you people should keep in mind that the world is changing. The west is less than 20% of the world population, much of the rest of the world doesn't align with its values and liberal democracy is what trending there.

Some might naively believe that USA companies can exploits its digital monopoly to force their values on the rest of the world in a paternalistic neocolonialist fashion, but the rest of the world keep telling it has options. Most recently, Biden in wink to his more progressive wing vowed to Saudi Arabia a pariah state, and USA was made the bitch.

Overall I think its important to realize how things are and only then think on the best way to bring change in a pragmatic gradual way not immature idealism

What are you chatting about? The US has always pandered to the Saudis (and other oil rich nations), even after 9/11, in which 15 of the 19 hijackers were Saudi.

Pragmatism doesn’t lead to change because the pragmatic response is to go with who is already in charge.

He’s not a bitch, he needs Twitter to be making him money, getting banned doesn’t do that.

It’s not like it would make that much difference. Erdogan’s allies control a significant portion of Turkish media (I saw the number 90% someplace) so Twitter taking down critical posts probably didn’t have that major an effect.

PPE: “I’m all for free speech but only when it suits me” is peak Musk. My favourite was when he was interviewed by the BBC, he asked for numbers on how hate speech has increased on Twitter since his takeover when questioned on it, and when the interviewer couldn’t off-hand cite sources, said that the interviewer was thus lying, as though the absence of evidence was evidence of absence.

Just finished Star Wars Rebels.

Didn’t think I’d particularly enjoy it, but the characters do really grow on you, particularly later on. They bring back a handful of other characters from Clone Wars also, which I appreciated. Also the whole Thrawn deal was something I liked, and he does appear to be… the word escapes me, something like honest or loyal to the character from the book, even if the book is not canon anymore.

It does have a bit of a loose end, but I imagine that was to possibly get more content out of it, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

I’d recommend.

Me? Run a game?

Why I never!

I think the last game I ran was 2 years ago and it was a small one.

I could do a small one until someone figures a bigger one out I guess.

It’ll have to be a quick one though since I’m lazy. I might steal remaster one of Tomasque’s games from Mafia Marathon. They were fun.

Some people still think the 2020 election was stolen.

Enough that Trump is again leading the polls for the Republican nomination.

I played 3 years before I played NV, and did feel 3 to be empty/disconnected, and NV is one of my favourite games.

I think enjoyment of the DLC depends on difficulty also. I played the game on hard and the DLC was pretty challenging as a result, particularly the last one because all the enemies had super high DT so it’s basically chip damage all the way.

What do you mean slight improvement over 3? New Vegas is excellent.

It looks too positive to be enjoyable.

I killed an enemy Long, after they killed… soooo many of my followers, either directly or as a consequence of me using them to defend me.

Now I just need to make sure I don’t lose the game to being arrested, as I have 5 corpses and I think I already have damning evidence against me.

… I may have to murder the investigator.

Happy thread on page 2 of GD, does nobody have anything to be happy about? :o

MGS3 is getting a re… master? Apparently it’ll keep all the original stuff in terms of dialogue and presumably cast? Not sure what to feel about it really since Kojima is gone and it is both a cash grab and Congo uteri on if a continuation of the general trend in gaming to re-release popular old stuff instead of do new stuff.

The original is most assuredly top two of my best games list, so yeah, looking forward to it being on modern systems, and dreading what Konami do with it. They used to make such good games…

I’m in a swing state so yay me.

I don’t even have cable and it’s going to be horrific.

One of my cats does that.

“Hey! Hey! Hey! Come to my food then watch me eat it!”

Which is annoying at 3 in the afternoon. Moreso at 3 in the morning.

Honestly looks a bit like a jet engine. Was your godmother (or their spouse), an engineer? There seem to be a few examples of this type of raw engine tie clip, but only a few.

Looking up NASA tie clip I did find a… well it wasn’t all that dissimilar I guess, it looked like it had landing gear. and it looked to be gold-plated. It sold for like £75 on some auction website.
