Hardcore permanent skills are usable in softcore as well.  Softcore permanent skills become available in Hardcore after freeing King Ralph, though you cannot turn them into Hardcore Permanents unless you bought them during the run.
So you can perm Shieldbutt in softcore, do a new hardcore run as a pastamancer and get access to shieldbutt after freeing the King.
But if you softcore perm Shieldbutt and then do a Hardcore ascension as a Turtle tamer, you can only hardcore perm shieldbutt if you bought it before freeing the King in that run.

Ooh, neat.  Only one million?  I should consider selling a Mr. Awesome for one.

11 Ascensions and counting, I think have the basic cooking skills under my belt. ;)
I haven't ascended once as an Accordion Thief, though.  I'm only now starting to get used to buffing myself.  I've never really been much of a buffer in any game, though I noticed that's been changing lately.

So you're saying nobody should buy pineal glands because there'll be more once everyone bought enough of them?  How fiendishly clever! ;)

I managed to ascend as a Pastamancer, finally have Entangling Noodles!  They're already proving very useful for my Turtle Tamer.
I think I'm gonna focus on skills that benefit Saucerors, though.  I really like being a Sauceror.

The Exotic Masseuse gives only 15 extra adventures for each clan member each day.  Infinite adventures would break the whole game.

3 adventures, of course.
Adventures are the most precious commodity in the Kingdom there is, and you can only buy so much of it.  A full stomach is a full stomach no matter how rich you are.
The potted meat tree is fine, although it does replace the muscle training thingy.  Apparently clan equipment gives the best stat gains per adventure at higher levels.  But few of us are anywhere near those levels so that's not a big deal.

I was wondering that, too.  Meat furniture isn't very useful, extra adventures and HP/MP recovery are way more useful.

If you want to beat her easily but don't have fancy skills or weapons yet, just go adventure in the Haunted Ballroom.
In there, you get lots of Moxie-increasing events and dance cards that, when used, cause even more moxie-events in the Ballroom.
Once your Moxie is at about 207 or something the Sorceress can't hit you anymore.

Most people do the lair and ascend as soon as they hit level 13 and have finished the last quest.
On a first ascension, you might need to be level 14 or 15 before you can beat her, depending on your class.

Personally I'd rather work towards being able to access Hobopolis.  It'll be a while before any of us are capable of doing coordinated Hobopolis runs, but it'd be fun to just have it available to screw around in.  That way we can get to know it and then attempt to get the good stuff later on.
Most of you still seem to need a lot of ascending, though.  I was surprised to see I had done the most ascensions so far.

I applied for the clan.  Name is Rhodan.
It totally doesn't have anything to do at all with the new VIP clan additions.  Honest.
(I'll chip in for a pool table if anyone's interested)

If you're quick, you can catch thrown weapons as well.  You have to fly along with the weapon a bit before it latches on, not easy when it's spinning around.

Only bugs I found were the unfinishedness near the end, the freeze bug and the shield bug.
The freeze bug was awesome, it just made your freezing weapon get infinitely cold, eventually freezing you and everything you hold dear. (as in, your other weapons)
The shield bug happened when your should would 'pull' you in one direction when locked. Quite annoying.

To do loads of damage, you can lock a gun to a sword, and use the force of the gunshot to stab your foe.

Then you have to practice more.  Once you've got a hang of the physics it gets a lot easier.
Try moving in a large, clockwise circle, then at about 1 or 2 o'clock jerk down and back, bringing your mace crashing down onto the enemy.  Once you've mastered this move things should get easier.

You can't buff people in Bad Moon, silly.
100% Black Cat run saves you lots of trouble later on, though.

I foolishly used my meat engine to make a Meat Maid body instead of a meat car, as I remembered that the head consists of a shrunken head an a maiden wig instead of smart skulls and disembodied brains that are beyond the grasp of a level 5 Adventurer.

Meat maid head is smart skull + brains +wig, you can untinker the body to get your meat engine back though.
