You'd think that they would give up everything and get out of that hell through those tunnels right?
Nope stay in the crossfire between the partisans smuggling decomisioned russian rockets and hi-tech faux WW2 germany.

And the worst thing ot it all is the fact there is pretty much nothing you can do regarding peace talks because Israel will shoot them all down anyway... and shooting seems the only way to deal with muslims when your countrly in a situation like Israel (surrounded by muslim countries that hate your balls and everything else connected to them).

The Gaza Strip is probably the saddest place on earth overtaken maybe only by some failed african countries where hordes of rebels (fighting against other rebels and whatever goverment might rise in the meantime) terrorizing raping and killing everyone they come across.

Since i'm not willing to plow through the entire thread to check if the opionion i want to voice was already covered by someone else i feel no responsibility what-so-ever in the likely event i'm doubling someone else.

My Little Pony vs Littlest Pet Shop

MLP are most know became a smash hit way beyopn the wildest expectations of its authors and owners.
Now that S3 is starting and seems to barely loose any steam (if not gaining it).
Hasbro of coursse is cashing in on the succes with figurines and adds on HUB and seems to try repeating the succes.
First the reboot of carebears that was mostly a flop (tho some say it did gain it's own fans).
And now LPS was taken for a spin but this time it seems to be almost completely tailored to make people already watching MLP watch LPS as well.

1 - LPS episodes start right after MLP.
2 - Some characters seem to be expies of the "Mane 6" with extra credit for Zoe Trent for sharing an identical color sheme (down to the stripe) with Twilight Sparkle AND being voiced by Tara Strong (again like Twilight Sparkle) (Correstion Zoe is voiced by Nicole Oliver... who did the voice for Cheerilee and Celestia) AND being given the similar role of being a prominent character (again like Twilight Sparkle) along with several other characters also voiced by VAs who work on MLP:FiM.
3 - Hired some of the same writers.
4 - Some adds for LPS are full of pony.
5 - It will most likely retain the same character driven one episode long storylines (Not unlike MLP)

Am i the only person thinking Hasbro just desperately tries to make thunder strike the same spot 2 times?

Well Civilization 2 Test of time has a (among others) a sci fi setting that basically is a Alpha Centauri 0.5.

I wouldn't say the maze in qfg 1 was all that bad. It was somewhat small and had many safe spots.
Eranas garden to the north and Hermit Enry to the south.
And the town in the middle.
On top of that the only immediately lethal place was the graveyard and that's only if you stumble there in the night without a potion.
Now the desert in Q2... it could screw with your head by changing directions (especially hurts during the day because you can't watch the stars) and there are no safe spots out there to refill your waterskins besides one pretty hard to find oasis (if you got lost).
And the "rotating" world directions can make you walk south when you want to go north.

The desert in G2 can be pretty darn lethal.

Damn... i knew i should lurk on 4chan like a true basement dweller instead of getting second hand info.

What's the new rage then?
Thinking the Homestuck fandom is weird (at least on some parts of tumblr).
Tumblr is kinda awful. Like the majority of it.
See, there's another thing it's hip to hate.  :P

Gee thanks.
I found new purpouse in life.
And i have to make a fursona for myself too i guess.

The said states are often elected so in theory it's the faulf of it's citzens for electing tjhose politicians and not others
(of course this is bull because they do whatever they want once they win).

Without any strong source of multinational law those things will just happen because the person who put the "evil deed(s)" in motion is usually left untouched.
Stalin did a ton of things that would be widely accepted as evil  but suprise he died without taking retribution for any of it.
It's not the countries fault but a certain person fulfiling a certain position in its goverment.

A friend of mine sent me a link to a youtube video.

Apparently there was a "furwalk" in my town.
Furries in my god fearing town...

Now everyone i meet could be one of them.
Hate to break it to you but hating furries is no longer chique bro. You're dangerously out of style there.
Wait... WHAT?
When did that happen?

People point that out not because they think the fact someone else did "IT" gives them the moral right to do the same thing.
They just point out the hypocrisy and "holier than you" attitude of some co called "defenders of human rights" who automatically stop giving two flying bucks about human rights if the benefits them in the slightest.

Hypocrisy doesn't change the fact that the bad shit still happened. Furthermore, we can judge countries without representing our own.

Yeah but noone is going to take criticism to heart from someone who did the same darn thing and suffered no lasting consequences as a result.

Sure it's bad but... hey let's launch those white phosphor bombs at this nursery and see what happens.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

As for Israel and the Middle East

The tropical Jews will turn the middle east into a glowing crater sooner or later so civilized countries should find ways of becoming independant from middle eastern oil sooner than later.

Plainly said... it's a clusterfuck almost noone really understands anymore.
At least i don't understand what the hell is happening.

Last things i knew was Palestine picking fights with Israel and always meeting with inapropriate levels of retribution and Iran fooling around with atomic bombs (and Israel assuring everyone that it's in the worlds best interests to make them blow up in their faces).

Oh well guess it's time for another major war in the ME... anything new?

Total Air War (F22) - Somewhat decent simulator that has a dynamic campaign. The action takes place in the middle east. You are limited to using a F22.

Mig Alley - Game takes place during the war in Korea where the godlike american sabres take on those dirty russian migs. (if you're looking for dogrighting rather than launchinging missiles from 7 miles away and spamming flares and chaffs then this is for you).

Dogfight: Battle in the skies - A somewhat old 2D freeware game... pretty arcady (but you can stall ETC) but the author put a lot of detail into planes (and made a ton of them) from ye olde biplanes to TIE Defenders. Availble in both german and english.

IIRC, revenues increased more slowly than the expenditures.

I'm not entirely sure, but I seem to remember outdated trains/vehicles having really high running costs compared to their modern counterparts. So, if you don't upgrade your vehicles at all during the course of a really long game, you will take a big hit to your profits.

I usually play with lots of different mods, so maybe it's different in the vanilla game.

Well it makes sense. Noone makes replacement parts and only a handfull od enhusiasts know how to repair 70 year old steam engines so keeping them in shape would obviously require a ton of expenditures.

Other Games / Re: Games like KoDP
« on: November 13, 2012, 09:15:09 pm »
I have often wondered at the lack of any spiritual successor to KoDP, enough so that in the past I toyed with the idea of trying to make one, being more of an artist and writer than a programmer. Never did it of course.

Then recently I got the idea of making a game based upon the player interacting with NPCs that had complex personalities, something maybe like a political simulation or maybe having more to do with the intrigue around a royal court. The whole thing would be text based, graphics if done at all would be for flavor only.

I searched for the best engine for this type of thing a d came up with the best candidate: Ren'Py. Upon closer inspection, creating a game similar to KoDP with Ren'Py would be quite simple in terms of coding. The significant work would be the writing, art and of course the logic behind the branching nature of events. There is even a dating sm framework for ren'py that looks like it would be easy to convert into the personality and event handling for the game.

Most, if not all of the game could be handled with Ren'Py and for anything else it has full access to python and pygame.

Dwarf Fortress spinoff anyone using story events written/drawn by forum members?  I would scream with glee if that happened.

Do it.
DO IT NOW.
No seriously people would flood you with stories.
And just like in KoDP there would be no good answers because every option would lead to PAIN.
