A paradox-esque grand strategy game with a random/procedural map generator akin to Civilization or Dwarf Fortress, with tons of options on world gen and gameplay.
The game would have the tech level range from early tech (like Babylonian empire early) all the way to the near future (mechs are a must-include), with some level of unit customization (Elemental done right), detailed economics and diplomacy (paradox games again), massive RTT Total War-style battles going on in zoomable, pauseable real time with intelligent AI ministers, generals, etc. (okay, so yeah, this is in my dreams)...
Or even ixnay that last bit, make it turn-based or pauseable real-time with Total War-style battles that freeze the campaign while the battle goes on to be somewhat more realistic (as in realistically do-able). I wouldn't even care if the battles were more arcade-y than Total War, so long as they were truly massive.

« on: January 25, 2013, 10:21:34 am »Having looked at the GateCrash cars revealed pre-release, which is to say, tomorrow, and gaped at some of the most deliciously broken cards i have ever seen, i suggest we get a cockatrice draft together as soon as possible.
Broken cards such as...? The only semi-playable combo enabler I've seen is Duskmantle Guildmage, and that's for modern (and extended if that were a thing anymore). Pretty much every card is on or under curve. Frontline Medic pushes the curve just a little admittedly, and Aurelia's Fury is certainly pushed to be playable competitively, but beyond that... *shrug* I don't really see any of the new cards as being 'broken'.
Not to say I'm not excited about it though; I'm really looking forward to finally being able to have my Sedris EDH deck be 100% unproxied once I get my hands on a Watery Grave.

If Total War is in the title because Creative Assembly (or whoever makes the Total War series) worked on it; I'll buy it. Those games are actually amazing.

DF General Discussion / Re: This game needs a tag line

Maybe I'm an old fuddy duddy, but I think our 'motto' works just fine as our tag line. It's snappy enough for me.

« on: December 31, 2012, 11:37:58 am »CAUSE BADGERS DONT CARE
Why does 80% of he dwarf population insist on hauling items when all of the workshops are filled with orders
Because you didn't turn off the hauling labor for them.

Why do

I still don't see how people keep talking about this in connection with the mayans; at this point, it's just a really stupid cultural fad.
But, if we're speculating, I'm going to with a Nyancat Invasion from outerspace. Remember all that harmless Nyaning you guys have done? That was really the signal for the rest of the real ones to invade. With rainbow farts.

« on: December 12, 2012, 04:39:58 pm »We do not need any more bosses.
Well, we don't need any more late/end-game bosses, but we could use some regular ones. You know, powerful mooks that exist at the end of a dungeon to provide some more challenge/fun. One-off characters that have a couple lines of dialogue beforedying horriblyattacking the party. Those kinds of things.
I wouldn't mind filling one of those roles.

Bah, totally misread the post above mine as indicating there were slots for bosses too.

Generic NPC slot totally works.

Sounds a bit like a game I've stumbled across recently, can't remember the name exactly. But this sounds like a fun idea. I'm interested in seeing where this goes.
