited.

Others theorized it being a teleport of some kind...

We need to preform some experiments. Like trying to change Scope and setting X Y blocks to numbers...

+1 to checking mercenaries before we leave
+1 to at least meeting Auntie

Also, just a thought but we have some spare change for a change we can buy something...

Like one of those rings that give a +1 to DR or something else that may be useful...

I think at least we should invest in an Identify Scroll to see if it works on Ciro... because that was one of the mentioned ways to learn about passive skills. Since the Polar Eye can't even read Ciro's Tier 1 abilities we might want to try another method, because if it works we'll gain a useful skill that doesn't take an inventory slot.

268
I don't know if we'll be able to reach Cain as easily as it sounds...  :-[

Not that I'm against it or anything. I just think there might be some complications.

Seriously, it seems that a character can be revived from death an unnumbered amount of time since death is to the body.
But...

I think part of the difference between Willborn and Illborn is actually provided already.

While Riltia's Soul Star was damaged and corrupt while a Willborn, we know that regular Illborns' Soul Stars are no longer in one piece from the DS arc-quest.
But Riltia's Star seemed to be in one piece. We also know that to revert a Willborn all we need to do is pump them with Soul Charge. And the possibility of reverting Illborn requires reconstructing the Soul Star from the Binding and the Essence.

270
Waitaminute...
The Soul is more important than the body...

Oric wants Ciro to die... because Narrative Control switches to the nearest person to the current carrier. So if one of the siblings is the only one close then Astral Influx will switch Narrative Control automatically to them like it did to Al the first time Ciro died.

Oric wants to gain control of the Astral Influx's Narrative Control either by proxy (literally Proxxy if we died to her lol) or himself.

Oric wants to be the main character!! Dun dun duuuuuuunnn...
