I don't think now is any less judgmental than then, you're just less likely to encounter someone who has indulged in gossiping about you in meatspace because the world is so much "bigger" now.

Life Advice / Re: Fuck you Microsoft
« on: September 24, 2016, 10:04:20 am »
My fuck Microsoft moment is the fact that since the latest major update my laptop installed I can't turn off Cortana.

They literally REMOVED the button to turn off a program that I feel is a breach of my privacy.

Sure you can turn off a lot of things in the privacy settings, but it is still communicating with Microsoft.

 >:(

I go that extra step and block it with Windows Firewall.

Don't rightly know if it does anything beyond not let it search 't internet, but if I'm going to be forced to have something that is among the most memory heavy tasks be on all the time, I'm going to be pissed off about it.

You won't have any teeth left, but that's not my problem.

They made a societal obligation that they profit from.

That depends on the therapist, really. I've only been to two, one of which was super bubbly and the other of which was very... matronly (both ladies)

I would've thought given those descriptions I'd have had more success with the latter, but the former was pretty good at not only describing what the therapies they were using were s'posed to do, but actually getting me to do them and have them stick in my head.

Anyhow, the relationship between a therapist and a client is important, but even just going to see your GP and getting a referral could help. I imagine this stuff is freaking you out, so at the very least they'll be able to explain what's happening and what you might be able to do about it.

'Tis something to see a pro about if possible, most definitely.

Sounds more like dissociation... something or other, can't remember the details.

But it also sounds like what happens to me when I go for a long time on not a lot of sleep. Do you sleep well?

When I say long time I mean weeks when I sleep for fewer than 6 hours per night/sleep cycle.

Hey man, what are you, the happiness police?

Huh—I'm town, but I don't have another option. Hmm...

I am very much against no-lynching, in the current context.

So we've got a few hours left in the day (2.5, specifically) and nothing is being done. Bothersome.

My choices for lynching today would be FoU for what I laid out here or EP, as he seems to be the odd-one-out regarding having a little bit of an extra wincon, plus the bounce from RVS to what could be him revealing my role on D1.

In that order. I'd need a little extra convincing from someone to go after EP.

He's most likely a neutral, perhaps a jester, though that doesn't explain his claimed ability, so I think I can rule that particular one out.

It doesn't make sense, unfortunately. Why would a member of the town win without the rest of the town?

Your ability sounds like a town weakness, maybe investigative (maybe both) but that second wincon... even if you stay in the game, you have no reason to help anyone else win. In terms of meta, you want the fewest people to get VPs, so helping the scum would be to your benefit in that instance.

I don't like that.

But why, as town, would you remain in the game after you (and you very specifically mentioned only yourself) won? That would be silly.

Huh. Apparently, when I win, I'll stay in until the round ends. Didn't expect that. Thought I would be removed when I won. Hm.
