Remember, Musk wanted to back out of the deal, and instead of paying the breakup fee (which I think was $1 billion if I recall correctly) he decided to go to court, lost, and got forced to buy it for the initially promised $44 billion.

I thought that when the author wrote the book there may not exist racial discrimination 🤷‍♂️ .
lol
Um you may not understand me ,what I want to say is that the motion of blm may not be so horrible that it can effect the government and culture in the US during the previous time.
BLM as a movement only started in 2013, whereas racial discrimination basically built America and permeates everything to varying degrees. Pretty sure the last person born into slavery in the US died in the 1980s, and it’s still within living memory that laws were in place to keep non-whites down, and even now there are issues around how black history gets taught.

Folks understand that these days, though they tend to take it to the extremes (calling for banning things rather than disclaimers saying “the stuff in this doesn’t meet the standards of modern sensitivities” or some such) but the conversations around them should still be had.

Yeah, BLM have their dirty fingers in everything, now that they can time travel.

I’m pleased every time they reference a tweet on X, the BBC also say something along the lines of “the social media platform formerly known as Twitter”.

I think we had a Supernatural recently? I’d say Paranormal.

Other way round, let’s go for a Supernatural.

Since when has legislation "protecting children" ever been anything less than weaponized legislation against Women & LGBTQ?
????

https://nacac.org/advocate/key-us-child-welfare-laws/

Laws issued concerning adoption, child protection, and sex trafficking.

It seems there's a sizable body of legislation 'protecting children' which aims to... well, protect children  :P

On the other side of that coin, you have things like the moral panic on D&D in the 80s, and the moral panic of video games in the 90s and 00s. Probably a morall panic about rock and roll in the 50s and 60s.

Some legislators like to use “protecting children” to get into the headlines.

You used to be able to travel for free if you could prove an able hand. But gone are those days, and Herman Melville weeps

First, he goes off on a tangent for 20 minutes about badgers or something.

This was my exact experience with Melville. I marvelled at the technical skill and beauty of his writing while simultaneously wondering why he was writing it.

It’s also why I had to stop reading Moby Dick. I want to read about Ahab’s obsessive quest for revenge, not Melville’s musings on the colour white, or the pages and pages of what attributes whales possess that could have been equally summarized in a handful of paragraphs.

It felt like he alternated between having a chapter on the narrative and him showing off how clever he was.

The problem with those is that going off them gives you horrible insomnia, and they usually have other side-effects too.

I know Mirtazapine also can make you hungry so you tend to put on weight with that one.

Esux's new strategy - threatening litigation: https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcna97265
Thankfully, his opponent in this case seems to have the ability to fight him off.

Pretty sure he also accused them of taking money from his competitors and government entities as their motivation for attacking the company too.

If that were the case, why does he not just pay them off with a donation or two?

It took me 18 hours to travel international, starting and ending my journey at a regional airport.

It did involve flying through NY though, which is invariably torture.

I even put on safety glasses to protect me peepers (and my regular glasses).

Pro-tip: when smashing a rock with a sledgehammer, take off any rings and wear gloves to prevent minor but otherwise uncomfortable injuries to your hands.

Also, gross there are bugs in my rock.

It shouldn’t harm things to ask for clarification on the long-distance relationship thing, at least if you want to take things in that direction.
