My continuous quest for data density and obscurity has led me to a decently/mostly accurate Cyrillic tileset that follows ISO-9 translation for a english cyrillic phonetic, mostly. Obviously there's no subsitute for W or Q except outside of slavic Cyrillic where they appear to look/sound exactly the same I believe anyways. Some things are a little off because there's no place to put some letters like Ч or Ш and etc, and instead you get things like ХЦ instead of Ch which isn't really accurate. Either way though, it gives you a new matrix effect for those who are already too used to ASCII and want something even more obscure to bedazzle those around you. Here's some previews:




and yes this is plugged into a copy of the grim fortress tiles in these previews, I'm only using that as a 10x12 size framework for this version. I think I'll make a nice 8x8 version off of the actual CP866 tiles too.

I guess it will work in fort mode, but the civ will die out in worldgen. And the new copies (I assume you would use spawnunit) could not be used for nobles or military.

It would effectively be a 'female' to fix those matters, but not really at all. The births will work like children who grow up real fast.

Does this mean same-sex marriage is finally coming to Dwarf Fortress? Because I'd be all for that. :D

[POSITION:WARLORD] => Lacking SQUAD. Same for the Dreadlord and Battlelord... or arent they supposed to be squad leaders? And [POSITION:GODCHOSEN] exists twice.

All in all they look a lot like the dwarven ones, with more awesome names. :)

Basically just copying the human ones and giving them a better name, and making some tweaks to make things more fitting for example more tomb requirements and special burials for more people, male only in most positions, etc. Though I am thinking of making this an all 'male' race, and have two castes of males, one of them being the birthing caste by shearing pieces of their soul into a new copy or something. In terms of the battle lords, they're copied from the General/lieutenant/captain ranks of humans, and they didn't have troops. I'm pretty sure they're not on site positions, but rather appear in legends only. The copy at the end is I just didn't finish the second one before deciding to take a break. That's going to be a god warrior or something.

I planned on Warlocks as main civ-creature that interact with demons, but at a low number. The rest are skeletons, dumb civ members for simple tasks.  :-\ So all menial labor is done by undeads.

That doesn't sound as conflicting then, that sounds like it will be a different branch of such things, where as iteru ones are more guardians or giant war beasts, things like that.

Just going to say that the Iteru are going to be decently necromantic, so there might be differences but yeah you might want to go the demonology route for them instead of necromantic stuff.

Work so far today, added most if not all of the weapons, might make a few more, but that's enough for now I believe. Starting to work on armor now and will continue to move on after that. These items have been added to the entity as well.

Weapons:
Usage of Spear, Scimitar, Knuckle Duster, Scourge, Bow, Composite Bow, Club, Spade, Claws, Tomahawks, Whip Chain, Dadao, Kama, Jambiya, Throwing Spears as well as the custom created weapons:

-Asaph Blade, a special iteru sacrificial blade.
-Osir Blade, a massive war sword for ushabti or anything hulk enough to wield them.
-Iterian Khopesh, a desert themed blade with an almost sickle like curve.
-Grim Khopesh, similar to their cousin, just bigger, shortsword-longsword style.
-Iterian Khukuri, A khukuri special to the Iterians.
-Iterian Machete, A machete special to the Iterians.
-Iterian Scythe, A scythe special to the Iterians.
-War Axe, A half body length axe with a viciously shaped blade.
-Long Axe, A full body lengthed version of the war axe.
-Tempest, A brutal one handed mace, made of an angular head instead of a round ball.
-Iterian Halberd, A halberd special to the Iterians.
-Iterian Glaive, A Glaive special to the Iterians
-Throwing Sticks, A stick/rod made of wood-stone-metal that is thrown at enemies in a somewhat close range attack.
-Iterian Sling, A sling used by iterians to shoot shaped projectiles made out of stone or metal.
-Tanabo, A two handed wooden mace full of metallic round knobs.
-Sun Ring, A circular ring blade that is one handed.
-War Glaive, Two handed wide blade
-Claws of Djaf, Jackal Claws

Armor: Usage of mail and platemail as well as the following created:

I have no idea what's going on, now it won't sync, and I'm not sure if it was ever pulling from the master. Gonna try reforking and resetting up the push/pull streams.

Alright I think I got it working now, I'll just have to stick with the terminal instead of the GUI to push/pull properly.

I have got little problem, how the hell you select which race you wanna embark with on newest version ? Like what the hell I enabled cutebolsd orcs and dwarfs to be generated on one world,  I checked worlds and they are all ther but I am unable to anyhow select it in them in embark mode, I can only choose dwarfs. And when I try deselect dwarfs and orcs in settings so I can play as kobolds nothing happens...

It's a pain in the ass with any mod that has multiple playable races selected at once. When on the embark screen if selecting a civ you gotta select the one that is the race you want to play. There's not really a way of telling which is which afaik. Also these settings are gened into the raws, you will have to gen a new world to do the kobolds only thing.

If you tab through to the screen that shows you neighboring civs the one at the very top of the list is yours.

So obviously I'm working on Iteru, almost fully done with class and computer access a bit wonky right now, though I plan on getting a large amount of things done this week, maybe even a somewhat playable state. I also have some other non human based ideas for races but It would be wiser to finish Iteru enough first. I'll have a better idea this week of stuff I might need help with.
