Well, it is a well-known saying here in Belgium. Not used that often, but almost everyone knows it. And those that don't can quickly deduce the meaning. A quick Google gives quite a few results for most English-speaking countries so I'm pretty sure it's not very regional.
Of course, that doesn't mean there aren't parts of the world where nobody has heard of it before, possibly non-Christian cultures or just random spots where no one uses the saying, or has a different saying for the same thing.

In blocky news: Has anyone managed to legitimately slay the Ender dragon yet? I guess you'd need heavily enchanted gear to stand a chance, or at least a lot of people.  And perhaps have converted the stronghold around the portal into a proper base.

Those 'dungeon bosses' usually Shout either Unrelenting Force or the Shout you'll find on the wall, I think.   I remember getting Disarmed in the same dungeon I learned the disarm Shout.

Yup, very useful on most magic-using enemies. It usually renders them completely powerless.  Alternatives are shock magic which drains magicka as a side effect, or the plentiful "Damage Magicka" poisons you can lace your weapons with.

"Pearls before swine" is hardly an obscure saying, knowing the origin is just a small step away.  Even smaller if you have an entire website devoted to converting teens.

I honestly can't tell whether this is a parody or not. The main site it's hosted on seems legit, but at the same time crazy enough to be a parody too.
The bit about Twitter and "Christianchirp" seems a bit over the top, but apparently it actually exists so... Yeah.

Eloraam seems pretty nice, she makes the Redpower mod.

I can't wait for the next Redpower update, personally.  Once the automatic crafting table is in Minecraft will be a perfect game for me.

I'd get this if I had room to play it; Only playing GC games on my Wii right now. (You do have to stand up to play right?)

My bum is sore from sitting down all weekend to play Skyward Sword. So no, no need to stand up. The only room you need other than some space between you and the screen is a way to stretch your arm down to make bowling bombs a little easier.  But even that is optional, just makes it easier to get some spin.

Anyone tried tossing those cat things off the island? They're adorable during the day.

I love the adventure pouch system, where you can pick which items to bring along on your adventure. So far I carry my shield, a treasure medal, a life medal, some extra bombs bags and a bottle.  There are lots of secrets to discover too, such as the symbols you can draw on certain walls to get items.  Drawing a heart gets me more hearts, but this one time I got a load of bombs and I have no clue how I did it, I just slipped trying to draw a heart.

What makes me sad is the lack of a proper overworld, though.  The surface areas are all connected by the sky, but the sky is just a collection of loose islands with one town. It makes the surface areas feel more like pre-dungeons or something.  You'll be revisiting them often though, and the enemies in areas you've been to before get tougher as the story progresses.

DOSBox has this nifty little feature where you can simply drag any program you'd like it to run onto the .exe or a shortcut to it and it'll do all the mounting for you.  I used to get confused too until I discovered that.

I think it's safe to assume that Minecraft uses the terms 'Alpha' and 'Beta' rather loosely.  According to the definitions on the Wikipedia page it just left Alpha and entered a sort of open Beta stage.

Only grass, vines and leaves change with every biome, the dark swamp water is an exception and it looks horrible at the edges.

There were some proper biome water mods for the earlier versions of Minecraft, once they are updated to 1.0 you can use those.

Sure you were undetected even after shooting the yak?  NPCs that see someone getting shot tend to look in the direction the arrow came from.  I've killed plenty of people in the middle of the city without being spotted.

Perhaps domestic animals are a different story, but guards most certainly aren't psychic when it comes to murder, pickpocketing or stealing.

You need more Sneak skill.  I take out bandits one at a time all the time.  Sneak up, stab, hide until his friends stop looking for me, sneak up again, stab, rinse, repeat.   Even if the stab doesn't kill them, I just hide until I can stab them a second time.

I keep in shape by randomly killing town guards that wander into alleys.
