Also, if you can become narcissistic for a phase or two, I find it really helps with not caring what other people think about you.
Why not just not care in the first place? It makes you a better person, imo.
In what capacity?

How many times do I need to tell people that this is fake?
You're fake too Neo :P

My actual point here, though, is that you have about as much proof that Old Man Henderson is a hoax as I do that you aren't someone else's alt.

No, I have quite a bit more evidence then that. I actually have read the rules and the lore :P

I'm going to say I don't think TBF is scum basically because he's being too honest, its his first bastard game so he's focusing on things that don't matter yet when he shouldn't.

I think the more pressing issue here is Tiruin.  She is super hard to get a read on and should be on everyone's mind, even if she appears town.

So Tiruin lets say you need to get FoU lynched because some night action told you they were scum, how would you do it?

Why Tiruin specifically?

TDS is also hard to read. Griffinpup hasn't posted, you can't read someone who isn't there. BHK and Teneb haven't posted (according to Lurker Tracker) for close to two days. Do these people not matter?

I'm afraid I have to disagree with you guys.

There's no way a Cinder can be cool.

It can only be hot.

Not that our Cinder is a stone with two holes in it. That would be silly.

Being yourself only works if you're heterosexual.

Fack off san, that's discrimination.

To be honest, the only reason I read the next book after the Colour of Magic was because I'd already read better Pratchetts and had faith in the author.
Same.
Started with Jingo at age 10, couldn't.
Jumped back in at 14 with fifth elephant and suddenly loved it, and Jingo.

Jingo is the awesome.

I had the same experience with Pratchett really. Tried reading Equal Rites a handful of times as a youth and couldn't do it. Now I have most of the books.

I mean, I'm all for triggering people who twist language to serve an agenda, but this ain't that. The usage fits and carries a positive effect to boot.

We're all surviving this pointless argument, incidentally.

How dare you tell me my efforts are pointless, you big bag of ruminant fecal matter! I am so triggered right now I may have to report.

hector: Why?

How do you know we're the only two that matter, what's your proof?

Because you two are the most suspicious to me, and in games with eleven players it's usual to have two scum. I like to form opinions (more gut feelings) quickly in mafia, the quicker to confirm or reject them. Proof (at least of the concrete variety I feel you want) is difficult to come by in Mafia, and when we're in a situation in which proof - even of the transient variety - is sparse, gut feeling is all I got (or gut, hoho)

Flavour is not important on D1. If you knew 100% of the flavour of this game right now, how would it inform your vote? It wouldn't, because there's nothing against which you can compare.

I basically think you're wasting time, and we don't need that. You've asked about flavour for almost half of your D1. I have great disdain for that.

How do you expect to get better at scumhunting if you don't actually try to do it?

I will move my vote because I also have great disdain for nonsensical bandwagons:

FoU: How likely do you think it is the rest of us will believe that the two votes you have made were coincidental, when they were on people who already had a vote on them?

Vote number 1 - after TBF was voting for me in reply 88.

Vote number 2 - I have been voting for TBF for the entirety of my D1.

Perhaps you'd like to explain them for us, in case we get the wrong idea?

Did you move your vote because nobody else was voting for me?

Why is it a bad definition, ODub? Because you don't agree with it? :P
It's not appropriate in the context. Victim is more appropriate word to use than survivor because the situation matches the literal definition. A prescriptive approach works better when we want to be objective about what happened.
Who decides if it's appropriate in the context?

Not yet. I think that might help scum a little too much.

Well Moonlit has already given us too much, so what will it hurt?

Its just that context though.

is it how traumatic it is?
or how its not an everyday event for most
is it how it alters the psyche?

because these are all not proper use of survive...

youre saying that im making trivial, when were talking about word use :|
youre saying it feels icky or wrong to discuss the topic.

You were just provided with a definition of survivor by smirk that covers it, so I fail to see your point.

I'm not saying not to discuss it, just use a bit of tact. You were equating your commute with rape as an exemplar of how to misuse the word which, while correct for your definition, was boneheaded in the sensitivity department.

The only two that matter to me are you and Dustan, and I'm getting less interested in Dustan.

I would've had the rest of the post I made the other day up, but the room my computer is in is so ungodly humid I didn't want to spend anymore time in there than I had to.

pisskop surviving a commute to work was used as analagous to someone surviving rape. While I appreciate the argument was made re: the word "survivor", it is difficult to look past the equating of an every day event for most, with something as traumatic as rape. That was the trivializing.
