Xenia offers Saukko the fruit basket.

"No thank you, I find these discussions are playing havoc with my digestion."

((the maths: 4*(1+(.3+.2+.5+.25)) is 4*2.25=9))

13157
Propose: Cost multipliers stack additively. (Ex: The Keardai would cost 4E*(1+.3+.5-.25+.2) = 7E)

Support

"This is a good idea, though your maths are wrong. The Keardai in this example would cost 9E, not 7."

Propose: Trait costs are halved if they line up with a god's sphere.[/b]

Oppose

"Some god's spheres lend themselves better to race creation than others. In order to not disadvantage those that don't, having the same cost for creations seems most fair."

Yet people are putting traits on their creations already. So all we're going to do is have peopl who have already create something say either that they shouldn't pay for it because it wasn't priced or vote against any proposal that prices it higher than 4E, and all the people who haven't created anything arguing that it isn't fair if they don't have to pay for it, or all the proposals get essentially gridlocked because we were arguing about planets instead of putting forward lists of traits and prices.

Fakedit: butgger editing that, PFP and you probably get the point :P

Propose

Gridlock: No creatures can be created until a proper trait system is in place.

Nothing should be create until we have a pricing system in place.

13160
Creations don't cost anything at all. We have no prices for anything, but it would be tremendously unfair to retroactively price things and say "well, now you owe the cosmic bank 100E, good luck surviving while trying to repay that." much like it wold be unfair to have the gods doing stuff early not pay anything because they made something before we had prices.

13161
"We are all gods. Why limit ourselves to one system for all the varieties of magic that we are all eventually going to create?"

13162
So uh... how are you guys creating things when we don't have a pricing system down yet?

13163
((it seems folk are creating things without knowing how much they're going to cost.))

Life Advice / Re: The Generic Computer Advice Thread

My Windows 10 start menu doesn't open for some reason.

Not that I ever use it for anything other than to shut the computer down, but I can do that by right-clicking it apparently.

13165
You wished it! A capital crime!

They were in limbo behind the door, so they didn't receive the message that CJ was no longer wanted.

They're like that Japanese guy on one of the islands who didn't know the war was finished, and when he was discovered in the '60s they had to get his retired CO out to get him to stand down.

13167
Patience is a virtue, min. We ain't paying the man, so he can take his time.

13168
It needs to be noticeable, that's really the only requirement.

I bold and colour my votes (green for aye, red for nay) but that's just so KJP can see at a glance what I'm doing.

13169
"You know, thinking about my most recent proposal, perhaps it would just be easier to assign a value to any traits and add them all to the base cost, rounding it up or down as necessary."

Nope. Generic water bottle, made by Nestlé.

No surprise there then. They want to make you more thirsty so you buy and drink more of their water!
