Easy. Change the skill to one of the vanilla ones. Knife user to sword. Mining to, say, hammer. Make a separate entry for your weaponized pick if you plan on playing fortress mode, or else you'll have a legendary hammerer capable of knocking down not only the toughest of rocks but the toughest of trolls. :P

EDIT: Two entries in both the entity_default and the item_weapon files, that is, one for the digger version with mining skill and one for the weaponized one with its own skill.

Night creatures themselves are actually genned, so you'll have to have a megabeast with the 'spouse converter' token. But as Lancensis said, there's no syndrome for it; it'll all be in world gen.

I purposely gutted nobles for this release, keeping book-keeper and broker specifically for their functions. I was thinking of patching in the dungeon master and mayor for a v0.1.1c, and any other suggestions you have for putting nobles back in. I think my original intentions were to stop the annoyances of a Hammerer going around and killing legendary masons because of an oversight and silly nobles demanding the most ludicrous objects that, at the moment thanks to the research system, Forerunners might not be able to make on time if at all.

However, I'll point out the fact I really view and intended the Forerunners to be more of a hive-mind type deal, modeled after the Collectors in ME2 or the Buggers in the Enderverse, just with a bit more free will.

So I'll see about patching in some more nobles for gameplay sake. Like I said, I'm hardly an avid Fortress-mode person. :P

 Longfin Mako Shark!!

 The game had stopped me to inform me that I was being attacked by a beached shark. I'm going to go slice it up now.

Be careful, I've learned the hard way from the Arena; even a beached mako shark can one-shot your legendary wrestler dorf. :P

This sounds so incredibly narrow minded to me Oo...
Let them dorfs choose what they want to wear - if it's dresses for the males and just a thong for the females - so be it.
Let the game generate those preferences

If you're referring to the OP, than remember the whole point was for modding, in which case I hardly mean dwarves and I certainly want to specify which caste wheres what.

Since gender IS defined by castes and so on, 'caste-specific' clothing opens up even more possibilities; a priest caste that wears only robes, a warrior caste that will only wear jerkins and breastplates, and a laborer caste that will wear tunics and work gloves.

Err, if there's a down staircase BELOW him (z-level wise) and he's stuck on an up/down, then of course he can't move; you need an up staircase below the up/down, or else another up/down. And make sure they're both staircases; not sure if that'd effect it, but it likely might if one was ramp and the other stairs..

I'm also fairly certain it also affects your starting reputation as well, so you can recruit more followers, but not 100% sure. Of course, I know that's also affected by one social skill or another, can't remember which one.

Ok so if i grab there weapon I go into 'I'nventory and than use it

What if i sneak and knock someone out from behind, will they know it was me :D

What other special attacks, as in aim for this body part; or wrestle this body part?  and differences between upper and lower arm/leg

Now I broke his arm!!! muahaha, wrestlers are waaaay legit :D  Also i grabbed his cuts that were hanging out from my silver short sword; but was unable to do anything with them =/  be awsome if i could rip them out and watch him collapse.  Ok so I bit his guts and shook them around, didn't seem like it did much.  Why can't i just eat his guts while they hang from his body as he is standing there alive in pain.

Edit, kicking his guts will make him get sick, and then vomit; specially when you keep kicking them :D

There is too much eflishness and so little dorfishness in this post it makes Urist want to cry. :(

But in all seriousness, I can't think of anything that hasn't really been mentioned up to this point.

I got Genesis. I have a lot of problems. 1. I can't turn the graphics off. They make the computer incredibly slow. 2. I can't make a short cut.

Try the more up to date Genesis mod; this one's out of date a good many versions.

Download the newer DF31.18-compatible ASCII Genesis if you don't want the (awesome) graphics that come with it. Genesis is on the first page of the mod forum, almost always, and there's a link for Genesis w/ Graphics and Genesis w/ASCII (normal DF) in there.

Not so sure about the other suggestions (I really don't think that having baby snatcher/item thief tokens causes automatic war, and I don't know if being incomprehensible really ticks off any races in particular), but giving them an ethic with 'acceptable' while all others having 'unthinkable' or 'appalling' will cause all the other races to be much more likely hostile towards them in world gen.

If you grab clothing and weapons with one of your free hands, you can 'I' -> gain possession. :P

Just know, people tend to be slightly fond of their clothing and weapons, so successfully taking/removing said items won't always be easy... unless they're unconscious. ;)

EDIT: Oh, also with a free hand, you can 'pinch'. Doesn't usually do much unless you've got a high strength and are grabbing a somewhat small appendage, or so I've at least figured out. Pinching out teeth, for example, is somewhat possible. Just not feasible.

My hunch was right, gutting the positions did indeed take out the option to have a military. Should've paid more attention to positions when I was looking at them. It's what I get for basing the tokens off of those silly little Elves and Humans out of the vanilla raws. :P

Also, fixed a problem that was annoying me. You can now properly equip a fauld with a cuisse; Kajiwi-made armor.

I play vanilla, most definitely, it's fairly fun. Never touched any third part programs for actual play, just modding ease.

As for your ideas: only way I can fathom getting non-dwarf immigrants is by making said non-dwarves into separate castes of the dwarf creature entry. As for guns, no real proper guns, but some mods try anyway to some effect like wasteland or my own. As for orcs, perfectly possible.

I can't seem to start a military in fortress mode. I press m, goes to the military screen, positions to be specific, and there's just no button I can press to make a new squad.  ???

Not sure if this was a bug or if I was just missing something.

I'll check it out. Fortress mode isn't really the focus of the mod, and since I didn't mess with the military any to my knowledge, I didn't think to make sure that wasn't bugged. It might have to do with my taking out all but two positions? Not really sure what that could affect, so I'll start there. I should have an idea of what's causing it by today's end.

Thanks for trying out the mod, and sorry about that inconvenience. :P
