General Discussion / Re: SCIENCE, the Higgs, and everything else!
« on: March 02, 2015, 02:56:23 pm »
Time most definitely exists.
This seems to refute the concept of time as being a tangible thing. All it does is describe cause and effect, states that everything happens because of the collective properties of everything in the universe, and that what appears to be on a larger scale may not necessarily be reflected on a smaller scale.

I understand the heat death.
Is it perhaps possible for heat energy to convert into another type of energy.
Like a heat eating spacewhale?

Does time exsist? I understand it and can see a watches hand moving but is time an actual force?

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I'm thinking no, and all the supposed time dilation would just be various forces combining to slow the movement of the particles. If suddenly gravity was 5X normal, how fast do you think you would be able to move? The concept of manipulating or traveling through time presents a physical paradox, no matter how I look at it. Well, unless you add something like new dimensions or some other magic BS with no solid evidence.

But that's just me. I'm not even sure if that's the prevailing theory among physicists, or if it's just the result of uneducated hype or having to simplify it for the less informed masses. Yay for not being able to trust anyone.

I can now imagine objective and descan going up to a black hole and trying to look as pretty as possible to see it naked.
Then, when you look under it's event horizon...

Difference is, most of our inventions can't actively think.

But why does Zelda wear that same green hood in every game?
>implying non-existence of Lobster Shirt Master Race.
Wind Waker is dope, yo. Is there any other Zelda game with a New Game +?
I hate games without a new game plus, because I always dislike playing through a game again depowered yet knowing all the powers you could have polished to perfection.
I was really disappointed with bioshock infinite about that.
In Spirit Tracks, you get to use the Train Conductor's uniform.

Is there any other Zelda game with a New Game +?
-The first one with rearranged dungeons, overworld, and items
-Ocarina of Time 3D (not the original OoT) counts, because you unlock Master Quest after you win the first time
-Skyward Sword has Hero Mode after you win, where random hearts don't spawn, ever
-A Link between Worlds, my least favorite, also has "hero mode" after you beat the game the first time
-Zelda 2 lets you restart with all your spells and stuff leveled up.
-Oracle of Ages/Seasons could continue after one another, and depending on the order and name you use, it changes things. Additionally, you get the "hero's secret" after you beat both, that lets you start over again with an extra ring and heart container.

I think I've been on the internet too long, because all those pics don't really affect me except making the page way too big. It's annoying, the amount of time to scroll past it.

Well, that was a bit excessive.

@Baffler: my limited experience in this field indicates the correct course of action would be to send a dick pic in response, followed by a request for more nudes. Possibly throw in some compliments, too.
Make sure it's a back-handed compliment. Make them think they can do better. Sometimes they need encouragement.

She would get a bunch of supplies, and find 6 more dwarves to go with her.

WWUD if Mormans moved in next door?

People keep mentioning "the Nexus thread" and I have no idea what it was. Can someone provide a link, or has it been scrubbed from existence all together? If it's the latter, what is it about?

No, the Nexus guy was redirected here by Kravoka, who then apologized. [Kravoka's] avatar was... I think it was a heart.

He was then banned after redirecting trolls from Kongregate here and then warning us about it, seemingly attempting to cause inter-forum drama. An internet turf war, if you will. The redirection on Kongregate, which one of the "trolls" linked to, also contained fanfiction about Putnam and I and referred to us as "autistic hugboxers".
Partial ninja, but still doesn't quite address all my curiosities.
