Didn't the Republicans do that noone is gonna run as an Independent pledge thing?

Peter Noone is going to run?  Wikipedia says he was born in England.

All the republican candidates in the debates pledged not to run as independents but that doesn't mean there is no one they couldn't offer as a third party challenger.  Scott Walker seems like their best high profile candidate who didn't enter the race so he didn't make the pledge.

*ahem* He WAS in the race, but dropped out in September.

I wouldn't call him high profile or best, considering he didn't make it to Iowa.

He was actually highly regarded by the T Party and the Republican's in general, but ran out of money and popularity, so dropped out to save face. Folk in Wisconsin were also up in arms about him running while being governor. I believe petitions were started.

He's also a self-serving nepotistic twat. /personal taste

Aye you wanted action :P of which I will say it was a good action movie. Was a bit pants beyond that.

Though I need a bit more than explosions to enjoy a film. There was nothing to really get you attached to any of the characters and they did silly, unreasonable things that annoyed me heh.

Personal taste though I s'pose. Not knocking what you like, just that it didn't meet my standards for enjoyable (or just annoyed me too much)

It wasn't best picture/director/screenplay/actor/actress/supporting actor/actress though.

I have never know anyone to watch a movie purely on the basis it has fandabby music/sound-editing/make-up. Not that it'll never happen, of course (or I know too few people, which could easily be the case) but movies are generally sold on the quality of other things.

The best cinematography thing, for example. Dude has won it three years running, and I still can't remember his name.

@Tiruin: Shakerag claimed he did the Jester announcement thing D1 for... some reason or another that didn't pan out as he had hoped. There was another announcement that he was confirmed town during day 2/3, too.

Not read much of the rest of your post (goddamn) as busy-ass day that has started poorly. It ends in a driving lesson, so hopefully the trend for the day is upward, else I'll be in the jail by the end :o

This is where Ireland got it right.
There's nothing like a shrieking ethereal chick to really get the point across.
None of this "Do you think that's a deathknocker beetle?"
No, it's "HURRY UP AN' CARK, BLITHE! OI'M TRYIN' TO SLEEP."

Watched the Oscars. A bunch of the nominees stretched their thankstime to make a stand on rape culture, women's rights, racial whatchemer, global warming and the corporate influence on government.
It was enough that I sat up and noticed, anyway.
Honestly I'm really hoping this isn't a 'Miss America' thing where it's trendy to talk about a topical issue. I'd really like to believe people are using the spotlight to shine a spotlight.
... Like the movie, spotlight.

The director of "The Big Short" railed against big business in his speech a bit. That's pretty much what the film was about.

Not sure Chris Rock would've made academy folk angry though. I mean, el presidente de l'academy (yas mixed language such probably doesn't even make sense!) was up there talking about diversity and shit at one point.

I'm glad Mad Max didn't win what I would consider "major" awards, though. I didn't think it was great as a story or anything like that (despite the acting heavyweights they had) but it was quite a stunning movie, otherwise.

This would require someone else. I can stop him doing anything after he's revived, but it would likely necessitate waiting a bit. Game probably won't end in 2/3 cycles unless folk get rather murder-y.

They're shiny and make for good bludgeons. That is all that matters for the inevitable zombie apocalypse.

The Oscars is like the UN at this point. Nobody really gives a toss, but we keep it around because it looks important.

I'm watching it 'cause it's Sunday night, no other decent TV, and I guess it'll give me something to talk about for a few days.

PPE: MAD MAX DIDN'T WIN SOMETHING!
