Well, she won’t travel cross-country to meet you, but expects you to travel internationally and then cross country to meet her?

Then he can become a Resident Evil villain.

Pretty sure one of his companies wants to implant things in human brains, so he’s most of the way there anyway.

Part of it I think is social niceties. It’s impolite to say “I don’t want to see you again” so they fall back on being “nice”.

The worst week of the year just ended.  At least, I hope it is the worst week of my year.

Please dont take that as a challenge universe.

Looks like that would mean FoU and Toaster’s BYORoguelike is up next.

I think it’s more they don’t know what to do in situations like this. Ukrainian athletes have been refusing to shake hands with opponents from Belarus and Russia for a long time, when they’ve been allowed to compete against them at all, and in this instance the Ukrainian fencer announced weeks prior they wouldn’t shake hands with them either.

It didn’t come out of the blue, so organizers could and should have considered doing something about it long before the bout happened.

Edit: BBC article on the matter. The Russian opponent, at least according to an adviser to Zelensky, was pictured with a Russian soldier.

Another Ukrainian in the tournament evidently refused to fight his Russian opponent by not showing up for the start of the bout.

That’s a rule of the International Fencing Federation, the participants need to shake hands or the bout doesn’t finish, and a black card is given resulting in the DQ.

The Russian staying on the strip for an hour attempting to get the result reversed was quite the dick move though.

Well that’s the thing: it’s not Twitter anymore.

Which begs the question why he spent $44b on the Twitter brand just to dump it shortly thereafter.

I have not played that in a long while. I usually stuck with chip design and programming if I recall correctly, but I always had stealth and stealth recovery programs over anything else, though I usually got bored around level 11 stuff.

I read a BBC article about this prior to the change, and they were pretty adamant that he had said weird things before that hadn’t come to fruition.

Boy am I glad they were wrong!

Edit: oh, oh dear. I just saw the logo. It looks like a reimagining of Phineas Gage’s tamping rod after it landed.

I didn’t know you could side with the minutemen but I also try to avoid Preston like the plague.

I sided with the Institue and had some trouble with the final mission so just tanked all my PsychoJet, so the character was shouting “FUCKIN’ KILL” quite frequently.

It looks nonsensical when you're eyeballing whatever's being charged on your end,

If it really was some chatgdp derivative that just pulled random numbers out of its recycling bin, it would not surprise me.

See that’s the thing though; if it does have to go through software to come to a decision first, surely there are (at least!) a set of human eyes and brain that have to read the decision the computer made versus what it decided against, or just what the initial query was even, and that person (or persons) then have to communicate that further down the chain and then finally to the pharmacy?

I get they might be low on the totem, but that doesn’t mean they lack thinking capacity.

… they won’t pay for 28 medicines, but they will pay for 30 medicines?

Like… how does that even get to that point?

FTL: we will take your engineer so you lose dodge points from his expertise!

Me: so what you gave me another guy who can do engineering earlier I’ll just use him.

FTL: have an event that reduces your engines to one point of power, then. Oh and an enemy ship that has three layers of shields and three weapons.

Me:

Had big guns, and put the remainder of my upgrades into the engine, so had one layer of shields, which didn’t even matter since I was getting missiles shot up my bum which bypasses shields anyway. This game is very fickle sometimes. It’ll give you enemies that you can wipe the floor with immediately followed up by an enemy who wipes the floor with you, and the very occasional but oddly amusing enemy that can’t shoot through your shields but you can’t shoot through theirs either.
