I think the current Pope looks like Emperor Palpatine.  ;D

It's true!

Mod elves so they drop logs instead of corpses. Two birds, one stone.

While that could be seen as themeatically appropriate(How? I dunno - maybe they're trees that a werewolf used as a urinal), it doesn't really result in a meaningful quantity of wood being delivered - certainly not compared with, say, a full load of featherwood.

Elves dropping masterwork wooden statues when they die would be pretty funny, tho.

Besides, the proper response to Grammar Nazis is to claim you are not speaking English, but [your name here], which is a closely related, yet distinct language of it's own - as it's an easy mistake to make, you're not going to hold it against them, but they really should know better.

(Disclaimer: I take no responsibility for lynchings you may suffer upon following the above advice.)

"stone raisins"

You don't want to use that one - it sounds like petrified rodent droppings.  ;D

I was thinking more along the lines of THIS.

<IMGsnip>

We are promised that this sort of thing will be fixed in the next release, but we won't be around to see it, so whether it matters is largely academic.

At first I thought that was a photoshop, but then I actually looked at the arrangement and saw how it worked. And then I did it myself.

Bug confirmed, it's reproducible.  8)

Also, check their profiles and give them items and materials they like. A tiny hole in the dirt with a bed and a copper chain is like a personal palace for a dwarf that likes copper, for example.

lignite can be used for a virtually infinite loop for furnaces, as long as you can keep mining it and you don't accidentally use it all up. Remember that a smelted lignite can be used to smelt more lignite.

Just task a make coke job or two befor every smelter job, and forbid a few coke to restart the cycle if it breaks.

Aye, it's mostly about the developer and what they can get out of the system, tho a high end PC will usually come out on top(and with games like Supreme Commander, more computer power actually mades the AI smarter)

And I refuse to belive you spent $1700 on a computer just last year that's inferrior to the PS3, unless you wasted your money or sank it into extras.

I've seen people call baseless speculation spoiler material on these boards, so it's certainly not just you. :p

*Gloveslap*

Let us discuss the conditions of the duel, then.

Might I suggest Doomsday Levers at Dawn?

Well, also you need to make a stockpile near his (not fo short swords) or he would use only nearest stones (Z level also counts).

Or he could use This mod - it adds a reaction that doesn't do anything, but makes all stone economic, so you can toggle the use of any and every stone type on or off in the Z->Stone menu.

It is, in my not so humble opinion, the best mod I have ever seen.

Ah, ok, so his wife used hers in the dragon fight, leaving the Captain as the only one with a spare.

Gah! Spoiler everything!!
I want to have a chance at being right.

Yet more proof these forums have an irrational obsession with spoiler tags.

All he's doing is clarifying what he was trying to convey in light of fan speculation being a little off in it's interpretation of past events.

Let him look through the wiki, maybe read a story or two, then embark in a nice safe area to get a grip of the basic mechanics - soil farming, brewing, mining, and basic static defences.

Also, remember that the stocks screen has two list modes, toggled by TAB.

Nah, you just didn't have any beds for him to be carried to, and his wounds weren't severe enough to make him fall unconscious.
The water is only a requirement when they can't get up to go to the booze stockpile, it has nothing whatsoever to do with the healing at all.

Because dwarves won't carry beer for other dwarves, they'll just drink it themselves!

Does that mean you can save injured dwarves on a no-water map by insuring there aren't any beds avalible?

I generally have a walled outdoor courtyard(protects dancing dwarves when I tell them to stay indoors) with my meeting area in it.

Doesn't totally prevent vomet, tho. But that's probably dwarves doing jobs set to (R) in the bowels of the fort, like smelting.
