Phase in increased wages for the people working under the Ministry of Criminality banner. $5 above the poverty line for each of them, phased in over the next 4 weeks (basically pay rises = (difference between present wage and $5 poverty line wage)/4, every week.
Improve the Minimum Security prison into a factory, producing tools, increasing the size so all prisoners in the minimum security factory are working.
Touchy laws will be set as follows, completely arbitrarily:
Weapon ownership: small arms are legal (pistols and rifles) while larger arms (machine guns and explosives) are taken on a case by case basis. Government will demand registration later.
Drugs: Illegal. All narcotics will be confiscated and totally sold to the highest bidder overseas this does not apply to prescription drugs (so long as the person has a prescription. Inquiries will be made to their physician if they don't)
Possession of a drug will result in a lesser penalty than if someone was caught supplying a drug. Possession of a drug that can't be safely used (won't hospitalise the user) over the course of a week will be deemed as intent to supply, and the individual(s) caught with it will be prosecuted under supply laws, even if they were not found to be supplying it.
Self-defense: Legal. Burden of proof is on the defender in these cases.
Property Rights: Another one that can be touched on later, though I will say the government reserves the right to search the private property of an individual if they are suspected of violent crime(s).
Tax Fraud: Illegal. Ministry of Finance can order audits of any organisation or individual that is suspected of tax fraud. Failure to comply will result in flat-rate fines of $1,000 or 10% of income (whichever is higher, and can be changed after seeing their accounts) paid into the tax pool of the government, plus further demands for audit. Incorrect and/or incomplete tax returns will be returned to the sender, with notes of why it was returned. Tax returns not completed by the return date (every 52nd week) will result in a mandatory audit.
Domestic Abuse: Need to touch on this later, as it's a pretty big thing. Presently illegal, accusations can be made at any police station, any injuries will then be documented and an investigation begins.
Bribery: Illegal. This includes the giving of money or gifts to a decision-making individual (or their friends/family) or organisation for a favourable decision. probably won't care too much about this one
Blackmail: I'll sort this out later, too.
Ask Mr. Milovanovic his opinion regarding these touchier laws.
Judges' pay will be set to $100 each. They will vote a senior judge from amongst them, who will advise the government on the intricacies of the law. Senior judge pay will be $150. Senior judge can be removed with a unanimous vote from the other judges, upon which the senior judge will return to the "regular" judge ranks and new election will take place.

All MinistriesI'd like your input on any touchy laws we might have. Diverse opinions on these matters are always welcome.
