Well the closest thing i can think of would be Lords of the realm (changing seasons harvesting cropsand the like).
And maybe Defender of the Crown but that's a huge streatch.

Played the demo.
Used lightest ship and crammed 4 50 mm guns on it.
Proceeded to kill bots because there was no serwer with playable lag AND players.

Then again i didn't get to the point i could edit any ship in meaningful/cool ways

My best bet would be a scrimsh game with AI players in games like "Submarine Titans", "Act of War"... or spectating a game on the "spring engine" like NOTA, CA or other mod (not exacly 0 player but you don't have to do a thing AND you can make your own games and unleash AIs on each other).

Other RTS games might work too but they might lack of a way of spectating bot matches.

From what i remember inflation increases the running/building costs but also increases income by the similar (if not same) ammount... unless the costs rise a bit faster than income in whitch case the game turns into a DF no win scenario.

Played OTTD and liked it but imo Railroad Tycoon 2-3 did better at modelling a economy.
AND you could influence it by buying out farms/factories as well as creating your own (factories only for balancing reasons).

I really loved shippping raw materials from MY farm/mine to MY production building and then shipping the final goods to wherever they were needed.

Also i think Simutrans is a bit more... hmm... built up compared to OTTD... but it's also a whole lot uglier and harder to get a grip on.

Well i checked what wikipedia has to say about interwar-WW2 polish tanks.
Actually there would be a fair ammount of polish tanks there if you count prototypes (there is even one heavy tank prototype) that might serve up to T5 or even 6.

2842
Well i did hear Japan is supposed to have some fast tanks and tanks with oversized guns that were supposed to be used as coastal antiship artilery.

As for nations that got smashed by Germany in the first year...

Imo they should integrate the tanks into already existing nations.

For example the various polish tankettes and light tanks (the ones with proper guns) could be integrated into the Soviet tree on the same premise the chinise variant of a certain matchmaking abomination is present.
Also 7TPjw seems to be one of the better tanks of the early war and could be thrown into the british low tier tree once it gets there.

Damn... i wish Metal Fatigue had this combat system.

It's... wonderful.

@Flying Dice
I'd use AC-IN instead purely because of the continuing flames, plus, if the mission was at night, you'd see a hell of a lot further and could snipe at anything, especially if a couple of your guys had any acuracy to speak of.
It was a strategy I took into TFTD and Apoxylips, always bought up every incendiary round available; rockets; bullets; 'nades, whatever.

Hah i also always ended up without IC ammo in apoc. All my men had to have at least one Diablo Nade.
Hell i even gave two autocannons to androids so thay can akimbo them.
And yet the entire gang couldn't make more than 10 grenades a week.

As for the new game...

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Remember back in the original? When, if you saw a single Chryssalid on the map, you'd begin murdering every civilian on sight before they could be zombified?

Same thing now, except the mercy killings happen with high explosives instead of laser fire.

Murdering civvies gave a TON of negative points it's far better to stun them instead.
Besides if you see snakemen on a terror site you already know there is at least one of those angsty little buggers skittering around.

The narrow corridor problem was partially solved by shield overloading (you could destroy consoles 1 and 2 by shooting AT weapons on shields that close the way to consoles 3 and 4).

Also i don't remember lagging to hell... i did have framerate drops tho but that's only when all 64 players sat on the titan attacking/defending by grenade spamming while the titan slowly goes to hell anyway because noone cares about caping the silos.

If it were free on Steam or GoG, or XBox Live, then I'd consider downloading... wait... Battlefied? What is this Battlefied of which you speak? Fie!

Anyways, I won't touch Origin. I even go so far as to only play Origin-only games on XBox 360 to avoid having to install it, and EA DRM games as well for the most part.

And you did a wise choice.
Installing and getting BF2142 to work was a royal pain. It required 3 non automatic patches (you could TRY installing them on auto but it wouldn't work) installed in the RIGHT order (it would let you install them in the wrong order but the game wouldn't run afterwards and you'd have to reinstall the game to try again).

And to top it off after several months of hiatus i decided to have a break... and forgot the password.
No problem you say?
Well the password recovery e-mail that i requested NEVER came.

So yeah...

Well the official Xpac Fire and Sword has guns.
Blood And steel has guns... but them od itself is kinda... umm... "special" (especially the cannons and spawning undead legions).
Then there was Timeless Kingdoms for native (cool setting but the mod was discontinued).

Hmm... well UT 2004 got a new life when it hit steam so i don't see any reason BF 1942 shouldn't.

And Orign is pretty much a eviler version of steam... NOTHING CAN GO WRONG.
